Private House Next to the Cloud Forest Reserve!
Other things to note There are no patterns in the weather. Be prepared with fresh clothes for sunny days; something for warmth, a sweater or light jacket is sufficient and slippers to be in the house. Also Monteverde during most part of the year(November through April) is very (Windy) please understand that this is what you can expect. If high wind conditions may bother you it may be best to avoid Monteverde as there is nothing we can do about the normal conditions that include high wind during those months. We cannot control the weather. Don't blame us. It is nature and Monteverde. However even with high winds you should be able to enjoy any activity we have here in Monteverde. And we can almost guarantee that you will not see one mosquito here unless you bring it up in a suitcase.

Monteverde Reserve was literally next door! Beautiful surroundings. Our only issue was little hot water upon our arrival. Apparently the tank didn’t fill up??? We had to wait it out so that all three of us could shower. The toaster was broken and it was replaced the next day. There are a bunch of steps so b prepared to haul your luggage down to the house and back up again. Although the property is located on 12 acres, there r no trails directly from the house - just jungle.

Beautiful, quiet spot. The windows and wood decor were beautiful. The upstairs bathroom situation is a little complicated: main floor bedroom/bath no problem but the upstairs has two bedrooms and one en suite bathroom-awkward to access for that third bedroom. Toilet flush is very weak and before we even used it, we noticed weak flush. It was Sun (no plumber) so we used the plunger (didn’t really help). Chris sent plunger the next day and it seemed to help some. Kitchen is ‘rustic’ but our family didn’t mind.

This cabin is walking distance to the Cloud Forest, which is great but also means you need to traverse the long, dirt road when going anywhere else in town. It is sparsely decorated, dark, with minimal amenities. Definitely a cabin and not a house - but exceptionally clean. One of the guides we booked through the host did not show up leaving us scrambling to get one - another guide helped us by calling a friend in. It was stressful and we lost time in the process, messing up the rest of our schedule for the day.

Check-in at the front desk was informative, and we were also able to book the private Nebelwald tour with a very experienced guide. The property is located right at the entrance to the nature park, very beautiful, in the middle of the forest. Compared to the very touristy Monteverde, it's a dream. You should definitely travel by your own car. It feels a bit like being in a cabin in the foothills of the Alps. Everything made of wood, with wonderful views of the forest. Great for a family or very close friends, as the wooden construction means that some areas are quite noisy, and one of the upstairs bedrooms does not have its own bathroom.

This is a beautiful location deep in the forest, every window view is filled with the lush trees and plants. It is steps away from the start of the Monteverde cloud forest hikes, but we had to shuttle to the entrance to register and shuttle back (not a big issue, 5 minute ride). A cute little pizote was a regular visitor and countless birds provided the sound track.

We stayed here with our family which included three young kids - everyone loved the experience! The kids will tell you their favorite part was how comfortable the beds were. We were out most of our days but did down time at the house during the day and the favorite for my husband and I was sitting in the upstairs recliners with the windows open listening for birds and watching the clouds pass over. The house is peaceful and quiet first thing in the morning then again around dinner time - there is quite a bit of road traffic outside being near the entrance to the cloud forest reserve (it didn’t bother us, just something to know). We enjoyed morning and sunset walks along the road and visiting the hummingbird cafe across the street. Host helped us with local recommendations and was easy to message with about check out instructions! We would happily stay here again!

...it seems to me that it is the best location that can be found if your destination is Montevetde Cloun Forest: 50 meters from the access to the park. Each in the middle of the forest, which makes it a unique experience. In addition to the lush vegetation, the location of the house allowed us to enjoy the fauna of the place: pigeons, coyotes and many birds. The house is comfortable and I think it exceeds the description and photographs. Thank you!!!
