The Space

Casa Matilda is a spacious home centered around a traditional Mexican patio, making it well suited for families, groups of friends, and guests who appreciate architecture and design.

The house combines contemporary Mexican architecture with the visual language of Luis Barragán through bold colors, natural light, greenery, and spaces designed for both reflection and connection.

It includes:

• Five bedrooms and a studio with a sofa bed
• A private bathroom, closet, fresh sheets, and towels in each bedroom
• A pool table
• A piano
• A bar
• A library
• A garden and several patios filled with plants
• A private indoor garage for two cars, not visible from the street

One bedroom is located beside the service area and has a more independent entrance. This arrangement is ideal for guests traveling with staff, teenagers, or anyone seeking additional privacy.

Every area of Casa Matilda is designed to be enjoyed. Read in one of the patios, have coffee in the sunlight, relax in the hammock, play the piano, or browse the library. Throughout the house, traditional elements blend with modern comfort.

Location

Casa Matilda is in a central area of Guadalajara, close to La Minerva, Galería del Calzado, Chapalita, and Providencia.

The neighborhood offers:

• Bike lanes connecting to Chapultepec and the city center
• Nearby public transportation
• Restaurants and cafés
• Convenience stores
• Churches
• Supermarkets

From the house, the rest of Guadalajara is within easy reach.

Guest Access

You will have the entire house to yourself.

Cleaning and Housekeeping

Cleaning staff are present Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. They clean the common areas, care for the plants, and are available if you need assistance.

With your permission, they can also make the beds and remove trash from the bedrooms at no additional cost.

For stays of seven nights or more, weekly room cleaning is included. Additional housekeeping can be arranged for an extra fee.

Laundry

There is no laundry service inside the house, but Lavandería México is located just around the corner. Guests receive a 10% discount there; ask us for directions.

For longer stays, please ask our staff about available options.

Important Information

Please close all windows and doors whenever you leave the house, especially during the rainy season. Casa Matilda has reinforced locks, allowing you to relax and feel secure during your stay.

Occasionally, someone may ring the doorbell offering services. Please ignore these solicitations and never open the door to anyone you do not know.

Key Policy

If a key is lost, a replacement fee of $130 USD will apply.

Guest Identification

For security reasons, please send a photo of your official identification, along with identification for each accompanying guest, before check-in.
