Important Notes
- Costa Rica applies a 13% value-added tax (VAT), which is included in the price of your stay.
- The minimum age for children is 12 years.
- Due to Costa Rica’s microclimate, occasional seasonal rain and power outages caused by storms may occur. Transformers can be affected during the rainy season, and wildlife may sometimes come into contact with power lines. If a power outage happens, please notify the hosts immediately so they can report it and provide updates on restoration times.
- A welcome book is available in the villa with detailed information about the property, appliances, internet access, emergency contacts, and numerous recommendations for tours, beaches, dining, shopping, and local attractions including Manuel Antonio National Park.
- The tap water is safe to drink and among the most potable in Central America.
Energy Conservation
Costa Rica values energy conservation, and electricity costs are high. Guests are kindly asked to:
- Turn off air conditioning when leaving the villa.
- Close bedroom doors while the air conditioning is on to prevent cool air from escaping to other areas. (Note: rooms remain cool even if the air conditioning is turned off during the day.)
Additional Tips
- Shake out your shoes before wearing them, as the jungle environment may attract small wildlife.
- Do not feed the monkeys; it is illegal and can cause problems.
- Please communicate any issues or requests during your stay rather than waiting until after checkout to provide feedback. The hosts appreciate your input and strive to improve your experience.
Thank you for choosing Casa de la Reina. We look forward to hosting you!
