Samara Serenity

This was my first time to Costa Rica and we had a large group: 6 adults and 6 kids (ages 1-12). The house is beautiful, clean, and has so many thoughtful designs and functional elements for hosting a large group that made the stay extremely comfortable and enjoyable. Having 6 showers was important for getting everyone clean after the beach and separate living spaces for two families to relax. Plenty of outdoor furniture as well to enjoy the outdoors. One evening we were caught in a rainstorm and happy to realize we could go between the two apartments without getting wet! The host and management team were incredibly responsive leading up the our trip and throughout the trip. We did have an issue with the pool, but the host and management team worked throughout the week to make it right and they made sure we were accommodated for the inconvenience. For our first trip, we could not have asked for anything more! Highly recommend this rental for a family getaway!

I struggled with what to rate this house, because there were so many positives. Our family rented both floors and it was perfect for our group of 10. We loved the location. It was easy to walk to town, the beach, etc. Pool was great, and we would rent this house again. Anna and Samara Rentals were very responsive, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, I can't in good faith rate this 5 stars. As soon as we walked into the lower unit it was very hot and had such a bad mildew smell, that my 80 yo father had to sleep upstairs because of his asthma. Two showers didn't drain at all. Cabinets in the lower had pieces falling off. Upstairs had such a bad leak in one room, we had to put buckets on the clothing rack. Samara Rentals addressed all of these issues as the came up. There were just too many things that should have been taken care of before we checked it, which is why I am rating 4 stars overall. I would rent again because we really liked the house.
