Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased that you appreciated the spacious property and its natural surroundings. However, we feel it is important to provide additional context regarding your stay. We have been hosting guests for more than 15 years, and this was one of the most challenging experiences our team has encountered. Regarding check-in, we approved your request to drop off your luggage before the published 3:00 p.m. check-in time while our housekeeping team prepared the property following a same-day departure. Unfortunately, your group arrived unannounced for the luggage drop-off and, despite only being authorized to leave your bags, members of your group entered and locked themselves inside one of the casitas before it had been cleaned and released for check-in. This prevented our housekeeping staff from completing their work. Concerning the stove, we take guest safety extremely seriously. However, no issue with the stove or any injury was reported to us during your stay. Had we been informed, we would have responded immediately by inspecting the appliance and providing assistance if needed. After your stay, the stove was inspected, and no malfunction or defect was found. Regarding the chair, it was not weak or previously damaged. It is a custom-made solid teak wood chair that was damaged during your stay. The $250 charge covered the cost of repairing the chair; a new custom-made replacement would cost approximately $500. Additionally, the damage was never reported to us, and our staff only discovered it after your departure. At checkout, the property was left in an exceptionally poor condition, with excessive trash, dirty dishes throughout the house, cigarette odors and evidence of smoking despite our strict no-smoking policy, and the property left open and unsecured after departure. These issues were documented by our team. We always strive to provide every guest with a positive experience and are responsive whenever concerns arise during a stay. Unfortunately, none of these concerns were brought to our attention while you were at the property, which prevented us from addressing them at the time. We wish you the very best in your future travels.
