Marks condo was beautiful! Sergio met us at the condo when we arrived and gave us all the details we needed. Sergio was very responsive and helped when needed. The condo was well stocked and very clean. The pool right outside our door was very nice and we enjoyed talking to other residences. The beach is across the street and easy to get to. We also enjoyed all the wildlife playing around and on our decks. We definitely will return. Thank you both for a lovely vacation! Hope to return soon! Sarah & Chris

The house has probably one of the best locations you can find in playa del Carmen. It’s less than 2 minute walk from La Quinta and the beach: you have literally everyone close by but you are in a secluded lushy compound with a lot of tropical gardens which was so quiet and peaceful so you don’t get bothered by the nightlife from playa del Carmen. The place is great to stay with kids as it has an onsite pool and the house has all the equipment you need for a pleasant stay. The beds were very comfortable and the airco works really well. The common areas only have fans but that’s fine. In the end; you are in Mexico on vacation probably when you stay here, and hot weather is part of the experience. We loved all the animals walking around the pool area: it just made the experience for our kids so much fun. The ferry to Cozumel and taxi stand are also just 2 minute walk. would love to come back to this place!

Mark's house was a really wonderful place to stay. The location was perfect in that it was one block from town, shops, restaurants, etc. but was very secluded and peaceful. We traveled with 4 adults and two kids and had plenty of room in the house. We had everything we needed there and loved the pool and the access to the beach. We hightly recommend this house! Mark was helpful with restaurant recommendations and Sergio was very helprful and kind with suggestions as well!

A wonderful place with lush trees on a beautiful street, steps away from the beach and shopping. Highly recommend.

This house was just what we needed for our family of 6 (2 parents, 2 young kids, 2 grandparents). One thing to note is that the upstairs loft area with twin beds is pretty open, and not so private to sleep in. Certainly not a terrible option, but the kids found it more comfortable to just share a bed in one of the bedrooms. We adults loved all the outdoor seating areas, the kids loved the pool. I hope they weren’t too loud playing in it, the complex is very quiet and we tried not to disturb the serenity! Location was excellent, just far enough from the hustle and bustle, while still being extremely walkable. Sergio and Mark both were great with communication, and made sure we had everything we needed. Would happily recommend!

We had some issues at the airport and the arranged transport waited for us to get through it all later at night. Sergio was the contact on site and he was wonderful. We had everything we needed, there are even beach chairs and sand toys available for us to use on the beach. The accommodation was incredible, it was authentic and we felt like we had a great Mexican experience. The condo is clean and we had laundry machines available when we needed them. The pool was great, we got to see wildlife passing through while sitting on the patio. Overall, we had a lovely stay. This location was very convenient for shopping and the beach. Use local apps to have food delivered from grocery stores instead of shopping in store if you can (theft is high, especially at Walmart). Thank you Mark, we had a lovely time!

This is a wonderful place close to the beach (<3 min walk) with a pool. The wrap around porch was beautiful to lounge at. The bedrooms were always cool and comfortable with ac units . There are fans in the shared living spaces which help create a breeze. The kitchen also had everything we needed for cooking. Great pans and utensils. Shopping and good restaurants are within walking distance. We loved our family trip here!! One of the best things this place has was a Sergio. He was so helpful and proactive. We’ve been to PDC before but never had someone be as helpful as he was.

Perfect spot right outside of the hustle and bustle of town. Right near ruins and the beach. Great pool and in a quiet condo community with many owner-occupied units. (Not the place to rent and party hard at.) The house is generously-sized and fit four adults and four children nicely. Two big, beautiful bathtubs. A nicely stocked kitchen. Traditional decor and tile was very charming. Nice side yard with interesting and cute creatures roaming around (though one did make a snack of our flip flop!). Pictures don’t do it justice. Great value.

This was our families second time staying at Marks house. We really enjoyed the location and the house. Mark provides everything necessary for a family beach experience. We love staying here!

A spacious and relaxing townhouse. In the heart of Playa del Carmen but within a private complex of houses The accommodation has everything you need to enjoy a good rest and sufficient amenities. In my case, I needed the place for a work project and the attitude of the owner and his administrator was attentive and cordial.

Mark’s place is just perfect! Just steps from where everything happens but keeping privacy and away from noisy 5th Avenue. If you are looking for a safe place, close to the beach, with all the amenities to spend time with family or friends this is the one! The pool area, grill and common spaces are great! Definitely we’ll come back!!

We had a very nice stay. A quiet place, close to the beach and well connected to the city. Sergio is a professional, always attentive to us. Highly recommended this villa.

This lovely villa was perfect for our family of 6 + 2 grandparents! Clean, a block from the beach, a few steps from a large, clean swimming pool, an upstairs hammock, beach equipment, 3 bedrooms + 2 spare beds in the TV room, and Sergio the very helpful manager = fantastico! We would love to go back sometime!

First of all let me say that we had a fabulous family vacation at Villa Alegre! Mark was very nice and answered all our questions rapidly. The house is beautiful and has everything you need. The kitchen is organized and has all the appliances you could need to cook any meal. We felt right at home and very comfortable. The bedrooms were very nicely decorated and the beds were also very comfortable. The living room was very cozy with it’s beautiful french doors. The pool is beautiful and super clean and the beach is literally across the street! The treesvand vegetation around the place are stunning and beautiful. Now let me tell you about Sergio Castellanos the manager, he is a very kind and super helpful person. He made us feel like family. A very nice man. He is just great as was Mark. I recommend this place 100% and would absolutely want to spend more time at this awesome home away from home in Playacar. Thank you so much Mark and Sergio you guys are awesome!

Amazing, Awesome place. The beaches aren’t worth going on so awesome having the pool. The kids spend all day everyday having fun. We all fell in love with the house, just what the Dr ordered.

Wonderful stay!

Highly recommended this place, the pool is about 10 steps away, the beach walking distance. The rooms are very cozy and very fresh. The balcony and porch very relaxing... will definitely come back...

My family and I had an amazing time at Villa Allegre and we couldn't have asked for a better place for a relaxing getaway. It is very spacious and airy with fans and aircon, 3 bedrooms, as well as extra beds. It is stocked with everything you could possibly need. We loved the hammock on the balcony overlooking the massive pool. There were many places to sit and read a book. The beach and Playa del Carmon just a couple minutes away by foot. Sergio was extremely helpful with any questions we had and always responded quickly. Overall a perfect trip and highly recommended!

This place is fabulous! We stayed for 5 weeks and felt like home. The house has everything, EVERYTHING that you may need during your stay. You cannot beat the location: literally 60-second walk to the beach and within 3-4 min walk from the 5th avenue & Cozumel ferry. The property manager Sergio is amazing - very helpful and his responses are extremely fast. We will definitely be back!

The house is amazing! The pictures do not do it justice. We had such a great time from before we arrived till when we left. Sergio the concierge helped arrange everything for us from transportation to the Covid tests. The house has literally everything a family needs for a beach vacation. Thank you for sharing your house with us!

We had the greatest moments in the few past years at Mark's place. It was absolutely heaven. A caretaker comes everyday to take care of the pool and the complex so it really spic and span. And as everyone said, the proximity to everything is absolutely wonderful. We hope to come back again and again.

Beautiful Villa, the location is the best and is as shown in the pictures!

The photos of the house don’t do justice. The house is really big and comfortable. The location is outstanding just steps from the beach and couple of blocks to all the action in Playa del carmen. I will definitely rent again Mark’s house when we go there again. I spent three weeks with my family and everyone had great time.

HIGHLY recommend! Our family of 6 stayed stayed in Mark's villa for 5 nights of remote school/work following our official vacation on Isla Mujeres. We loved the layout: the kids all had their own beds upstairs and we had the lower level. The kitchen was well stocked for our Mexican dinners and we ventured for street food every lunch. The pool is huge and warm -providing the perfect refreshment between classes and the beach made for convenient morning reflection. The local property manager's English is perfect, he's very responsive, helpful and kind. We even had an middle of the night medical emergency and Sergio connected us with a doctor who makes house calls! Any transportation you need arranged can be provided by the property manager as well. We are all dreaming of our return. <3

The place is perfect! It is big, clean, close to everything you might need. Mark is a great host and Sergio is a fantastic help! If you have a big family and you don’t want to rent a car for the whole stay, you should stay at Mark’s place. Thank you Mark, we had a wonderful time!

Great place, very safe, relaxing and comfortable

Villa Alegre is a great place for a peaceful and somewhat secluded stay just a few minutes walk to hopping 5th Avenue. The grounds with Mayan ruins are super cool and the beach five minutes walk away is the best in the immediate area (Sargasso was considerable in Jan19). The Villa is as described and very well appointed from kitchen to library to linens. The beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards and other provisions to borrow were greatly appreciated. The host Mark and local contact Sergio were easy to communicate with, provided a ton of local information and made great recommendations. The only thing the photos don't illustrate is that both bathrooms are accessed through a bedroom (ensuite on ground and jack&jill upstairs) so those sleeping in the loft area have to pass through a bedroom to access a bath. We would all recommend this unique Villa to anybody looking for a serene option close to the hustle and bustle of Playa del Carmen.

Just returned this evening and had a lovely time at Mark's place. The house was very clean, there were plenty of extra towels (for both the bath and beach), and as other reviewer's have mentioned, there was plenty of space. We rented a car for a few days and parking was a non-issue. The house is surrounded by trees and in a short walking distance to the beach, shops, and restaurants. Great location, very comfortable, and well stocked. We went out for a number of meals but also got a few to-go so we could dine on the lovely wrap around porch. Sergio is also super helpful if you need anything or have any questions. We had a great time - thank you!

We had two great weeks at Mark's house. Nice Mexican style house that has what is needed. One minute walk to the amazing beach and the nice pool located just outside the house. Quiet and well-kept area with only a few minute walk to 5 avenue with all restaurants and shops. Safe neighborhood with private guards. Sergio who takes care of everything to Mark on site is helpful and gives tips if you need to. Highly recommend if you are looking for a house in a great location with no excessive luxury.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Alegre. The location, size, and amenities of this 2-level condo made it a great fit for our family, which included my husband and me, our three-year-old son, and my parents. The condo was spacious, comfortable, and in a lovely complex. The pool was a big hit with our little guy and there was ample gear and toys to take to the beach. We also enjoyed several peaceful outdoor meals on the wraparound porch, which is surrounded by lush tropical landscaping. One of our favorite features of this property was its location. Two blocks east and you’re at the (Playacar) beach, a few blocks north and you’re at the start of the famous 5th Avenue pedestrian street with all of the food, action, and people watching you could ever want. There is also a little trail with Mayan ruins that runs behind the property. Yet the condo itself is far enough removed from the action (and basically on a car-free street) that it’s very quiet and serene. We would stay here again!

Great location, very close to downtown with plenty of restaurants and shops and yet very quiet and peaceful. Also very close to the very nice beach. We were a party of 8 and there was plenty of space for all of us. Mark was very quick to respond to any questions we had prior to our stay. At the house, we could get in touch with Sergio whenever we needed anything and he was very attentive. I definitely recommend Villa Alegre!

We really enjoyed the house, it is a very well equipped place, spacious and well located (very close to the city center and a short walk from the beach). The property manager was also available and kind to help us. If we return to Playa we will surely contact Mark to stay here.

villa Allegre is perfectly located, less than a block from the beach and 2 minutes away from 5ta Avenida. the neighborhood is super quiet. We were a group of 8, two families and we were comfortable. Sergio, the manager was great, super helpful and easy to deal with. I highly recommend Villa Allegre if you are planing to stay in Playa.

Mark's place couldn't be more perfectly located. It is in a quiet, residential area and is just steps away from the beach and Quinta Avenida. The property was beautiful and well kept. Eight of us fit comfortably, and we really appreciated how well stocked the house was with beach towels, kitchenware, etc. The pool was cleaned every morning, and we had a great time using the barbecue. Mark was very responsive, and Sergio checked in on us every few days. We would happily stay here again!

Charming home near beach, pool, and downtown, in quiet neighborhood, make s a great base for a family trip to Playa del Carmen. The home is gracious and private, Sergio was a great host and checked by every day or two to see how we were going on. The three bedrooms have air-conditioning and the other rooms have screened louvered windows open to the outside air, which might be uncomfortably warm at times in the hottest part of the year but was fine in March/April. House was cleaned every 2 days and any issues were dealth with promptly. We would stay here again!

Stayed over Christmas and New Years 2015 in this wonderful villa. Nestled in a tropical forest just 50m from the beach and next to mayan ruins. Very intimate and private with a huge pool at our doorstep that our kids loved and was rarely used by others. In ten days we did one excursion because we loved just ganging out by the pool and going to the beach. The villa was fully equipped with great size kitchen, all utensils you will ever need, our host even arranged for groceries upon our arrival. There is wifi, washer dryer, AC in each room, three large rooms plus TV room and two large balconies with hammock. Room enough for everyone to find their little escape. The best part is the location, only 5mins walk to famous 5th ave and the shopping and restaurants. But far away enough that we enjoyed our peace and quiet when needed. The beach is right there and in great condition and not too crowded. The villa was stocked with all the beach chairs, towels, toys, snorkels etc I highly recommend to groups looking for an alternative to the all inclusive. Being able to cook and relax while spending quality time with family was priceless.

We just spent a month at Villa Alegre and had a really great stay. The house is in a perfect location, 3 minutes walking to a great beach and 5 minutes to the town square/start of 5th Ave. Even though it was so close to everything, the neighborhood was very quiet in a beautiful jungle setting. We felt very safe with our 2 very young children there. The pool was also lovely and over the month we only saw other people swimming there maybe 5 times. The house was equipped with everything we could've needed...kitchen supplies, beach chairs/umbrellas, pack'n'plays for the kids, etc. The property manager, Sergio, was super responsive and helpful. Thanks for a great stay!

We loved our stay at Villa Alegre! We were 7 adults and fit comfortably - all real beds. The house is in a quiet little neighborhood (away from the noisy beach parties) but just a very short walk to the beach and restaurants/bars. Plenty of sheets and towels. Cleaning service and local management team was excellent. Highly recommended!

The House was absolutely amazing, was very easy to find in a private community blocks from the shopping plaza and the beach. Everything was in working condition and there were plenty of towels for everyone. Washer and dryer were provided. There was a pool and lawn chairs to lay out on also. I highly recommend this house to anyone.

Villa Alegre is part of a unique condominium community called Villas Arqueologicas. There are old Mayan ruins on the grounds and nearby. The villa has a porch and a 2nd floor balcony that look over the pool area. Plenty of towels and beach amenities are provided. The pool area has an outdoor BBQ grill, dining table and plenty of lounge chairs. Everything is convenient to walk to as the beach is across the street, the Cozumel ferry is 2 blocks away as well as the downtown shopping on 5th Avenue. The Villa has a washer and dryer, fans in all rooms as well as A/C if needed. There are some novels and travel books available to borrow. Maid service and bottled water are provided. A property manager is available if any assistance is needed and he can help arrange transportation to the villa if you like.

You don't get much better than this for a beach holiday. Villa Alegre is great on the inside, and with really helpful staff / host who can guide you off the beaten track. It's minutes (walking) from both the beach and the resort. The actual beach is absolutely fantastic - beautiful soft sand, warm water, not too busy but plenty of places close by / on it for supplies. The resort, while a little tacky in a few areas (Starbucks etc.) has plenty of great spots for food. There are plenty of interesting ruins and parks to explore in the area. Will be coming back.
