We spent 14 wonderful days at this beautiful property with our family of five and had an amazing experience. The house is set on a secluded plot surrounded by Costa Rica’s stunning landscape and wildlife, offering peace, privacy, and a truly relaxing atmosphere. It’s also just a short walk from the beach. The property was spotless, comfortable, and had a wonderful energy that made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Our favourite aspects of the property was the outdoor space. Our children absolutely loved spending time in the pool every day, while we were relaxing on the floating bed (a truly brilliant idea from Mike), practicing yoga in the shala, or exploring the surrounding jungle trails. Mike and Nicole were fantastic hosts. They were friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. Mike shared great recommendations for local restaurants, shops, activities, and places to visit, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We made wonderful family memories here. Highly recommended!

We spent a wonderful (though hot) week at Verde y Azul in April with two young kids (3–4) and a baby (10 months). Mike was a clear communicator, arranged airport transfer, and shared helpful tips for traveling with little ones. The property manager was fantastic—great recommendations and always quick to respond on text. A crib and high chair were ready on arrival, which made a big difference. The house is stunning, with a well-stocked kitchen that made breakfasts and lunches easy. The swinging bed was the perfect nap or reading spot. The pool was the highlight—we spent hours each day enjoying it. We rented a 4WD, which made the steep drive to the beach much easier (recommended if not using ATVs). For families with young kids: the pool area and floor can be slippery, and only the bedrooms have AC since the home is open-air. Be mindful of the pool with crawling babies. Expect wildlife—monkeys, lizards, birds, butterflies and some bugs. We made a bingo card to make it fun!

Mike's place is beautiful. The house is very practical and comfortable for a family with kids, clean and well equipped. We appreciated the natural materials, high ceilings and well ventilated bedrooms (the fan was sufficient at night even in the hottest month!). Both bedrooms have mosquito nets which is helpful. The pool is well kept and cleaned regularly. I was misled by the description which said salt water, but it was actually treated with chlorine. Some construction noise could be heard from the main road, but it was counterbalanced by the beautiful songs of the birds and howler monkeys every morning. We could see many monkeys around the house, which makes this place magical. It's located in the non-paved part of Santa Teresa, a little dusty but more authentic and less chaotic than the southern part of town; a short walk to the beautiful beach - so the location was perfect. Tamara, Simon and Freia are wonderful hosts.

Location was great especially for surf. The house was relaxing, peaceful and private. While we loved walking to the beach and exploring town, staying “home” was just as enjoyable and didn’t feel like we were wasting a day. Great views and tastefully decorated you cannot go wrong. Ten stars if I could.

This is our third time staying at one of Markus' properties in Santa Teresa and it did not disappoint! Markus' homes are all truly unique and situated behind a secure gate. There are four properties, all unique and private. We stayed previously at El Camino, which we love, but this time stayed at the top of the road at Casa Drop In and it was amazing! We loved the gorgeous huge pool with ocean views, the outdoor hanging bed for lounging, and the spacious interior. You cannot go wrong with any of Markus' properties on this road- they are all thoughtfully designed and in the best location on the northern end of the main road which is more peaceful but has some of the best dining options in my opinion.

Great stay, clean home, very responsive hosts, not totally quiet as we wanted near the beach so we can hear cars and dogs barking. Walkable distance to the beach, a fantastic gym and nice coffee shops and restaurant.

The house is incredibly close to the ocean, yet still right in the middle of the jungle. Daily visitors such as iguanas—who occasionally even use the pool 😉—howler monkeys, squirrels, and many other animals make the stay exciting and truly special. Special thanks to the amazing property managers, Simon and Tamara. They are always reachable, extremely helpful, and genuinely kind. Tamara, thank you so much for the yoga session—you really put a lot of effort into it and even managed to inspire someone who normally has no interest in yoga at all. Hope to see you both soon in Austria! The surfing in the area is excellent, just as a side note. A very special thank-also goes to our property guardian Freia—you are a wonderful watchdog and an even better friend! In short: the house, the location, and the caretakers (Tamara, Simon, and Freia) are outstanding and truly one of a kind!

We loved our stay! The place was awesome The bedrooms are comfortable. We loved hanging out in the outdoor space which was beautiful and cozy. We had a beautiful view off the front porch which included the surrounding trees and a small piece of the ocean. Getting up the driveway to the house requires a 4x4 if you intend to drive to the house. Most days we walked to the beach from the house with our 8, 7, and 4 year old which was easy enough. We would definitely recommend Mikes place!

We had the best time staying in Santa Teresa! The town was easily accessible from Mike’s place by ATV. Mike was very responsive, the home was very beautiful and in the jungle! We saw Monkeys outside of the bathroom windows multiple days!

Mike's place was lovely, private, and a welcome escape from the main street a ways below. He was super responsive when we had questions—a great host overall. Don't miss walking up to the yoga 'shala' for a good stretch or just to hang out quietly in the evening, especially if it's raining :)

Mike is super helpful and attentive, the place is perfect for disconnecting from the city and noise and sharing as a family. We loved it!

We had an amazing two week stay at Casa Camino ground floor! The house was amazing and modern, yet highlighted the surrounding nature beautifully. We saw many monkeys, iguanas, frogs, and more which was special. The location is perfect on the north end of Santa Teresa - away from the busiest part of town, 5 min walk to surf & beach. Mike and his team were great communicators and always helpful with assisting in coordinating activities, taxis, etc. You won’t regret staying here!

Great house. The property managers were amazing and so helpful. Loved the pool and the variety of wildlife right in the backyard. We were greeted by monkeys and iguanas. I wish it was a little more private from the driveway since there are other houses above this one and we didn’t realize that the yoga studio is not connected to the house but rather a community structure. Otherwise everything was fantastic and we’d definitely come again!

Lovely open air home! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The common areas were beautiful. We loved starting our day with coffee, looking at the beautiful views. Enjoyed watching monkeys, butterflies and hummingbirds. We liked the walkability to the beach and nearby restaurants.

Stayed here for 6 nights with my family and we absolutely loved it! The house was so relaxing and beautiful, close enough to walk to the beach and to restaurants but on the quieter end of town which was perfect. We rented an ATV for the duration of our stay which was so fun and a very convenient way to get around and to go surfing. Highly recommend this place!

Casa Drop In was great all the way around. I picked the house for my family which included a 3 yr old , a 6 yr old and 4 adults. Below are a list of reasons why you should rent this place if it is available. 1. Location- Close to Santa Teresa (but not too close)- The house is close to town but far enough away for it to be quiet and peaceful. The home is located up a hill off the main road and feels very safe, beautiful, and private. There are several great restaurants and a small super market within walking distance. 2. Surf- there is a beach access that is a 5 minute walk from the house that allows you to get to Santa Teresa Norte. 3. House- it is beautiful and honestly looked better in person than the pictures. 4. Pool- kids loved it and it was well maintained. 5. Clean- a lady came to clean the house everyday we were there. 6. Hosts- Tamara, Mike, and Freia were super responsive and friendly. If you are coming to Santa Teresa to surf with your family book this place.

Casa Verde y Azul is incredible! We spent eight days here with our three boys and couldn't ask for a better place to experience the true pura vida of Santa Teresa and the Nacoya! From waking up to the howlers to enjoying the pool after a long day of surfing, we found this place to be absolutely perfect in every way. Near site care takers and an attentive cleaning crew made for an effortless existence in paradise. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking, the beds are comfortable, and the open living space is a great way to be immersed in the jungle. We would return in a heartbeat!

I stayed at Mike’s with my family of four (kiddos 3 & 6) and my friend’s family of 3 (kiddo 5), and we had an amazing time! The rooms were super comfortable, the outdoor area was incredible, and the property managers were a stones throw from the house and easy to access if needed. We watched monkey parades from the yoga shala almost every day, saw some beautiful birds, and were a five minute walk to the beach. Someone cleans the house EVERY DAY, which I realize now the listing might say but I didn’t know that going in - and it was such a wonderful surprise while being on vacation. The drop-in house is better in person than the photos even convey. We swam in the pool throughout the day, practiced yoga in the delightful shala, cooked almost all of our meals in the well equipped kitchen, and slept so soundly. It was perfection. *one thing, if you’re sensitive to light, bring an eye mask because the upstairs room gets a ton of morning light at 5am*

this house was absolutely amazing. if you could dream of a perfect jungle house this would be it. You woke up to birds singing and howler monkeys, well, howling. Our first morning the monkeys came to visit and we sat in the pool watching, it was magical. Lars was so helpful when we checked in, he gave us lots of great food and activity recommendations and even came and helped when we got a visit from a very large spider.

Mike’s place was a dream! We had such a great time and felt right at home. His property manager was so helpful coordinating several things for us, including surf lessons which was a big hit with the kids. We loved the privacy of the location yet being within walking to the beach. We traveled as a family of 5 and felt very safe and comfortable with our kids there. We plan to return next year. We had a wonderful stay, and loved the welcome incense, beers and juice boxes for the kids! The place was lovely and clean, and the pool was so refreshing. Loved birdwatching from the top deck!

Mike was very responsive to all of our requests before checking in and a great help in making us feel comfortable coming down with our 10 month old baby. The house was well appointed and in a great location of Santa Teresa. Surrounded by jungles and trees filled with monkeys, it was an absolutely incredible stay. This is one of the best (if not the best AirBNB) we have ever stayed in. It’s even better in real life than the pictures. It’s a beautiful place in a beautiful spot with a wonderful atmosphere and amenities. It sits high up from the main Santa Teresa road and is completely private… it’s a great place to laze and relax in the heat of the afternoon sun between beach and town visits in the morning and evening. Mike’s property manager Lars was great… he helped us with all our questions and was always on hand to assist us. You need a 4x4 to get up to the property but that doesn’t hinder the experience. All in all… a STUNNING place and I can’t recommend it enough.

This is our second time staying at Mike’s place. We love Santa Teresa and will always come back to Mike’s house b/c of its amazing privacy in lush tropical settings, location in the quieter part of town but so accessible to everything, and the ease of communication w/ Mike and Lars. Very professional. The decor and style of the home is like a treehouse but with all the modern amenities. And the pool is lovely. Lars the property manager was always accessible and helped us with an ATV rental. Also, he left us with a lovely bottle of rose and chocolates to welcome us back. Highly recommended!!

I know there are so many AirBNB reviews out there that say, “My favorite AirBNB experience so far,” but seriously—this place was AMAZING!!! Such a beautifully designed house, incredible location, and responsive host. The property manager was top-notch and the rental cost included daily house cleanings. We used the yoga shala every day, including one day for massages that were so so so good! This will forever be one of my favorite AirBNB rentals—thanks Mike! Note: you do need a 4x4 car to get up to the house, although it doesn’t have to be too rugged of a vehicle. We got by with a silly Mitsubishi ASX, which technically has 4x4 capabilities but very little power and clearance compared to your typical 4x4 vehicle.

This has to be one of my favorite Airbnb stays ever. If you’re up for a remote adventure to get there (we came from the US), it is absolutely worth the travel. The place itself was exactly as described and as shown in the pictures. It was private, so incredibly peaceful, clean, and all around perfect! The property manager was so helpful and friendly. The property dog, Freya, also gave us many sweet visits. The cleaning staff work hard to keep things pristine. A short walk to the beach and many restaurants/supermarket in town. We rented an ATV for a few days and it was definitely a fun way to get around (esp as most roads are gravel and dirt). We loved The Bakery in town for breakfast and coffee, and explored many restaurants. Every single one has great food and service. Mike was so helpful in booking everything from rides to excursions and we couldn’t be grateful enough. We hope to be back again!

El Camino was great! Such a great setting. Tucked away a short walk up the hill but close enough to easily get to the beach. Within walking was what ended up being our favorite restaurant, Nami. Also, close to a great grocery store. Super close to all the rest that Santa Teresa offers of course, but being on the north side you can quickly escape towards Hermosa and the surrounding area.

Mike’s place is quintessentially Costa Rica. You are surrounded by Jungle, you can hear the surf and the house is well designed and laid back. We would recommend the place to family and friends.

This Airbnb was amazing! We had the most amazing stay and it by far exceeded our expectations from the pictures we saw beforehand. The house manager and staff were very friendly, professional, accommodating, and organized. And overall, the location was just gorgeous. Large hill to get there but great beach access and proximity to the local grocery store. Couldn’t have asked for better.

Had a nice stay at Mike’s place! Kim the proper manager was very nice and was always there if you needed anything. He lived right next door but always respected our privacy! Cleaning was a nice addition daily very quick and efficient! The al fresco kitchen on the second floor is awesome to have a romantic dinner! It’s funny there are two animals living in the ceiling in each floor and you hear them run around, day and night, which was first creepy but then was quickly ignored! It’s the jungle so what do you expect haha I have to say the house was smaller then it looked in the pictures and also it’s not as private as it seemed in the pictures since there is the road right by the house. The location was great! Walking distance to a great grocery store and a short drive from our favourite manzanillo beach! Overall nice stay!

This spot is great! So peaceful and lovely, and all the outdoor space is fantastic — from the pool to the hammocks to the feeling of inside and outside blending together. It is the second time I have stayed at one of Mike’s Airbnbs, and I’d definitely come back again.

We stayed at El Camino for 2 nights and had an absolutely wonderful time. The house was just as described and the grounds and interiors were really nicely done w/ an indoor/outdoor feel. Kim, the property manager lives nearby and is really helpful if needed. An ATV is highly recommended for getting around Santa Teresa and for getting down to the beach. You can walk, but it is a steep and gravelly path in sections and a big stretch of the roads in town are not paved and very rough. We loved the Boho vibe of the house and the town, which we fell in love with. My only recommendation is to provide clearer instructions for finding the house as it’s a bit tricky at first. Other than that we absolutely loved it and will come back in a heartbeat!

Mike's place was amazing! It was better in person than in the photos which was a great surprise. The property manager was very responsive and always helpful. The property may be tough to find the first time but after that, it's in a beautiful location with a great view. I spent a lot of my time at the property since it had everything we needed. I recommend getting an ATV while there since the hill is quite big. 10/10 would recommend.

Casa Drop In was incredible. We had an amazing time, the house and location were perfect, the amenities, cleanliness and regular cleanings were great, and the property manager, Kim was incredibly kind and helpful. The yoga studio and access to the best massage therapist was fantastic. We loved the pool, our kids were in it nonstop! The hill up to the house is a bit steep so if you have little ones or older folks, renting an ATV is advised (and super fun)! We would highly recommend any of Mike’s properties and would love to return in the future!

Beautiful house in a peaceful setting. East beach access by going down the hill and straight to a path that leads to the beach. Sound communication and a wonderful house keeper and daily cleaning service. Special place, will be back.

We loved our stay at the villa. Beautiful views and swimming pool, the outdoor lounge and kitchen are a must.

We stayed in Casa El Camino for 9 nights over Christmas and New Year. We are a family of 5 and the villa was perfect for our needs. It's really well located - a 5 minute walk from the beach, 3 minutes from a well-stocked supermarket and there's loads of restaurants nearby. The villa itself is gorgeous - just like the photos. There are 2 lovely ladies who clean everyday, and Kim, the property manager, is very responsive and helpful. There's a 'to die for' yoga deck which you can use too. Alongside the villa is a forest which is full of amazing trees and wildlife. It's really special! The pool is great too. The only possible improvements we would suggest would be to have plugs for the kitchen sinks and for the ovens to be reliable. A BBQ would be nice too. We got the impression that not many guests cook in the villa so these issues probably had not been picked up before. We were able to resolve them, but cooking dinner on Christmas Day (Day 1) was quite a challenge!

A truly remarkable stay! This house is tastefully designed with great details (eg. seashell lamps, comfiest hammocks, indoor/outdoor showers), and feels like you're living in an Architectural Digest magazine. The location is perfect, up a quiet street in a secluded jungle but just 5 minutes from the main street & 8 minutes to the beach. However, the best part was our unbelievable hospitable host, Kim. He went above & beyond to accommodate every request & make our stay magical. THANK YOU KIM!

What an incredible week we had at Mike's in Santa Teresa. The pool was just perfect for our family and we loved spending time in the hammocks on the porch. It is well located to shopping, beach and attractions. Highly recommend!!

We had a lovely stay at villa Verde y Azul. The house is very nice and beautifully located on the top of a hill , a short walk from the beach. The view from the master bedroom is simply splendid. The possibility of using the yoga shala at the property was a nice surprise.

AMAZING family stay. Casa Drop in is beautiful with lots of thoughtful touches. The cleaning service was great and Andreas - the groundskeeper who lives on the property was extremely helpful with whatever we needed including advice about beaches, restaurants and tours. We LOVED our time there and didn’t want to leave.

Great home base to explore the area. We loved having the pool to return to each afternoon, and it was an easy walk down to the beach, the surf, and the surrounding restaurants.

Excellent location away from the hectic pace of the central part of Santa Teresa. Brilliantly located near to Hermosa and easy to access the town. You will need a 4 x 4 to head up but this was clearly mentioned. We especially liked the fact we could use the yoga Shala for yoga and massages. Definitely my favorite place I have stayed. The place was spotless, the pool was warm, and there is wildlife right in the backyard. We saw monkeys, iguanas, colorful birds ,etc. Additionally, Mike and the property manager Andi were very responsive. Andi arranged ATVs to be dropped off and picked up at the place for us in addition to taking care of other logistics. We barely had to lift a finger. Cleaning comes though nearly everyday so the place stays spotless while there. It is also in a great part of town, quiet but easy access to the attractions. We all really enjoyed our time here.

We loved our stay. Definitely one of the best Airbnb's we've stayed in. The place is built and decorated in a way that reflects that natural beauty of Costa Rica. It was comfortable, private and conveniently located for quick access to the beach and the town. We also fell in love with Santa Teresa. It's a vibrant surf town that embodies the Pura Vida vibe and attracts incredible people from all over the world.

This place is even better than what you see on the picture. When we arrived, we were greeted by Andreas, the property manager, and he took care of us during our whole stay. The place is wonderful and I would highly recommend!!

Gorgeous Airbnb up a hill in the rainforest, surrounded by mango trees that the howler monkeys like. Loved the pool and unique open shower with nothing separating you from the forest. Mike/Andreas helped arrange a great couples massage for us on our honeymoon in the yoga hut further up the hill (however prices were a bit more expensive than our previous couples massage in another Santa Theresa Airbnb). Definitely to go Kogi's (amazing sushi!) and Banana Beach (beach club) if you're in the area! Also I'd recommend getting a Honda Talon (side-by-side) or quad for the road leading to this Airbnb and the town in general, as there are a lot of unpaved roads and mud (esp in green season). Definitely recommend!

Had a great stay here, good location and great communication

Our party of 6 had such an amazing time here. It was close to town so we could walk to get into the thick of things, but it was off of the main road enough that it was private and quiet. It felt very safe there, too. The pool and outdoor area was incredible - we spent so much time just lounging around. We also loved the partially outdoor showers. Mike, Nicole, and Philip (property manager) were all very friendly and communicative and helpful.

We couldn't have asked for a better rental house for our trip to Santa Teresa. Everything exceeded our expectations - the house was so well located (close to restaurants and the beach, but private and quiet), the POOL was key for the hot hot days and warm enough to hang out in all evening, the property manager Phil was so helpful (especially on the day we arrived and needed to figure out ATVs and places to grab food), and the sleeping and bathroom arrangements were just perfect for our group of 7. We ended up renting one UTV (5 person buggy) and one 2-person ATV to help us get around. The walk up the hill is doable, but much easier with a quad. We really appreciated the daily house cleaners, especially with our frequent trips to the beach :) Don't think twice about booking Juli to come give you a massage in the Treehouse Yoga Shala... you won't regret it. We are so excited to hopefully return sooner rather than later.

Very nice little house, good location, it’s close to everything. Semi-private. Since the top floor is rented it doesn’t make it 100% private but we knew. Neighbors up there we’re pretty loud and we could hear everyone single steps.

We were so happy with our stay at Casa Drop In. It’s tucked away in a spot that feels remote from the main streets and nightlife so your evenings are peaceful, but still close enough to take advantage if you want to. With surfboards and a 7-year-old’s beach toys we found it easiest to rent a quad to get to the beaches we wanted to visit. The pool is amazing, the yoga area was wonderful, and I could live on the outdoor bed swing. Lovely stay.

Mike’s place was beautiful and in a perfect location. The house is a great set up for a group. The beach is just a walk away. Rosie the dog who lives on the property is so sweet and it was always nice seeing her. Phil the property manager was also very helpful throughout our stay!

Beautiful Casa 5 min walk up the hill in Santa Teresa. 3 larges bedrooms with own ensuites. AC & wifi worked well. Property manager was very informative & helpful. Cleaners came daily to tidy the place. Outdoor space, pool & view were the best part. Highly recommend staying here!

Words can never explain the magic this family created when it comes to this house and the whole place “Drop in”. We simple just loved it and never wanted to leave. The perfect distance to the beach, the view over the jungle and the ocean. Watching the monkeys every morning. The outdoor living but still access to sleep indoor with AC if it’s needed. The pool that our kids never left (8&4 yrs old) The beauty and personal detailed decorated house is just breathtaking. Easy communication with the host and lovely Phil just down the road. We soooo enjoyed the beautiful yoga shala we had for our selves the 10 days we stayed. Close to the best little supermarket in Santa Teresa. The vibe and energy surrounding this place is just beyond words. We will be back!

This house was AMAZING! Super private and with the coziest and coolest nature vibes. The pool was amazing as you can see the ocean and all of the monkeys playing in the trees. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves a jungle feel. I loved that there were also rooms with air conditioning for when you wanted to escape the heat. And the main open bedroom was soooo beautiful to wake up to the waves crashing and animal sounds. I will definitely be staying here again!

Casa El Camino is in a perfect location in Santa Teresa…turn south for an active (somewhat hectic) town, north for a more peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. Phillip, the manager, was amazingly helpful. The pool, patio, and surrounding nature (monkeys, birds, kitties) were unreal. The sound of the waves crashing from the comfort of your own pool or hammock!? You’ll find it all at El Camino.

This is the perfect house if you want to have a relaxed stay in Santa Teresa. Lean back and enjoy the view.

Amazing house and location. The hill is real but fun to jump in pool after walking up every time! Phil (caregiver) lives down the road and is SUPER helpful. Hope to stay again!

Incredible villa, among an amazing nature, an experience to leave.

Casa Drop In is a lovely house on the hill side, just by the forest with ocean views. We easily housed a family of 5 and enjoyed many sunrises and sunsets in the open areas and lovely pool. Well kept and great service by the staff

El Camino was an amazing stay! We loved the location and sense of adventure on approach. The home was so clean and comfortable. Our manager Philip was a welcome neighbor and friendly face coming and going. We really appreciated his presence and recommendations. Mike was extremely easy going and responsive during planning and changes. We’d highly recommend the El Camino to travelers and especially a family as the home is situated for both privacy and gathering. I’d take Mike and Philip up on any local recommendations or referrals for transportation and services as the El Camino is on a road that not all drivers will navigate - although we did fine in a common golf cart/buggy. Book with these folks. It’s a great spot.
