4BR Villa in San Ignacio

Sheena

Excellent, 4 weeks ago

My friends (4) and I stayed here for a few days and had a great time. The home looked like the pictures posted and we had no issues during our stay. We were close enough to everything we wanted to access during our stay in San Ignacio. The bedrooms were large and spacious. The A/C worked great, and each bedroom and living room had a ceiling fan. The showers had hot water, no issues. Things to note, the airbnb is split access, with 2 distinctly separate entrance. This was fine for us girls, we just took turns popping over to each other's side and hanging out. The only thing I would suggest is at some point in the future, maybe changing the sofa to a small L shape style to accommodate more seating than the current sofa allows. Final thing to know, each bedroom does have it's own large spacious bathroom, however, there is no door between the bedroom and the en suite bathroom. So, if you are sharing the room and need some private potty time, that may require strategy.

Sheena thank you for taking time to share the details of your stay. Your input and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Absolutely loved our stay! We’ve been to Belize several times, but this was our first visit to San Ignacio, and it honestly might be my favorite place in Belize now. The location was perfect, close to everything we wanted to do, while still feeling peaceful and local. The town is beautiful, the people are incredibly welcoming, and there was so much to explore nearby. The property itself was perfect for our large group. There was plenty of space, all the amenities we needed, and the smaller pools were such a hit with the kids. Juan was wonderful extremely helpful and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. We had such an amazing experience and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend this place if you’re visiting San Ignacio!

First of all, excellent communication with Jameli. I felt very informed coming into San Ignacio. The property was very large and easily accommodated our 6 adult group. Juan, the onsite manager was also extremely friendly and helped us with everything, including unloading and loading our rental car. Jameli, did the legwork to find us a tour company that we used for Tikal on one day and ATM on the next day. Everything about those tours was excellent, including the prices. One thing that we REALLY appreciated and I didn't catch from my research, was that Jameli's property was right across the street from the San Ignacio Hotel and their restaurant was one of the best in town. On our 4-day stop in San Ignacio, we ate dinner their twice and used the hotel pool with a $10 USD day-pass. This alone, makes Jameli's properties more valuable.

I always feel right at home at Jameli’s properties. Casa Suzie is spacious, clean, beautiful and in a perfect centralized location right by downtown. You can walk down the hill and get to the market, shops and restaurants. The nights are quiet and peaceful and you can enjoy the upstairs balcony or the bottom baranda and just relax. The rain sounds beautiful when you are relaxing in the hammocks on the covered baranda. The house is very safe and completely fenced in so you have privacy, the caretaker Juan is very attentive and always checks to make sure you have everything you need for a great stay. I come to Belize often and my first choice in Homes is always Casa Suzie or Suzies Villas and I always recommend them to anyone traveling to Belize.

We loved staying at Suzie’s Hilltop Estates! The location was perfect. We were close enough to town to walk if we wanted to. Even my four year old was able to walk into town with little complaint. Being across the street from The San Ignacio Hotel was also a plus. Eating breakfast and dinner right there was an awesome bonus, so was the easy access to the iguana sanctuary at the hotel. Overall an awesome stay! Thank you!

This place was perfect. There were beautiful views since it sits on a hill. There are many birds on the property and the plants and flora on the property were beautiful. You were in walking distance to many restaurants. We had a fine dining experience at the San Ignacio Resort and Hotel which was across the street from the house. We visited Mayan ruins and went to the Botanical Garden and a butterfly sanctuary. Each bedroom had an attached bathroom which was a nice feature. The place was large and accommodated our group of seven. I would highly recommend this place. The host was easy to communicate with.

We rented both units, and they were clean, well-prepared, and ready for our arrival. The property sits atop a hill with beautiful views, and the pool was perfect for relaxing after a day of hiking the caves. Juan was very kind and helpful in assisting us with arranging a taxi, which we truly appreciated. We had a wonderful and pleasant stay overall. We also accidentally left my husband’s iWatch behind, and Terry was gracious enough to send it to us via air freight to San Pedro. That level of kindness and customer service was greatly appreciated. Thank you, Terry! We would definitely stay here again.

This place was exactly as posted. Linen was clean and smelled fresh (I always take my own bedding & towels; I didn't need to).Super close to everything and town. If you like to walk they're all walkable. Terry came immediately to greet us & make sure we had necessities. Juan, the grounds keeper, is very pleasant & was readily available & quick to assist. The grounds were well maintained. This is definitely my go to place for future trips. Many thanks for making us feel at home - away from home.

We only had 2 nights in San Ignacio, and Jameli was very helpful in ensuring we had everything we needed to have a great stay. We rented the entire two apartments at Suzie's Hilltop and the space was great for our group of 7. The rooms and common areas were clean and the welcome snacks and drinks were such a great touch! Jameli was very communicative and gave us great restaurant recommendations and connected us with a great tour company for options on things to do in the area as well. On the property, Juan was there to greet us and to help with any questions. I would definitely recommend this space when visiting San Ignacio.

We enjoyed our stay for the most part. The caretaker Juan was very friendly and helpful. The iguana project at the hotel across the street was interesting. Just a few comments for potential future guests: - The 4 bedroom house is actually 2 adjacent villas each with 2 bedrooms. That wasn’t clear to us in the description. It worked out okay for us, but maybe not for a family that doesn’t want kids in a separate house. - None of the bathrooms have doors - they are inside of each bedroom but with no privacy (even for the toilet). That wasn’t clear to us from the photos. - There is a lot of noise from the road and the casino across the street (which apparently closes at 3am on Saturdays). On our first night, we woke up at 4am to the sounds of a fight in front of the casino that the police had to break up.

Susie’s is a favorite when we’re in San Ignacio. I didn’t book in time for our last trip and stayed somewhere else (It was still a nice spot). You can’t best Susie’s staff; kind, prompt, caring, proud of this location. We’ll be back!

We had an amazing stay at Suzie's Hilltop Resort. It was four of us so we rented out both of the townhouses. We arranged transportation from the Belize City airport with the mgmt company and Terry met us when we arrived on site. She introduced us to Juan who lives on the grounds and is there if we encounter any issues. He is the nicest guy! The place was very clean and well appointed with what we needed. Most importantly the beds were super comfy and the shower was hot! Terry was great in arranging a cultural tour for us when our kayaking tour got canceled because of the weather. Every one that we interacted with related to the property management company was amazing, warm and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend.

This is our second time staying at Susie’s Hilltop Villas. We loved it so much the first time, that we brought our family the second time around and booked both sides. It’s very spacious and all the amenities including washer/dryer was great to have available. Beds are very comfy and place was clean. Along with Jameli, the property manager Terry and groundskeeper Juan were very attentive and worked to fix any issues we had asap. Even when we added more people to our group last minute, they were very understanding. We look forward to returning.

Jameli’s house was great for our four day stay. You can walk down the hill and be into the heart of San Ignacio within a few minutes. Directly across the street from the house is a very nice hotel (where the Queen of Emgland has stayed) with a lovely restaurant and Iguana sanctuary. Jameli’s house has a housekeeper, Juan, who lives on premises and is very kind and responsive to any need you may have during your stay. We did guided tours for cave tubing, zip lining, bird watching, and Mayan ruins and each time the guides were at the house waiting for us at the promised departure time. Bugs were not an issue for us in April. There is no oven, stovetop, or dishwasher at the house but we made do with the toaster oven and electric griddle. The on-site laundry in each unit was great! Walk-in showers were a treat! Will hopefully be back again someday!

Beautiful, well maintained house in San Ignacio. Very clean and comfortable. I would absolutely stay here. Nice location across the street from the San Ignacio Resort which was a great place to eat dinner especially if you are tired. Many other restaurants are a short walk or car ride away. Although we chose not to walk along the road in the dark (because there are not big sidewalks or shoulders) but we did walk down into town during the day; the drivers seem well aware that there are pedestrians and respectful about allowing them to cross. The property manager is the owner of Cayo Inland Expeditions; she contacted us well before our trip to inquire about any tours to the ruins, caves, near San Ignacio and we arranged tours through her. The tours picked us up and brought us back to the house and they were excellent. Highly recommend both Suzie’s and Cayo Inland Expeditions.

We had a fantastic stay at Susie’s Villa’s. Jameli is a fabulous host. She was very responsive and proactive in her communications and provided great local recommendations. The property manager and caretaker (Terry and Juan) were available to help us with everything we needed during our stay and arranged tours of the ruins, cave tubing and a trip into guatamala. They were so flexible and accommodating with meeting the needs of our group. Collectively everyone ensured our group of 6 had a fantastic vacation. San Ignacio is a beautiful community with many wonderful places in walking distance of the villa. we would definitely stay here again.

Suzie's Hilltop Villa is a wonderful place to stay while visitng San Ignacio. It's very well located and can easily walk into town or just a few minutes drive. We rented both units and had the kids stay in one while the adults in the other. We were greeted upon arrival by Terry, one of the property managers, and she brought us beverages and snacks to welcome us. She and her husband, John, own Cayo Inland Expeditions, who we booked all our excursions with and did not regret or disppoint. Juan, the grounds caretaker, is also just a few steps away if you need anything. For whatever reason, only the downstairs shower in unit #2 had hot water so we all showered there and all the pillows were a little too firm for our taste. Otherwise, we were very happy here!

My family and I had a fantastic time staying at this Airbnb. Jameli was prompt in getting back to me with questions, and the crib and highchair that I had asked for were already set up when we arrived. The hammocks were a peaceful place to soak in the morning sounds, and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The house is at the top of a hill, so getting back home after walking around town was always a bit of a workout, but no complaints! The hotel across the street had a great bar and dinner service if you don't feel like cooking at home/going into town to get food.

my favorite place in San Ignacio! great hosts and Juan is the best. I'll be back!

We had a wonderful time at Suzie’s Hilltop Estate. It was a short walk down the hill to everything San Ignacio had to offer. Janelle also connected us with Cayo Inland Expeditions that provided transportation to and from BZE. We had an unforgettable adventure for the whole family. We plan to come back with our kids soon!

Host Response

Richard I also own the home next door and due to road construction and closure my guests at the Casa Suzie needed to share the entrance with the villas. I failed to tell you that - my apologies.

We had an exceptional experience staying at Jameli's house! The entire process from booking to departure was effortless, thanks to Jameli, Terry, and Juan's responsiveness and helpfulness whenever we had questions or needed assistance. Terry's thoughtful gesture of having cold water, beer, and snacks ready for us at check-in added a personal touch that made us feel welcomed and appreciated. Juan's tips and assistance, including arranging transportation for us, further enhanced our stay and made it even more enjoyable. The beauty and immaculate condition of the house provided a comfortable and serene environment throughout our stay. It's clear that the combination of excellent hospitality, personal touches, and a pristine setting made our experience exceptional. I would gladly stay here again in the future!

This place exceeded our expectations in every way. It was comfortable, clean and had amazing views . Above all was the exceptional staff. Jameli was amazing and made sure to answer all of my questions about Belize. She was always extremely prompt and helpful. Terry the property manager greeted us upon arrival and called in for a pizza order and walked us over to pick it up when we were all starving upon our arrival. Her and her husband were also super helpful setting up tours for us during our stay. Definitely book tours with their company Cayo Inland Expeditions - they have great rates and amazing tours. Juan the caretaker was always available if you needed anything. Jameli and Terry even both checked in with us to let us know they would help in anyway if hurricane Beryl affected our travels. They were all available at a moments notice if we needed anything. I have never experienced such hospitality and such amazing service, I can’t say enough great things about this place.

Really nice clean, comfortable, spacious place to stay in San Ignacio. It is at the top of a steep hill, so older or less fit people might have some difficulty if you didn’t rent a car but it worked fine for us.

All things considered, this may be the best Air BnB experience I’ve ever had. Jameli was far more accommodating than she needed to be. During the planning of this trip, she refered me to a local guide that was fantastic. She also provided answers/suggestions to my many questions. I was concerned I was asking too many. We found the house with very little issue, were greeted by Juan the “on-site guy” and were surprised at just how much space there was. It more than accommodated 4 adults and two kids. The property is brilliant! It’s at the top of a hill, has a great view which I enjoyed every morning with coffee on the top deck (morning sounds of birds, roosters in the distance…) If you’re looking to stay there, grab it while it’s available. When I come back, it will be the first place I check. Could not have been happier. Than you Jameli.

Amazing place in San Ignacio! We felt taken care of by Jameli (super responsive, helpful, and accommodating), Terry (brought over snacks and offered great-sounding expeditions we wish we had more time to do), and secure with Juan on the property. Easy to find, easy parking, overall easy to get to the various ruin sites, and walkable to the main town (on a hill as the name suggests, so we opted to drive into town and found it easy to park on the streets every time). Bigger than we expected with plenty of space for the five of us across the two connected villas. The two dipping pools were clean with pool towels and outdoor lights provided.

Beautiful place in an amazing, peaceful location overlooking the entire town! The pool out back was perfect for sunset! The house was spotlessly clean, with beautiful, modern fixtures. For a group of 12, The bed situation was lacking, and left 4 people sleeping on couches/fold out futons which wasn’t great. Thankfully, they were our young adult children and not older folks. This was our only issue! We made it work, and LOVED our time! Coffee de los Mayas was the spot for morning coffee and afternoon energy drinks pick me ups!

We had a great time at Jameli’s place! The property feels private but is close to lots of shops and restaurants. Everything was very cute and well-equipped and the beds were comfortable. It was a great base for exploring San Ignacio!

Jameli's property is incredible. We made the trip with 4 adults and we couldn't be more impressed with the location. Of all the great places to stay in San Ignacio, we found the crown jewel. Terry the property manager and Juan the maintenance guy were incredible. I've never felt more welcomed, comfortable, and safe. If you're looking for a great opportunity to immerse yourself in a great community in the heart of Belize, this is it!

Had a group of ten staying in both villas, and it was a great location and great place to stay. We loved the surrounding city and the groundskeeeper, Juan, was incredibly helpful at showing us the ropes! The beautiful bathrooms are open concept with the bedrooms, so as per the recommendation of prior reviews, we used removable command hooks to hang shower curtains. This gave everyone some privacy. Highly recommend this property!

Our family of four stayed here with another family of four (four adults and four kids, ages 6 to 10). The place was clean and the bedrooms and bathrooms were large. The caretaker on the property, Juan, was great! He helped us get charcoal for grilling steaks and was so kind. There was fruit and drinks waiting for us when we arrived, which we really appreciated after a long day of travel. The kids enjoyed playing in the large yard. There was a taco stand across the street that was AMAZING. We booked with Cayo Inland Tours (connected with the property managers) and they did a wonderful job at a competitive price (ATM cave and cave tubing). A few things to note: the kitchen is small. No pots or burner for boiling water. Just a microwave, toaster oven, and electric skillet. No real knives for chopping. If you are looking to cook your own dinners, etc, it’s not ideal. Also no place for all 8 of us to eat together. Overall, though, great place to stay.

Our group of 8 adults fit perfectly in this rental. Very clean upon arrival, and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The house offers privacy but is very walkable to town or the great restaurant in the resort across the street. Fair warning, the walk back from town is on a very steep street. Pools were great to wind down our days in. Had plenty of pool towels. We appreciated the response from the host and going out of their way to obtain an item we needed prior to arrival. Thank you!

Our stay at Suzie's Villas was fantastic! It's the perfect location. Peaceful and green, and a close walk to all the shops and restaurants downtown. The view from the balcony and the patio are breathtaking, especially in the morning and at sunset. Juan is wonderful and nearby to help with anything that comes up, and Terry, the property manager, owns a tour and transportation company, so arranging for transit and tours is easy. Sitting on the patio by the pool was exactly what we needed after active excursions like Caracol or ATM Cave. We fell in love with all the different birds that would perch near the porch. Jameli is incredibly responsive and answered any questions we had right away. The only hard part was leaving! I can't recommend Suzie's enough.
