The place is unique, it has all the amenities we needed, the bathtub outside is an interesting take, just got to fight off all the miskitoes or use it during the day. The lights were very pretty outside. We enjoyed our stay While laying outside I saw a Toucan, which was cool

Perfection! Alex gave us recommendations that we checked out and loved. The property was clean and comfortable. Macho, who lives on the property showed us around and pointed out a sloth that we were able to spot most days there. It was a perfect getaway for my husband and I. Close to wonderful restaurants and exciting and informative tours. We fell in love with Costa Rica and its people with this awesome chalet as our cozy home base.

Annie and Alex were very responsive. The chalet was in a great location and was very peaceful. Close to sites, tours, restaurants, and grocery. The space was perfect for a solo traveler and quiet. It rained a lot and enjoyed the rain on the metal roof. I would recommend their place as a local stay close to the sites without being touristy.

Great place, everything as shown and described in the listing. The accommodation is very nice, comfortable and was very clean. It's also easy to get to and very well located, close to many activities to do in the area. The hosts were always attentive and responded quickly when we contacted them. We really enjoyed our stay, and I definitely recommend it.

This little chalet is the perfect, cozy oasis hidden on the edge of the rain forest. It was super straight forward to find and upon arrival they had a little welcome package for us on the bed with some iced tea and snacks. The chalet itself is stunning and was very clean. We found that the bed was the most comfortable bed we’ve slept on so far in CR. The chalet is located super close to the Main Street in Bijagua with lots of restaurants and stores and is also very close to Rio Celeste Waterfall. Alex sent us recommendations for the area for different tours and restaurants. Also, the instructions for the chalet were detailed and clear. While we were heading out in the morning we met Macho, who is the sweetest guy. He introduced himself and invited us over to see some birds on the property as well as a sloth that he spotted within the canopy of the trees. We were super grateful for the kindness he offered us and advice for Rio Celeste. We loved our stay, Highly recommend this chalet

A beautiful and quiet place, you can see many animals day and night. Everything was spotless. There are many activities nearby and there are delicious restaurants in the village. An incredible stay.

An absolute gem in La Fortuna! ​This tiny house is located in the most perfect spot. It’s incredibly peaceful and puts you right in the heart of nature. We loved falling asleep to the sounds of insects at night and waking up to the beautiful songs of birds and wildlife in the morning—it’s the ultimate place to relax and unplug. ​The location is unbeatable. You feel totally secluded, yet you’re only a few minutes away from downtown’s great restaurants, the local hot springs, and Arenal Volcano. The weather can be unpredictable, but we were so thrilled that after a full night of rain, the skies cleared up enough on our second day to give us a stunning view of the volcano right from the tiny house! We had an amazing stay and would absolutely choose this place again whenever we return to La Fortuna. Highly recommended!

We loved staying at this secluded, peaceful chalet just a few minutes from the main street of Bijagua! The modern treehouse design was so cool and cosy during some rainy mornings and evenings, it really felt like an authentic rainforest experience. A warm bath in the tucked away outdoor tub was a lovely way to spend a morning until the drizzle passed and we headed into town. The location was very close to some excellent wildlife tours at Frog's Paradise and Finca Verde, allowing a short easy drive for the night tours where the animals were most active. Macho was so friendly, talking to us about the town, and his travels to Switzerland that inspired the chalet design of the treehouse. We would love to come back some day!

What an absolutely beautiful place. Hosts were extremely response and kind. It was such a relaxing atmosphere and we felt so rested when we left.

The chalet is incredible, there are great restaurants nearby, and it's very easy to get to the Vulcán Tenorio National Park from there. Super clean and comfortable place. Highly recommended 🫶🏻

Such an incredibly lovely cabin near Rio Celeste. We were also close to some great places to eat. The room was very clean, and we appreciated being able to lounge outside in the trampoline hammock area! :) I would definitely stay here again.

Had a very easy and peaceful stay at this airbnb! It was exactly as described and the airbnb included everything we needed for our stay. I felt safe considering this is a private and more hidden location. I am especially impressed with the deal considering the location and volcanic view! I would 100% recommend this stay to anyone planning on visiting La Fortuna.

I highly recommend this stay! In a peaceful secluded area with fun things nearby. Host recommended tons of great places to eat and things to do. Super clean and nice all around. We had howler monkeys howling when we woke up which was scary but super cool experience.

The place is beautiful, super quiet, very clean, and all the spaces are super comfortable. Perfect for taking a few days to rest and relax.

Such a cool spot! We loved hearing all the rainforest animals at night, and were awaken by howler monkeys in the morning who were just 100 yards away in the neighbors trees. Also saw spider monkeys and basilisk by just walking the road. What a great environment for a stay!

Prime location, spectacular views of the volcano in a fairly quiet area, lots of peace.

Our stay at this chalet was amazing. The place is very well designed, it's comfortable and has everything you need to enjoy both a short and a long stay. Surrounded by nature, we were able to observe toucans, howler monkeys and even meliponas (native bees that don't sting) on the property, which was something really special. And the bed deserves a special mention: it's very comfortable! Waking up to the sounds of the forest and a good cup of coffee was one of the best moments of the trip. We highly recommend it. As a bonus, Sloth Forest is just 5 minutes away, where for about $20 USD you can see sloths, frogs, birds and lots of wildlife in their natural habitat. An experience that is well worth it.

This property has been a true highlight of our stay in Costa Rica. Spider and howler monkeys hang out in the trees along the edge of the property, the birds seem to love the open areas around the location too. There’s also a hidden natural spring that comes up from the ground right next to the cabin that turns into a Creek downstream (very cool!). Alex’s father lives on the property and greeted us with his sweet dog Mango. He was so kind and welcoming and even gave us a platter of fresh bananas and other fruits off the property, and told us about the spring, and offered us the freedom to explore the entire property which was absolutely stunning! This place is well worth considering if you are staying in this area.

Truly charming little house. Very efficient and quiet. Just far enough away from La Fortuna and its noise. There was coffee left in the coffee maker, dishes that were more or less clean, and a few hairs in the shower, but these were minor issues compared to the charm of the place. The host was very attentive.

The chalet was nestled into a little neighborhood on the host's property, and it felt quite private. The bed was super comfortable, the place was extremely clean, and the surroundings - including the sounds of birds and monkeys - were delightful. The bathtub outside was a special luxury! The Lizzard accommodation matched the description perfectly; everything was very well maintained. There was plenty of privacy. We had a great view of the Arenal Volcano, which was a big plus for me. In short, I would highly recommend this mini house.

Annie & Alex’s place was absolutely beautiful & even better in person than the photos. The space was spotless, thoughtfully designed, & felt like the perfect peaceful rainforest escape. We especially loved the welcome basket & the tub on the deck, which was so relaxing after long adventure days. We did arrive fairly late at night, & as we got closer to the area, we were a little unsure at first - but the moment we arrived, our minds were completely at ease. The property felt safe, private, peaceful, & truly special, so don’t let a late-night arrival worry you at all. Wonderful hosts & an unforgettable stay. We’d absolutely recommend this gem to anyone visiting the area!

Beautiful cabin with nice view. Everything is exactly how described. It was easy to find and is clean. Host is quick to reply and helpful. One thing to note is that there were men working on their yard and it didn’t feel private enough to use the outdoor bathtub comfortably. The property is within a town and has neighbors so it’s not as secluded as the listing makes it out to be.

A lovely place to stay, I loved everything. A very quiet area close to Pueblo de la Fortuna. We got around by car, so we had no problem visiting the planned sites. Annie and Alex were always helpful; they were very kind in letting us come by to pick up some items we had left behind during our stay. In short, 100% recommended.

The chalet is cozy and comfortable, located on a private property close to multiple outdoor attractions. The unit is outfitted with a small kitchenette, dining area, nice bathroom, and comfortable bed. While the space is on the smaller side, the lofted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling glass that make up the front of the unit make it feel spacious. The front of the unit has a small walkway with outdoor chairs at the end, an outdoor tub, and a net to lay on if you want to enjoy being amongst the trees. The highlight of our stay was the family of nearly 10 capuchin monkeys that came down from the trees and visited one morning.

The cabin and hosts were amazing, but the true hidden blessing of our trip was Rafael “Macho” Rodríguez. When we realized I had forgotten my driver’s license, our whole trip felt like it might fall apart. But Rafael and his wife stepped in and treated my wife and me like family. They helped us, guided us, and made us feel safe when we were far from home. He has one of those rare souls that carries peace, kindness, and light. What could have been the most stressful part of our trip became one of the most meaningful because of him. The best part of traveling is not always the places, it is the people who change your journey. Rafael and his family have been the best part of our trip so far, and we will never forget them. I truly hope life returns every bit of their kindness back to them tenfold. Thank you for reminding us that there are still beautiful people in this world. We came to Costa Rica for the views, but left this place with something even more meaningful. Truly unforgettable

Our stay in Bijagua was incredibly peaceful, surrounded by lush nature and wildlife—it felt like a true escape. The ambiance was so romantic, perfect for relaxing and slowing down together. A really special place we won’t forget.

Great place to stay surrounded by nature, just a few minutes by car from La Fortuna. The view of the volcano was fantastic. On the positive side, Alex was on site in no time and repaired the hot tub after I informed him that it was broken. So, we were still able to go swimming after all.

Mr. Macho gave us recommendations for hiking on the nearby trail and explained that a river rises there 💯. Thank you very much for everything.

It exceeded my expectations, and the photos don't do justice to how lovely this place is. I loved that they have thought of everything, from the bed, which is super comfortable, to the relaxing atmosphere created by the lighting, the finishes, and even the smallest details have been very well thought out in this place. I would definitely stay here again, and I recommend it without hesitation.

We had a great time; everything was clean and tidy. Comfortable, modern, with TV, air conditioning, kitchen, coffee maker… Really, everything was perfect; the mattress was very thick and comfortable. The bathroom was also perfect, complete with towels, shower gel, shampoo, hairdryer… Congratulations, excellent attention to detail

We loved our stay, the beautiful house and the welcome package. Monkeys came to visit around dusk and dawn.

Alex and Annie's place is truly special and an absolute must for anyone who wants to experience the feeling of staying in a tropical jungle (although the house is located close to the village, which can be reached in a few minutes). As soon as you arrive, you are immediately enveloped by the sounds of the forest. A wonderful experience! The house, the terrace with the jetty, and a small “jungle viewing platform” are very stylishly designed and, lit up with the lights in the evening, a magical place. In the morning, two capuchin monkeys peered curiously into the house from a nearby branch. And Macho, Alex's father-in-law, pointed out a family of capuchin monkeys to us, which we were able to observe for a long time. If you want to experience something like this, don't hesitate to come here.

The mini casa is perfect. Beautiful setting, birdsong, peaceful. La Fortune is just a few minutes away. We had trouble leaving. If we go back to Costa Rica, we'll stay here again without hesitation. Pura vida!

We just spent 2 nights at this wonderful little cabin. We loved our stay here. We had issues finding it when we arrived as we drove in at night. But Annie was super quick at showing us the way to the cabin. Our first morning we could hear the howler monkeys so close in the trees. It was such a great experience as we had never seen or heard them before. There are so many great restaurants just minutes away. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

The chalet is not completely surrounded by the forest and remains close to the road, but that is enough for an incredible experience: We had a visit from a family of capuchin and howler monkeys, with toucans just above us. Exactly as in the pictures, finished to a really high standard and bathing outside amongst the trees is magic. Hosts were very responsive to messages and Alex’s Dad, Macho, lived further up the property and was so kind and friendly. The Hummingbird Cafe is a short walk up the road where we watched them whilst we had a very nice coffee. Also did a coffee tour with a lovely lad called Pablo in the same location @ Fiinca Neuva Vida. Absolutely do not miss a night tour with Tapir Valley, not cheap but the best tour we’ve done in CR. Very good coffee at Panadería y Cafetería Arte y Sabor in town. Highly recommend this charming Airbnb and thank you Macho for making us feel so welcome.

This is such a cute place, and it looks even better in person than in the photos! We truly wish we had stayed longer. It’s the perfect little house with a great design. It’s very clean, and completely immersed in nature, and super private. We heard nobody around us. There’s a small stream running nearby, and the surroundings are incredibly lush even during the dry season. We loved the hot tub and the pier. Just follow the host’s instructions regarding the water, and you’ll have no issues with hot water. It was the perfect home base while we explored the surrounding rainforests. There are also plenty of supermarkets and restaurants, tours and sloth sight seeings nearby. The host was very responsive and also shared fantastic local recommendations.

Comfortable stay surrounded by nature. The suite is set up with all the essentials. Short drive to many jungle activities. We did a nice guided tour just 5 minute walk down the road and saw lots of wild life! Thank you again!!

Everything was just right here - a perfect place to stay! The view of the volcano, the air conditioning was great, good kitchen equipment, great bed and also the bathroom is great. What makes the whole thing a perfect stay is the Jacuzzi.
