We loved our stay in Tamarindo! The house was spacious and well laid out. The pool was a great - perfect for our kids to play in and for us all to cool off. AC was great in the bedrooms and ceiling fans kept the outdoor patio/pool/living area breezy. We heard Howler Monkeys from the house at night/in the AM and saw lizards, frogs and a neighbor cat :) Walkable to everything in town, super close to a market and ATM; and a few more steps to all the restaurants and shops and the beach.

The pool was the best! A very homey atmosphere for a family weekend. Thank you for all!

We booked this place for our time in Tamarindo and it did not disappoint. The pool was such a nice luxury! It's about a 5 mi walk to tons of shops/restaurants and coffee, about 10 mins to the beach. Some of the forests on the walk were where we saw the most monkeys of our whole time in Costa Rica. We loved this spot and it worked great for our group.

Really enjoyed my stay at Casa Colonial. The team was quick with communication and very informative. I definitely utilized the pool every chance I got, was able to watch TV and relax in the pool. Perfect distance from Tamarindo, close enough to walk, but far enough that you’re not in the mix. 5 minute walk to a beach, 5 minute walk to a small supermarket, and 2 very close restaurants. Only down side was the room with the twin beds, it was very moist and could use a dehumidifier in there. All in all, I would stay again.

This was such a fun house. It would be great for kids as the pool is right in the middle and easy to cook dinner while they swim. The host was very responsive and helped with any questions. Close to town but just far enough to get out of the busy area. Rent a golf cart and you will be great. Our host set up transportation from the airport and provided all the necessary information. It rained the entire time so we will be back to visit

The villa was a unique style, the pool was great and with lots of floaties and supplies. Located a short walk away from a lovely local beach. The kitchen had all the necessary supplies, and the coffee and wine was a nice welcome. There were lots of bugs but we were warned about this so it was expected. The three bedrooms were spacious, however the beds and floors were quite creaky. Joost was communicative and helpful with suggestions on restaurants and activities. Highly recommend to groups of friends or family.

Hands down the best customer experience I have had at an Airbnb. One of the shower heads was broken and within 2 hours, all 3 shower heads in the house were replaced! The house was beautiful and the location was perfect! We will Definity be going back to stay here!

The house was amazing. Located in a great area that was very walkable to the town and beach. Having a private poole was a game changer and the house made the trip so much better. Very awesome design and highly recommend.

This place was perfect for our family with two small kids. The pool was great to have. The rooms were big, clean, nice AC units each. We could walk everywhere we needed. Close to all amenities. I would stay here again!

This space was a dream come true. It was spacious, peaceful, yet located within minutes of shops, restaurants and the beach! The private pool was amazing and the open air kitchen was so incredible, especially at night! The hosts were incredible and the sweet, friendly manager even brought a pineapple, wine and coffee for us! I will definitely rent this space again!

My husband and I stayed here for a week and loved it from check-in to check-out. The weather was very hot so I was afraid the open area would be too hot but it wasn't. Being able to see the moon and stars from inside was magical. The pool was absolutely heavenly. We loved that we were able to walk to so many excellent restaurants. we walked to the midnight market (very close) on Thursday and it was great. I highly recommend making a reservation at the Dragonfly restaurant because it's great. Again it is in easy walking distance. Little Lucha, right around the block, was delicious. I would recommend this AirBNB to anyone and everyone. Thanks for such a wonderful vacation!

The property is beautiful and conveniently located away from the noisy main roads, while communication is clear and helpful. Would definitely recommend for a group traveling to Tamarindo.

Great Airbnb! The pool was the focal point of the house and was amazing! Each bedroom had their own bathroom and AC!!! Walkable to the beach and all of the restaurants in Tamarindo! Don’t leave any open food or the ants will take over! Easy lesson learned! Beds were just okay but clean. Biggest gripe is about all three shower heads! They need to be replaced or cleaned throughly! However, this minor setback wouldn’t stop us from renting again! Loved this place!

Location was great. About a 20 minute walk into the main town and a super easy/straight walk. The place was great and the pool is an amazing touch. Would definetely stay here again!

From the moment we got in was amazing, Angela was fantastic she showed us the house, give us all recommendations about the house, the house location was great close but no to close to the madness of tamarindo, we walk into town from the house. Restaurants, supermarkets and shops are close, I love to walk so was great for Us. I recommend this house a hundred percent.

After gettjng married locally later we switched to this Airbnb to be closer to the center of town to enjoy Tamarindo and it was so amazing! My husband and I are hoping to somehow make our own home like this! It really is outside living in Such a beautiful setting! And they gave us such a beautiful welcome and were so easy to talk to for anything!!! It really was so magical and felt just like the true Costa Rica home we wanted 😍

The absolute perfect stay for Costa Rica. It’s about a 7-10 minute walk to all the restaurants and shops you could want, there’s a gym right around the corner for a week or day pass, and a super market and multiple coffee shops within 5 minutes. The pool and house were phenomenal!

Amazing place

This is truly a one of a kind (maybe even lifetime!) experience of a place to stay. Where else can you walk out of the pool and directly into the kitchen, living room or dining room? And get fresh air and breezes right into the house? We were a little worried that without AC in the main part of the house it would be uncomfortably hot. It was not an issue at all. Somehow the breezes blow in, the fans kept the air moving, and it felt so nice to hear the birds and not be stuck inside! It was also a very walkable 10-15 min into town, but note that Costa Rica is not big on sidewalks, so you do need to contend with traffic, scooters, and other walkers. But everyone does it, and makes you feel like a local! Down on the street is a place called Zolu, that makes amazing made to order food. You will sit outside and wait a bit but it was the best food we had and very reasonably priced.

My kids and I loved our stay at this house! The pool was literally and figuratively the centerpiece of the house - great for escaping the heat. Location was a plus as well. Walkable to town (though we often still drove)

An absolute gem! Close enough to great restaurants and the beach, while still quiet and private. The pool was a bonus! Everything you could want, can't wait to return. We rented a golf cart to get around, which was perfect, would do the same again. Highly recommend!

Strongly recommend this accommodation. The thing that we really loved is that you enter the home, you're still technically outdoors the common living areas are exposed to the sky but the place is nice and private for yourself and your friends. The bedrooms are fully protected which made sleeping very comfortable. It was really nice being able to jump into the pool and then walk around the common areas without having to dry off. Location was perfect. It was a peaceful location but still within walking distance of everything so just left the cars and walked everywhere. Would definitely stay here again

I booked Casa Colonial for me and my wife’e honeymoon. My wife and I agreed it was easily the best decision of the trip. Casa Colonial is walking distance from the quieter beaches of Playa Langosta, but a quick jaunt from the hustle and bustle of Tamarindo. On the days we did not feel like going out on an adventure, we were treated to the most beautiful indoor/outdoor living experience experience. The pool was refreshing and the sunbathing exquisite. The coolness of AC available for an afternoon nap and cool sleeps. The hosts are wonderful and very responsive. We were briefly without hot water due to an electrical issues, but the host took care of it very promptly. The quality of response made it barely a blip in the experience. Truly this was one of the best AirBnB experiences I have had anywhere in the world.

The home was exactly as described and the host was beyond helpful with day to day questions and helping to arrange activates. Lovely place. I recommend you try it.

We had a great time at Joost's. Christian hosted us very warmly and was very responsive to each of our requests. The accommodation is simply heavenly with the pool in the center of the house. The villa is in a very good location close to everyone but far enough to be quiet. We loved it.

Me and my 3 adult children in there 20’s stayed here and it was everything that the pictures show and better ! Outdoor living at its finest and we can’t wait to come back and stay here again! Air conditioning in each bedroom that gets very cold ! LOVED the pool ! Very clean for being outdoor living and I am very particular , but your in Costa Rica don’t go nit picking every nook and cranny you rented an Airbnb with outside living and it’s VERY CLEAN ! Upon arrival was left a bottle of wine , coffee and a pineapple:) Our host was very responsive and checked in regularly to make sure we didn’t need anything or if we needed any suggestions . You’re far enough away from town that we did not hear anything contrary to what some of the previous reviews said . This is a MUST STAY ! We loved it and were so sad to leave . We were here for 5 days and I do suggest renting a golf cart for your stay , soooo much fun and so much easier to get around it really made the trip ! Great Costa Rica Vibe

Stayed here over Christmas break with husband and 2 teens, had a wonderful time in this beautiful home! We loved the pool, the 3 private bedrooms with AC (much appreciated), the use of the washer/dryer (it rained more than we had anticipated), and the kitchen amenities. The host, Angelica, is very friendly and responsive and helped us get settled in the house. Easy walk down to beach and town from the home. Would love to stay here again!

We had an amazing stay at Casa Colonial in July. The place more than lived up to the picture and reviews. The outdoor common spaces with the pool was a hit every day. Our kids lived in the pool. We enjoyed watching the howler monkeys in the tree next door and the house geckos on the walls every night. It’s definitely outdoor living and can be pretty hot in the common areas but the bedrooms are very cool and the AC works great. Showers work well and beds are comfortable. We were there 3 weeks and cooked a bunch. We loved playa langosta beach sunsets and being a little further out from the touristy tamarindo. It was an easy 10-20 min walk (which can be hot). Best surfing for beginners was 15 to 20 minute walk- or an easy Uber in the rain. So it was nice to rent a golf cart for part of the time. There are great restaurants, close in playa langosta and fun sports bar with pool ping-pong and more just down the block. Very responsive host! Highly recommend.

Traveled here for my 21st birthday, we had no problems and the time of our lives!

We stayed at casa leon for 5 weeks so we are intimately familiar with the house. The location is fantastic. In the middle of everything yet on a quiet street that feels like you're in the country. But steps away and you're within walking distance to restaurants, shops, night market, etc. Angelica and Christian were super responsive and helpful. They really went above and beyond to offer suggestions, help with booking activities, take care of the house, etc. Wonderful wonderful hosts. The house is very nice and spacious, at one point we had 6 people and it never felt crowded. Laundry worked great, pool was always clean and worked great, kitchen was well stocked with all the stuff we needed to cook. Gas BBQ was good too. Pool guy came once a week, cleaner came once a week ... Everything was well organized. We felt lucky to have spent our time there.

Awesome place if you’re looking for something private and has lots of room to kickback and relax. About a 10 min walk to town so very manageable.

Honestly no complaints about this property. We had such a great time staying at Casa Colonial during our trip. Angelica was incredibly helpful and very prompt in getting back to us with all questions. She helped us book a boat tour as well. Really fabulous stay. We loved the open air concept of the villa, the AC in each bedroom worked great and was such a relief when needing a break from the heat. The location was very close to a market, restaurants and many great beach access points. Loved jumping in the pool to cool off after all our adventures. Also loved watching the geckos climb the walls by the pool at night. Definitely book this place for your Tamarindo trip!

Staying at Casa Leon was the highlight of our trip. It was a perfect distance away from the action and all amenities. The best part was the indoor outdoor living. At a resort, I find you feel guilty for any time spent in your room and not out in the sun. This was the best of both worlds because if you just wanted to spend the day there, you were already outside when you stepped out your bedroom door. Oh and the AC in the rooms was perfect. I would definitely recommend this spot!

This house was so dreamy! It was in a great location, so we were able to walk to Playa Langosta and to Tamarindo to eat dinner or get groceries. The house was spacious and beautiful. The hosts were helpful and friendly as they were quick to respond whenever we had any questions. This is truly the best place to stay when in Tamarindo.

The place was just as described! Our family enjoyed cooling off in the crystal clear pool after coming back from town/Beach. The house is a solid 15 min walk to Tamrindo, so if you don't have a car, you'll need to keep that in mind. We had a golf cart, which you can rent just about anywhere in Tam. We also brought our 11 month old, which was very comfortable with the supplied pack & play and high chair. Wonderful vacation!

We had such a blast here. We stayed for 4ish days in the middle of April 2024, and while other reviews warned of bug issues we saw literally not one mosquito while in the Airbnb the entire time untill the very last day. I got no bites in the house, only getting a few at night at a local restaurant outside. The place is as beautiful as the pictures suggest, the bedrooms are comfy, the kitchen is very functional, the pool is super fun to have (albeit it was heavily chlorinated, but probably better that than having a dirty pool), super walkable to everywhere in town. I'd recommend this place towards the end of dry season (which is what our experience was) to anyone with no hesitation. Is it good during other seasons? You'll have to check with other people, but if you don't mind a bit of rain here and there I bet even rainy season would be fantastic. Good luck wherever you choose to go, review reader!

Great place for a balance of privacy and yet close to all Tamarindo has to offer. Great host. House is comfortable and not super fancy - it's well used and it shows. Holy Week so paid a premium.

We had just a great and relaxing vacation at this Airbnb. Many days were quite hot and we found ourselves relaxing at the courtyard pool that had plenty of shade and cooled us down especially on the hottest days. The courtyard pool was certainly a highlight for our family. The kitchen had everything we needed and the individual bedrooms had A/C and kept us cool at night. Tamarindo was a great city to have as a base in Costa Rica. We were looking for some place we could spend a week without having to travel far. The restaurants were amazing. The coffee shops were great. And the beach is beautiful. We definitely recommend Tamarindo if you like a smaller city with great restaurants. It's not super remote and not super city city so was a good balance for us.

The house has a great layout and three nice bedrooms with bathrooms. They surround an outdoor pool which is very attractive. The kitchen at the end of the pool is functional and has a great dining and lounge area. It was very hot during our visit, so especially helpful for us was having air-conditioning in each of the bedrooms!

Fantastic Villa for our party of three couples ( 6 people); layout of Casa Leon was exceptional with the open to the sky center of the house with pool, kitchen, dining & living room & the three separate bedrooms/bathrooms with air conditioning.

We had an amazing stay! We were a group of 5 females and felt safe at all times. We were a quick walk to the beach. Around a 10-15 minute walk to the heart of town which can be a little challenging in the heat but was not an issue. The home was beautiful and the “living room pool” perfected the stay. Angélica gave us recommendations for the local area and assisted us for a smooth check in. This home made our trip!

We had an amazing time at casa Leon. The location was perfect - right by a grocery store and pharmacy and about a 10 min walk to the beach. Angelica was very easy to reach and was so helpful with recommendations etc 100% recommend staying here!

Loved our stay at Casa Leon. Great location, roomy and bathrooms for each bedroom were excellent. We loved the open air and the pool…much needed! Laundry was a bonus and the bbq for fresh shrimp was perfect. Internet was good but power does go and off sometimes. If the grey tabby cat shows up he respects the boundary of the door and likes scrambled eggs, shrimp and chicken carcasses.

Casa Colonial was an amazing home for our family of 4 to stay in. We loved the location in Playa Langosta that was peaceful and had a much less crowded beach that we could easily walk to. We felt very safe in this open air home.

We loved our stay, yes the house seems a little older but you find all the necessary amenities there. The rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. Angélica, the concierge, is amazing; she helped us with advice and was always there for us when we needed something. The house is in the air style open to the outside and there is only air conditioning in the rooms and that is fine that way. There are fans in every common room and the air conditioning rooms works very well. You have about 8 minutes walk to a sublime beach (Playa Langosta) and about 14 minutes on foot or 3 minutes by Uber. You have a great little grocery store within 5 minutes on foot. The only lack we noticed was that there was no hair dryer, umbrella, or snorkeling equipment; that's all that was missing. Don't hesitate to rent this house.

Beautiful home. Was concerned with no AC in living area but it was NOT an issue at all...was comfortable. Mini split ACs in bedrooms kept the rooms very very comfortable & cool. The pool was so nice and great to jump into after a day out. I would recommend!

Beautiful home in a quieter neighborhood just up the hill from bustling downtown Tamarindo. Playa langosta was an awesome beach with much less people than Tamarindo beach. All around great stay.

We loved it! Although we visited in low season and there wasn’t as much wildlife as we were expecting but this place was like our own little resort with the pool and open air concept with the waterfall, it was so relaxing also a very short distance to the beach 🌴 definitely would recommend this place for a group of friends ! Each room was private with its own private bathroom. Would love to return again soon

What a beautiful airbnb. Having the pool right in the house was truly amazing. Rooms were air-conditioned, so you were not hot at night. Quite area, easy to walk to everything, clean and exacty as described in the description. The host is so helpful. She helped book excusions for us and arranged transportation to and from the airport. She was so easy to communicate with. I can't wait to return to this airbnb and will be recommending it to my family and friends.

Beautiful house at the perfect location, only 10 minutes walking distance to the beach. We received a welcome gift from the host which we greatly appreciated. Beach chairs, a cooler and pool noodles are provided to take with you to the beach. We enjoyed our stay and plan to come back!

We stayed in this home for 6 days and it was great! The location made everything very easy to get to. You're able to walk to the stores and restaurants within just a few minutes, however it the actual street the house is located on is very quiet. The open air concept of the house was super fun since the pool is in the middle of the home. The beach is walkable as well. All the bedrooms stayed cool and the common areas always had a nice breeze and ceiling fans. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone that wants to be close to the busy area of Tamarindo, but also wants to be on a quiet street.
