8BR Villa in Nuevo Vallarta

Excellent, 3 months ago

We had a group of 14 stay and it was amazing. The pool was heated and clean - the daily turndown service was lovely. I would recommend this Airbnb to any large group! Beware the hill is quite steep coming back home so keep that in mind!

AMAZING Stay at Casa Mystika....From the moment I began communicating with Barbara I felt our Bachlorette party of 18 was going to be easy to plan! She gave me lots of suggestions for Dining, Transportation and in house catering...all were great! We had many different arrival and departure times and she accomodated them all. The house and living areas were unreal.. The house was well planned and gives each room their own kitchen, safe, balcony and entrance, perfect for large parties. Never once did you feel like there were 18 people in the house. Would love to be back there now!

Casa Mistika certainly lives up to the name. The property was breathtaking, the views immaculate, and the open concept made it perfect for a group retreat as everyone has plenty of personal space but also more than enough common area to share and enjoy. The cleaning crew was incredibly kind, friendly, and happy to accommodate anything we needed. the went not only the extra mile, but the extra 10 miles to make us feel comfortable, taken care of, and right at home. We would come back any time, and if sharing the price across many guests it is very reasonable accommodations though certainly on the more expensive side, but absolutely worth the extra. Thank you so much to our hosts for sharing this beatiful property with us.

Great house and location. Good for a group. Housekeeping staff also does a good job. Barbara is not a great host. A few days before check in, we checked on Airbnb to see if anyone would be staying up until when we got there and it showed there was no rentals. I asked about early check in and she mentioned it would depend on when other guests left. The day of check in we had no where to store our many bags. I asked Barbara on several occasions if we could park our bags there and she used the “safety of her. guests” as an excuse to not let us in, odd since there were no guests. Regardless we waited, and on check out day I told Barbara we needed to leave a couple bags in the lobby until our cars got there. She did not give us the same treatment she claimed she was giving the supposed previous guests. Basically threw us in the street and called Airbnb on us. And when we returned just an hour later for a bag we left she sent a message claiming we “broke in”. Not worth the price.

stunning sayulita stay!! each room was uniquely incredible and the decor made us all feel at home. with 8 bed/8 bath, everybody could have their own vacation spot within the house. you could truly see the whole city from the penthouse suite. the cleaning crew came in and did a great job every day and there was filtered water available on every floor. i will say the pool didn’t get any direct sunlight (january) and the hot tub wasn’t working which was a bummer. i’d recommend this house to anybody looking for a relaxing, quieter, chic house for a large group of people! would 100% recommend this house over hotel in the city (very loud until very late i heard). will come back!!

We had a fantastic stay at Casa Mistika. The property was even more beautiful in person than the photos depicted. Each guest had their own suite with balcony, private kitchen and sweeping views. The landscaping was gorgeous. The staff were very sweet and thorough. Barbara recommended excellent caterers for two of the nights during our week. Our entire group was blown away by the beauty and comfort of the house. The only drawback was that the pool and jacuzzi were cold. We were told the pool was not heated but were surprised that the hot tub was not. It was such a beautiful little nook and would have been lovely to spend time there. In fact, if both were heated we probably would have spent more time on the grounds. Overall we had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed the house. The view from the top room was especially grand.

We were very pleased with our stay at Casa Mistika. The staff was helpful and worked hard to keep the place clean. The location was also great for quickly getting into town. The views from the rooms were beautiful! Barbara was very responsive. I would definitely come back.

Our group loved the home!! It was perfect for our group of 10 girls. The house is amazing and has everything you can imagine! The housekeepers come everyday and help clean the house which was a great plus. Barbara was so quick to respond and had an answer to every question we had. She made our trip super easy! Would definitely come back. The only thing I wish was that we cleaning fee + tip was included already in our stay because we didn’t account for it until the end. But it was well worth it!

I rented Casa Mistika to celebrate my 50th birthday with 12 friends. When we first arrived, I was blown away! The home is even more beautiful in-person than in the photos. The cold water soaking tub was so refreshing in July. We all spent most of our time in the pool and jacuzzi. The home is decorated with beautiful artwork. The lights hanging from the trees were stunning! We enjoyed the iguanas who came to visit us. Watch out, don't stand under them....or you get pooped on. We had dinner in town a couple nights, but the other days we hired Chef Cecelia to come and prepare breakfast and dinner for us. Highly recommend! Casa Mistika is magical! I had the best 50th bday week ever!

What an incredible gem! Pictures capture the beauty but seeing it in person will exceed your expectations- This property shines in every way. Each villa is decorated with such beautiful detail. The bonus is the iguanas you will see in the trees as you are enjoying the pool and the beautiful birds that live in the area. The property is very stocked with beach towels to use each day at the beach which is a nice walk through town or by the pool and our favorite cafe was just down the bottom of the hill. Don't miss the coffee, bowls and smoothies at Anchor Cafe. The property is in a perfect location. Away from the nighttime noise but easy to walk to meals and shops. Once at the property it feels like your private oasis. If you are planning to do a lot of cooking there I would plan to get those items outside of Sayulita as the grocery stores are limited once there and there is a walk up the hill with supplies unless you have your own transportation. We questioned if we needed a golf cart or car and didn't find we needed one. We walked everywhere or taxis are easy if you need it. Sandra is on site to help with anything you need and manages a cleaning crew that is there making sure everything is beautiful each day. She is so lovely and cares deeply that everyone is comfortable and having a great time. Everything from start to finish with this property was seamless. Barbara was so communicative at any questions we had - check in was super easy and we felt taken care of in every way. This was one of the best Air B N B experiences we have had. Gorgeous in every way- we hope to be back !

The location and the layout of the house is ideal! It is very comfortable for 16 people. We never felt crowded. However, there are a few things that I would have liked to know before the trip and that were not quite clear in the listing. The layout of the house was important for us as certain people are up earlier than others and some go to bed earlier than others. There is only one main kitchen which is in the penthouse. We had no idea. I know that many of the units have their own kitchenettes, but I didn’t know that the main and only fully functioning kitchen was in the penthouse. There is just one room with no view or patio, that room is in the penthouse and is the least desirable room. It would have been nice to know about that room. It might be helpful to number the rooms in the penthouse as well like the rest of the house. The penthouse palapa as it is referred to, which is the highest room, just has a shower. The bathtub is located in one of the two lower rooms in the penthouse, just for clarification. The penthouse palapa needs a refrigerator as well. The other reviews clearly stated there is nowhere to charge golf carts; though, there is an outlet outside. I am not sure why the house does not provide electricity at that outlet. Also, the power does go out often around town, I knew that. However, we did not know the water is through a pump system and also stops when the electricity is out. I walked the street and could hear generators at other homes. This size home should have a generator especially if both the power and water go out at the same time. Another suggestion is that there should be a hairdryer in every bathroom as I had to pack a hairdryer. Barbara recommended Alma as a chef who cooked dinner for us one night. I highly recommend Alma! Barbara was very accessible and communicated constantly. The staff was excellent and helpful and cleaned every day. Would I stay here again? Absolutely, 100%.

This place was an absolute dream! Our group was sad to leave and is already planning our next visit. The photos of this villa were great, but nothing compared to seeing it in person. The house was just incredible, and the host was very helpful and responsive throughout our stay. We had a large group with both kids and adults, there was plenty of space and entertainment for everyone. Cleaning staff came daily, they were polite and helpful and did a great job. The location is perfect- it's situated on a small hill right near the heart of downtown Sayulita. It was a pretty easy walk down to the town, we also rented 2 golf carts which made getting around the town super easy. If you are looking for a place to stay with a large group- this is it!!

This was one of the most beautiful places I have stayed! Barbaras communication was next level and she responded very quickly and also answered all of my questions and concerns and gave me wonderful recommendations for my bachelorette weekend. The house is very clean, with the most unreal views and decor. I would say that I was unaware of the cleaning services that comes every day. The cleaning ladies were wonderful and came and cleaned the whole house each day which is a luxury but if you are wanting more of a private experience the cleaning ladies will be around the house from 10am - 2pm. The location is perfect! We were debating whether to rent golf carts but it was just a short walk into town and very easy to get around! I had the best time and can’t wait to go back again.

Wonderful house as advertised.

Cannot say enough good things about this Air Bnb! I booked this for my sister's bachelorette party (15 girls) and rented out the entire villa. The house is gorgeous and in a great location with an easy walk into town and to the beach. Sandra greeted us at the house and made sure we were very comfortable upon arrival. The rooms are all very spacious and clean with their own bathrooms and majority of rooms have their own kitchenette as well. Daily cleaning service to make the beds and provide clean towels was a great touch. 10/10 recommend booking here for large groups!

This is easily the best rental I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. I rented the entire complex with a group of 16 for a week and we all agreed we couldn't think of a single complaint. The house is meticulously cared for, clean, and well appointed. Sandra and the housekeeping team were incredibly sweet and helpful. They kept the house in immaculate shape all week (no small task with 16 guests), and always wowed us with clever towel sculptures and thoughtful touches in the rooms. The location is perfect in my opinion. Far enough away from the town square for peace a quiet (the bars and clubs are quite loud at night), but still close enough that running back and forth to restaurants and the beach on the foot didn't feel like a trek. I had originally thought it might be necessary to rent a golf cart, as many visitors do in Sayulita, but we were fine without one. Side note if you do decide to get a golf cart: The house does not have a place to charge electric carts so you will need a gas-powered golf cart and there is only one company in town renting those - so book early! Barbara is a responsive and helpful host who was great to work with. She was able to connect us with a private chef, Alma, who prepared a few breakfasts and dinners for us at the house that were delicious. This is a great option for large groups who want to eat together without hunting for a restaurant large enough to seat everyone together. Highly recommended!

The place was incredible! Barbara was so responsive to our questions and the staff who work at the house are nothing short of amazing! They were so generous and tried to help us with our requests as much as they could. I would highly recommend this place!

Host Response

Thank you for your kind review! We really enjoyed helping you plan your trip! I hope you come back soon!

Our stay was a big mixed bag. I definitely wouldn’t go back. Pros: - The home is beautiful, new. - The location is great. Up gringo hill, but not so far up that it’s a pain to walk. - The entire staff with the exception of the house manager were lovely, happy, welcoming people. - We had a large number of people, some who didn’t want to share beds. Barbara was kind enough to go out and get deluxe inflatable mattresses for these people. - Never had a problem with hot water, and the showers are beautiful. - The whole house was spotlessly clean. - The sheets and towels were always fresh, and replaced/changed whenever we asked. - Very nice soaps, shampoos, and conditioners were included. - We only briefly used any of the AC units, but they worked well. Cons: - The house manager (whose name starts with S) is dishonest. - The pool was not heated. The house manual says it can be, but the house manager said it wasn’t possible. We found out that wasn’t true after I spoke to Barbara about it, but it was too late. We were leaving the next day. - The house manager took the majority of the tips we left for staff. - We hired a private chef for a number of meals. His team was treated poorly by the house manager, including her taking pictures of their vehicle. Not sure what she planned to do with that info. She also demanded that they take the dinner garbage with them which made no sense. We would have just as much garbage cooking for ourselves as the chefs had. We were never asked to deal with our own garbage though. - Very little sun on the pool deck. We were there in February, so I’m sure later in the year there would be more sun, but it seemed too early in the year to get more than 3 hours of sun. - The kitchens are not well equipped. The pots and pans are cheap and few, the knives dull. There are no ovens, even in the penthouse. - I have a service dog that Barbara kindly made a house rule exception for, which I deeply appreciated. I shared a number of documents with her including her training certification, letter of health from her vet, certification of all vaccinations. Barbara apparently forgot about this, which led to a confrontation over the phone and with the house manager on our first morning. - One guest left before the rest of us. We were still using the fridge in the room, and the rest of the room for storage. The house manager locked us out even though it was paid in full to the end of our stay. - The BBQ is missing a wheel, so rocks back and forth, which isn’t great from a safety perspective nor from an ease of cooking perspective. - There are broken tiles at the bottom of the main stairs in the house near the pool. One guest cut her foot on the broken shards. After spending a substantial amount of money to rent this whole place for 8 nights, we shouldn’t have left feeling stressed out and unhappy with our decision to stay there. I do not recommend.

I booked this wonderful house to celebrate my 50th with friends and family and it did not disappoint! Even though there were 14 of us the house never felt crowded since it’s so spacious and everyone had some privacy since many of the rooms are in fact small casitas with their own kitchen. It is beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished with lots of outdoor space for lounging and eating. The location is perfect. Quiet and tranquil but only a 10 minute walk to the main square. Barbara was very easy to communicate with and Sandra and her housekeeping team were amazing. Will definitely recommend to others!

Kimberly, Thank you for your review. We enjoyed hosting you and your friends. Happy to know you all had a good time, we hope to see you soon!

Our stay at Casa Mistika was perfect. We rented out the entire villa and it was an incredible time. The villa is close enough to town to easily walk but far enough away that there's no noise. The rooms are large, comfortable, AC equipped, and have small kitchens. There's lovely staff members that come each morning to clean the rooms and common areas as well. I've never had that before at AirBnB but it ended up being very nice going to bed every night in a clean room with fresh sheets. We also hired Chef Cecilia Mendicuti to cook for 2 breakfasts and a dinner while we were there and were blown away by her food. (https://www.sayulitalife.com/chefmendicuti) 10/10. When I'm back in town I'm staying here.

Casa Mistika was absolutely incredible. We had a wonderful stay and the property exceeded our expectations. It was equipped with everything we needed and more, offered stunning views, and was a quick walk to town and the beach. We made so many memories here! Thank you, Barbara, for sharing your magical home with us!

Barbara’s villa was absolutely fantastic. She always responded quickly and was very attentive to our group’s needs. There are truly no words to describe how beautiful the villa is!! Unbelievable. There is also a cleaning staff that comes every day from 10 am - 2 pm - they are so kind and make the villa spotless! Overall, it was lovely and we will certainly be back. I’ve recommended this location to my friends and family and strongly suggest you stay here!

This was an amazing stay. Great location, unbelievable home and amenities.

Casa Mistika does not disappoint. I stayed there for my birthday week with 7 of my friends. We all had our own room and bathroom, and plenty of room to spread out. That being said, it would be a great place to come back with several couples and still not feel on top of each other. The villa is absolutely beautiful, both pools are fantastic, and the main kitchen is a great gathering place for breakfasts, cocktails, whatever. We had a chef come to the house to cook a private dinner one night and a tequila tasting at the house another night. (both highly recommended!). The location is perfect, right above town (make sure to find the steps and stop by and meet Ramon, who cooks all the chicken - he is so nice). There were a few nights where it was raging in town and at the houses below us...didn't bother us at all but if you're looking for somewhere extremely quiet, stay in the north end. The views from the upper floors are incredible, and the cleaning staff could not have been nicer. Communication with Barbara was fantastic. My only hesitation in recommending Casa Mistika is that I don't want it booked when I try to go back there :). Thank you, Barbara, for sharing your little slice of heaven with us!

Casa Mistika is a slice of heaven! And not to be missed - if you are going to Sayulita with a group, you HAVE to stay here. Not only is the house just as beautiful as the pictures, it is just a 5 min walk to the busy streets of town and about 12 min to the main beach. The interiors, decor, and pool area are stunning and it had everything we needed for a group of 14 over Memorial Day Weekend. Each room is sparkling clean with comfortable beds and stunning ocean views. Barbara is an out of this world host and needs an award - she helped me book a dinner reservation and advised on the countless questions I had before arriving. We even had a power outage within the first 2 hours of our arrival, but she sent her lead housekeeper, Sandra, over who helped us find candles and was directly in touch with the power company to ensure we had power ASAP. All worked out within a couple hours, and we learned from the neighbors that power outages do happen from time to time in the neighborhood. Sandra was so kind and helpful throughout the trip for any things we needed around the house. Barbara also referred me to Chef Alma and Bartender Miguel aka "Uncle Mike" for catered cocktails and dinner at the house one night. Alma and her sister came over and prepped dinner in the kitchen and Miguel and his assistant set up outside by the pool. It was truly a night to remember! Alma is an outstanding chef and also brought over a long table, chairs, cloth napkins, etc which were such a special touches. Alma and Miguel work independently but I highly recommend booking them together as the experience was just magical and so much fun! Lastly, the staff goes above and beyond at Casa Mistika with housekeeping every day. This place is so special - hanging at the gorgeous pool and having access to all that Sayulita Publico has to offer - we were all so sad to leave!

Me and 13 other girls rented this home for a bachelorette party and had the most amazing time. The home was very clean, beds were comfortable and the location is excellent. Barbara was easy to communicate with and made planning an event for 14 people easy.

The house is BEAUTIFUL! The staff is very good! It's a very nice house!!! The only detail is that it has the capacity for 16 people and you can only park 2 cars and the kitchen is on the third floor!!! From there on out the house is a dream!

I rented this house for my 40th birthday and let me tell you it did not disappoint. Barbara was easy to work with with from the beginning, very helpful with accommodating my requests and facilitating/recommending Chef Alma to come in and cook meal for us. I highly recommend using Chef Alma. The food was AMAZING and she was so easy to work with in terms of accommodating my menu selections. Her pricing is very reasonable, she is prompt, brings all the food and supplies and did I mention the food was AMAZING? Here is her email address if you are interested: anle_07@hotmail.com The house is absolutely stunning and exactly what is pictured! Each room has a beautiful view, nicely furnished and fully stocked with towels, toiletry items ect. The individual kitchen and bathrooms make it feel like you staying in a private hotel room with your friends right next door. The penthouse is a great place to gather, have meals and cocktails as a group. The grounds, pool and jucuzzi’s were clean and very well maintained. I did notice that the jucuzzi’s never really got hot. The temperature was more warmish. The staff at the house were incredibly. They were friendly, helpful and accommodating in every way. The house was sparkling each day. I highly recommend this house for groups or large families. It’s a hop, skip and a jump to town (5-7 min walk) but far enough away that you escape the noise of nightlife ect. When we were there the WIFI was not working. Hopefully they will have it fixed soon. Tips: Bring a speaker for music, coffee makers in each room, ask about the jucuzzi heaters. Enjoy this is a great place!!!

This house is spectacular! One can tell from the photos, but in person it is even more jaw-dropping. I rented Casa Las Palmas for my 40th birthday with 10 of my friends and I honestly can't think of a better place to have chosen to celebrate. The location is perfect, quick walk to the town and beach, which if you've never been to Sayulita, such a charming locale. The property manager (Jose) and staff were beyond friendly and helpful - Jose even helped book a surprise mariachi band coming to the house with my friends for my birthday (and sent me some of his amazing videos and photos.) Barbara helped coordinate a private chef coming to cook for my birthday dinner at the house too - the host and staff are beyond accommodating and friendly. There's a reason Barbara is a "super host", there should be a more elevated rating for her - thank you do much for the most memorable birthday ever. Anyone thinking of booking this house, do it, you too will be blown away!

Casa Las Palmas is even more stunning in person than it appears in the photos! I rented the whole place to share with a group of friends and we all were so impressed. We managed to get all 13 of us in the penthouse dipping pool, we hired a chef to make us breakfast every morning, and had Tacos Tal Ivan set up a tacos al pastor buffet for our arrival dinner. Staying at Casa Las Palmas was nothing short of perfect and I would easily recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious stay for a big group!

Casa de las Palmas is THE place to stay if you have a large party in Sayulita. We were visiting as a group of 15 and the house VERY comfortably slept all of us. There were 8 bedrooms, all of which had their own bathrooms, and most had their own kitchen and living space as well. The property is undoubtedly enormous. Everything was so clean, and we also had housekeeping every day which was unexpected. The pool was perfect. The property was within walking distance from town which was great for our group when we wanted to do separate activities. I can’t say enough great things. The property itself MADE our trip to Sayulita. 5 stars!!!!

Amazing and beautiful property that far exceeded expectations. The only issue that we had was a power and water outage the last night of our short stay. We understand that this occasionally happens in Sayulita, however no one contacted us or visited the home to communicate the problem. Understandably this was out of everyone’s hands, however we really expected someone to communicate the issue as it was too hot to sleep, and we had to pack our bags the next morning in complete darkness without the ability to shower.

Casa Las Palmas will set you up for success in Sayulita. The house is clean, modern and has amazing ocean views from the second floor and above. There is also a a big tree by the pool that creates a really nice vibe and ambiance. A great house to rent if you are going with a large group of friends/couples/family. We were more than impressed by every room, each has it's own style and views. We didn't even realize all 5 rooms under the penthouse have their own kitchenette with bar stools. The pool area is beautiful, the jacuzzi was perfect for the group. We had a yoga instructor come teach a small group for an hour by the pool one morning and it went very smoothly. In the evening, we used Chef Alma to come cook for 17 people. They brought tables and lighting to set up by the pool which lifted the ambiance. JL answered all our questions and helped coordinate anything we needed. He will be able to help you set up anything you want for the house and make sure you check in and check out smoothly. Just a 5 minutes walk to the town, it's no hassle to go back and forth. All around definitely recommend Casa Las Palmas.
