Our stay at El Bamboo was such a restorative experience. It exceeded my expectations! I couldn’t think of a better place to enjoy the paradise that is Ometepe. The treehouse is just beautiful and it felt like home from the moment we stepped in. Even though we did a couple of attractions in the area, we were always eager to come back to enjoy the peaceful, slow-living atmosphere in El Bamboo. Indira and Che were wonderful hosts; they were very helpful, extremely responsive, and very nice people. The locals in the neighborhood were also friendly and made my son and me feel welcome. We will definitely be back to enjoy this slice of paradise!

We had a wonderful time at Che's place. Really a wonderful place to stay. The place couldn't be better. The view could not be better, and the atmosphere is really fantastic due to how the house is built. So many beautiful details. If you want to experience Ometepe in nature, this is the place to be. A short walk and you are at nice restaurants etc. Once in the cottage, you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. Highly recommended!

Che was great! Animated, friendly, helpful and informative. Gave us information on the area and was kind enough to let us store our bags at his home during our hike. Great place, location and comfortable space to stay❣️

Just stayed in the most gorgeous bamboo cabin on a stunning volcano island—and it completely delivered the immersive experience I was craving! 🌋🌴 Nestled in lush green jungle surroundings with the lake waves gently rolling nearby (I kept thinking it was the ocean!), this place is an absolute gem. Organic, cozy, and beautifully crafted, it’s perfectly located near local restaurants. At night, the sound of rain dancing on the bamboo roof is pure magic. Yes, there are a few little jungle bugs, but that just adds to the authentic vibe—if you want to truly feel in the zone, this is it. We loved every moment and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend for anyone seeking that special, nature-immersed escape! 10/10. Paradise found. 🏡💚

If you love nature, this cabin is the perfect place to stay. You'll fall asleep to the sound of the lake's waves, and if you open the curtains, you can enjoy the refreshing breeze throughout the cabin. The charming town of Balgüe is also wonderful, with plenty of great restaurants, and it's an excellent location from which to explore the island.

This is a unique experience, this cabin is on the water, with beautiful views. my wife and I, loved staying here for 3 days... Che is a great host, very attentive. and always ready to help. Thank you Che!

This is such a great spot to stay- immersed in nature and the best views of the lake (looks like an ocean) Che was very responsive and accommodating. I would recommend to anyone!!

Che was welcoming, friendly and kind from the first time we exchanged messages until our final goodbye. He always made sure I had everything I needed and went above and beyond to help me navigate the island and set up excursions. The property is very well kept and in a great location, with the calming sound of waves along to the shore to help you drift asleep. Highly recommend!

Great spot, sleeping within a stone throw of the lake. I was fortunate to be in #6 and it was perfect. shaded, out of the sun, but plenty of wind coming right off the lake into the room. So peaceful listening to the waves all night.

The best option in Ometepe – Highly recommended Excellent experience! I found the cabin, Mirador del Lago, to be very beautiful, more so than the photos show. It's beautiful, simple, cozy, equipped with the necessities, bright, comfortable, and cool. The air flows and is renewed inside the cabin, which is located right on the lake. In a jungle setting, everything is very harmonious, functional, clean and tidy. The cabin shares that landscape with others, although they are totally independent. You only hear the sounds of nature. I felt very comfortable, like at home. You don't want to leave and you want to come back. You can see the hand of Che, its creator, putting love and dedication into every detail. Grateful for the shared time and space.

We stayed in cabin 5, Mirador del lago, for 3 nights. The name says it all, but just wait until you actually see the view from the window and hear the water hitting the rocky beach at night. It was amazing! It can get windy at night and the window covers shield you from that just perfectly, so even winds of 4 Beaufort feel like a light cool breeze. The neighbourhood is nice and quiet and there’s space to park your motorbike/scooter/ATV. And one other thing: the walk from the main road is just a minute or two, compared to the 10 minutes you’d spend for some of the other accommodations. We went to Granada after, but both wanted to stay a few nights more. Che is a great host. We immediately shared numbers and he gave us so much tips and extra information and was really attentive. Also, hearing his life’s story so far made us appreciate this little place he built so much more. To anybody visiting Ometepe: forget the ho(s)tels and resorts and stay at Che’s.

Working remotely for a total of 4 weeks at Che's place—perfect location! Lake for swimming, well-equipped kitchen, small market nearby! Thanks to Che and Indira, who are working on it.
