Descripción de la cabaña
Esta cabaña en los árboles ha sido construida utilizando una combinación de técnicas y materiales diversos, con el objetivo de recuperar el uso de materiales tradicionales y su estética. La mayor parte del bambú utilizado y toda la madera fueron recuperados del bosque de bambú y de árboles caídos tras el huracán Nate en octubre de 2017.
El espacio
La casa en el árbol tiene 43 m2 en un estudio, y cuenta con una terraza desde donde se puede disfrutar del entorno.

- Iluminación natural a través de ventanas y combinación de tejas tradicionales de barro con láminas de fibra de vidrio semitransparente
- Revestimiento de paredes en palma natural que mantiene una temperatura agradable en el interior
Otros aspectos a destacar
La ubicación de la cabaña es especial, ya que se encuentra a doscientos metros de la carretera principal de Balgüe, cerca de varias cafeterías y la mayoría de las tiendas del pueblo. Cerca de todo y, al mismo tiempo, alejada del bullicio.

Our stay at El Bamboo was such a restorative experience. It exceeded my expectations! I couldn’t think of a better place to enjoy the paradise that is Ometepe. The treehouse is just beautiful and it felt like home from the moment we stepped in. Even though we did a couple of attractions in the area, we were always eager to come back to enjoy the peaceful, slow-living atmosphere in El Bamboo. Indira and Che were wonderful hosts; they were very helpful, extremely responsive, and very nice people. The locals in the neighborhood were also friendly and made my son and me feel welcome. We will definitely be back to enjoy this slice of paradise!

We absolutely loved our stay so much. The building itself is incredible. It is beautifully constructed and so full of natural light. It is more spacious than we even thought, and you can see the lake directly from the window. The space was clean and well kept. The area clearly has a lot of love put into it. It is also very easy to walk to the restaurants around Balgue, and get to some of the other nearby popular areas like Playa Mangos. Definitely recommend!

Che’s bamboo houses are a beautiful work of art. Fully functional kitchen & bathroom and comfortable bed with mosquito net. If you are looking for a unique accommodation in nature on a remote island - this is the place for you! Be open minded about sharing your space with geckos and realize that the open air concept allows you to hear the crashing waves, birds, dogs and chickens all around you at all hours. Much better sounds than city traffic! Definitely rent transportation to get around and explore, but there are a few good restaurant options that are walkable on bumpy trails. Not the kind of place for roller bags!

We loved our stay at Alvaro (Che’s place)! It was a really cool bamboo treehouse in the jungle and it was exactly what we wanted. It is a treehouse in the jungle however so if open warm air, some lizards and a few bugs bother you, it might not be for you, but for us it was all part of the experience (there is a bug net over the bed so we slept without being bothered by anything!). The little kitchen had everything we needed, and the bathroom was also great! Very comfy big bed also, and Che was so helpful and responsive, and gave us so much advice about how to get there (including getting us in touch with an ATV hire to make it all so seamless for us!). He built these cabins and was so passionate and excited to show us around the property and help us harvest some herbs and spices from the gardens. Great location (I would definitely hire an ATV or motorbike if you are coming to Ometepe to make it all accessible). Highly recommend this beautiful treehouse!

We loved staying in this treehouse! The bedroom/kitchen and bathroom are wonderful, with a more private and quiet area of town, yet close to restaurants and stores. Wish we had more time here! Alvaro also sells coffee that he roasted on request, we can’t wait to try it!
