We had a wonderful time at Che's place. Really a wonderful place to stay. The place couldn't be better. The view could not be better, and the atmosphere is really fantastic due to how the house is built. So many beautiful details. If you want to experience Ometepe in nature, this is the place to be. A short walk and you are at nice restaurants etc. Once in the cottage, you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. Highly recommended!

Che was great! Animated, friendly, helpful and informative. Gave us information on the area and was kind enough to let us store our bags at his home during our hike. Great place, location and comfortable space to stay❣️

Great spot, sleeping within a stone throw of the lake. I was fortunate to be in #6 and it was perfect. shaded, out of the sun, but plenty of wind coming right off the lake into the room. So peaceful listening to the waves all night.

We rented 2 places from Che (#5 and #6) and they were both right off the water and beside each other. That enabled our party of 4 to stay here. Che was very responsive in suggesting these two, and it worked out perfectly. Che was also great in connecting me with someone at the ferry that helped us navigate bringing our rental car over! It definitely took away the stress Water in front of the place was rocky, but wonderful to swim in. My kids loved jumping off the rocks that were deeper in the water.

Loved this place so much we had to extend our stay. From the elegant construction to the kind and attentive hospitality, it is clear that Che has really put his whole heart into this place. We also loved the location, as it was just a few minutes walk to everything we needed. The lake and garden area felt serene, but at the same time surrounded by life. Very much recommend staying here!

We found what we were looking for, staying at El Bamboo! Quiet, rustic, peaceful, spacious, and surrounded by nature. The bed was so comfortable, and the view and sounds of the crashing waves of Ometepe was amazing to fall asleep, and wake up to.

This is an experience you will not find again. Alvaro (Che as everyone calls him) radiates pure joy. He has put his heart and soul into creating a beautiful environment which we were grateful to experience. The waves from the lake are loud and lull you to sleep (bring ear plugs if that is not your thing) The breeze wafts in through the open air windows and you feel fully immersed in nature. The kitchen has everything you need to make some basic meals. The gardens are lovely and Che even brought us some delicious bananas that actually tasted as bananas should. The dogs on the property are adorable. If you want adventure...this is your place

We did not meet Che but the online communication was very good. Also nice how Che built all this! We had specially booked the cabin overlooking the lake, but we should not have done this afterwards. Since there are no windows in the cottage, you can hear the water splashing day and night. We thought the price was quite high for what you get.

A place so peaceful and beautiful that its owner Alvaro offers here in this magnificent Nature with stunning views of the lake. And what about Alvaro's laughter that stays pleasantly in our heads ;)

We really enjoyed our stay at El Bamboo! The cabana looked exactly like the photos, and is right on the edge of the lake. This was especially amazing for the constant storms every night, we laid in bed watching the lightning across the water! Che is such a great host. Very responsive, friendly, and he even let us stash our stuff while we hiked Concepcion Volcano despite checking out that day, and we were able to come back and have a shower (an absolute lifesaver) after a long hot day. One small thing just to be aware of, this is an open-air cabin! No screens on the windows and so anything outside can also come inside. The mosquito net on the bed keeps everything away while sleeping so we didn't mind it, but some people might not enjoy that so keep in mind before booking :)
