Excellent place and service

La Orquídea was a breathtaking! It will be a must when we return. Michael was a great host to communicate with and was super helpful with our last minute plans for dates. Ana the caretaker and her dog Bruno were such great support while we were there , always helpful and available . The style of the rooms, kitchen and views were great. We swam and kayaked in the lake everyday (sometimes twice !) highly recommend this , we got to see monkeys, bats and beautiful birds right from our hammocks while we took in the sunset .

We really enjoyed our stay at La Orquidea with our 3 young kids. The house is just beautiful, felt like waking up in paradise! We loved that we were close enough from the hotels and restaurants so we could go enjoy a nice meal or day pass but come back to the calm afterward. The view from the house is awesome with a private acces to the laguna! Its really humid so the air conditionning in both rooms are perfect. The kitchen is fully equiped to cook. The house manager Ana lives on site with Bruno the dog and they are both the sweetest, she was so nice and patient with the kids, they loved to get out of the house to see her. I definitly recommand this place.

We recommend this beautiful house close to Laguna de Apoyo, private beach access (shared with another house). Access by 4x4 or SUV a little high (but you must be able to stay parked at the top of the path). There is 1 double bedroom with shower, 1 triple bedroom with shower and private toilet and a single bedroom. Toilets accessible from the outdoor kitchen. Hot water in the showers, and cooking utensils in good condition!

We had a fantastic stay at Michaels house! The kitchen was very well stocked, something that is rare in Latin America. The house was spotless. The private beach was perfect and the beds were comfortable. We will be returning for sure. Perfect spot to stay to visit Masaya, the volcano and Granada. We much prefer to stay at the lake instead any of the surrounding towns.

Great location, great host, great caretakers. Right on the lake with access. Lovely all around and at a reasonable price! Be a bit careful as the last 100M of the road down “should” require a 4x4 as the road is fairly beat up. Just make sure whatever your driver has suspension/doesn’t sit too low, you’ll be fine!

This is a really lovely place nestled right on the lake. It’s super peaceful with loads of outdoor space to just appreciate the surroundings. It’s also walkable to all the local hotels / restaurants who offer a “day pass” should you want to go somewhere with a bit of atmosphere, drinks, food etc. The rooms were spacious and clean and the outdoor kitchen area was just perfect. The couple who manage the property couldn’t have been sweeter and were so helpful. I highly recommend taking the kayaks out before suns rise and sitting on the lake to watch the sun come up.

The place is beautiful and quiet, very close to the lagoon. The house with its spectacular style is very well equipped. Ana is very attentive and helpful. We loved it.

Awesome place! If you’re a diver, definitely scuba dive the lake with volcano divers , it’s interesting. We had a wonderful time swimming in the lake and the water is very clean and warm. Anna and her dog Bruno are great, she was there for anything we needed and she even opens the gate every time we drove up to the house. Very comfortable and had everything we needed to cook our own meals! Excellent AC in both bedrooms, everything was as advertised. Michael was easy to communicate and helped us with information our ferry journey to Ometempe Island. Would 100% recommend and stay again! Thank you!

We had a lovely stay in the house. If we could, we would have extended the stay, but we have to go home.... The rooms are spacious and the air conditioning is appreciable. Private access to the lagoon is a real plus. Great value

We had a wonderful stay with friends. Plenty of space to relax and enjoy the beauty. Kitchen is well stocked and very clean. This was not our first stay here and we hope not our last. Ana is very attentive and helpful. Thanks again Micheal!
