Inaugurada en mayo de 2005, La Orquidea es la única casa de huéspedes privada ubicada en el cráter, a orillas de la Laguna de Apoyo. Diseñada como un hogar lejos de casa, incluye:
- Una cocina totalmente equipada
- Un baño privado
- Áreas de sala y comedor
- Balcones en ambos niveles con vistas espectaculares de la laguna más limpia de Nicaragua
Los alrededores tranquilos son el hogar de innumerables aves migratorias y nativas. Relájese junto al agua, disfrute del sol, tome una hamaca durante dos horas o haga una caminata por el cráter donde se encuentra la casa.

We had a fantastic stay at Michaels house! The kitchen was very well stocked, something that is rare in Latin America. The house was spotless. The private beach was perfect and the beds were comfortable. We will be returning for sure. Perfect spot to stay to visit Masaya, the volcano and Granada. We much prefer to stay at the lake instead any of the surrounding towns.

Michael and his on-site staff were very kind. Doña Ana and her brother-in-law were very attentive and helpful. Michael maintained smooth communication and was very attentive and flexible. The house is very nice and a few steps away you have direct access to the lagoon Thank you for your excellent service!!

My friends and I really enjoyed our stay at La Orquídea. The natural beauty of the place and the colonial style of the house is wonderful. Michael's workers are very helpful and will always be there for you when you need them. I hope to be back soon.

Nice place with great access to the lake. Caretakers were very friendly and their dog was a lot of fun. A few restaurants within walking distance for lunch/dinner. Access to the lake is shared with another house.

The house was nice, no problems. But the workers made a lot of noise in the early morning. Sweeping at 5.00 a.m. and making other noises. That was not what we expected in a quiet environment.
