This place could be extraordinary if it was given a little love! We had a cup, 2 plates, no cups, no comfortable chairs! The pool was turning gray!

A lovely location and surroundings, and a perfect little kitchen, balcony, etc. etc. Kathie was super accommodating to my requests and a great communicator throughout! The location is a bit tough to reach if you drive a motorbike, and the Wi-Fi isn't strong enough to work remotely, but other than that, it was a beautiful stay and I wish I was able to stay and soak in the nature longer.

The treetop casita was perfect for my daughter and I. I loved how private and quiet it was. My daughter is 4years old and I didn’t think to bring a life jacket for her. Not to worry though. The staff saw her and left a child’s vest out for her and that made her time in the pool so much more enjoyable! Thank you for the little touches like that!!

Casa Swell became our home for 2 months and we loved the space. Beautiful surroundings, waking up to the sounds birds singing and howler monkeys playing in the trees. The location is very private, about a 15 minute walk from town. El Gigante is the perfect, quiet, little village with beautiful coast lines, friendly locals and the best sunsets! We highly encourage people to check out Giants Foot Surf on Monday nights for Burger Night, Yoga at Casa Ogo, and delicious juices & smoothies at Monkey House. Kathie was a great host. She has many ideas for what she wants to add to the property. We were fortunate to meet her near the end of our stay to give her our recommendations for what the little casitas need. Her response time was slow at times but she was always able to get us what we needed. One thing to note, the wifi is slow if you are a digital nomad but that seems to be the case across the country. Thank you Kathie, we will be back!

This property gets a lot of things right: quiet forest location with abundant birdlife, reasonable price, decent wifi and AC, new appliances and wide hammocks, pretty shared pool, and 2+ lovely resident cats. The nearby beaches are fantastic. That said, the casita lacked attention to important details such as toiletries, broken small appliances, and window coverings to allow privacy and cut the strong sun. The beds were definitely showing their age, as were the beautiful floorboards that were no longer well secured to the floor. Cleaning was not very thorough, and responses from the host were slow. The place has great potential, and we would be delighted to return once a few more upgrades have been done.
