Driftwood Beachfront Casitas offers an adults-only retreat located directly on Playa Samara, known as one of the safest beaches for swimming and surfing. Each guest enjoys a private casita with a porch that provides ocean views. The town center, featuring various restaurants and shops, is just a five-minute walk along the beach. A French restaurant and bar are even closer, only a few meters away.
The Space
Driftwood Beachfront Casitas consists of three separate rental options:

Casita Seaglass and Casita Iguana
- Equipped with air conditioning and ceiling fans
- Private living area, bathroom, and porch
- Small refrigerator and coffee maker (including Costa Rican coffee grounds)
- Kitchenware such as a cutting board, knife, bowls, spoons, glasses, and two refillable glass water bottles provided by staff
- No cooking facilities, but breakfast and lunch can be prepared without them

- Open-air living space designed to catch the ocean breeze
- Full open kitchen
- Two bedrooms and two bathrooms
- Large ocean-facing deck plus an additional side deck on the upper level
- Den/sitting room and a desk/work area
Shared Amenities
Guests have access to several communal facilities, including:
- On-site swimming pool
- Outdoor rancho (grass hut) furnished with a table and chairs
- Beach hammocks
- Outdoor showers
- On-site composting for fresh fruit waste collected from local markets

Driftwood casitas are the perfect size and location for a stay at Samara Beach. Parked the car and didn't need it again until our departure. Walk out the front gate to a white pristine beach. Open the doors and windows (did use the A/C to cool the place off before bed) to hear the symphony of the ocean. You feel like your in your own private world. The hammocks are hung under the beach trees every day. Brenda, who greeted us, ran and got an electric hot water kettle as soon as she learned I drank tea. The coffee she provided was top quality and was consumed by my fellow traveler. Will definitely go back for an even longer stay. A must on your travel schedule

Brenda was absolutely a delight, and has a true gift of hospitality. The location was unbeatable. The property is beautiful. The pictures are only a slice of what it actually is like. You are literal steps away from the beach. Hammocks during the day were perfect for lounging and beating the heat. Pillows were comfy and shower had hot water.

Brenda's place is AMAZING. I will 100% stay there again if/when I return to Costa Rica! A suggestion to be very careful when parking and leaving where you parked... It is very tight especially for large 4WD vehicles.

Driftwood casita was everything we hoped for and more! Exactly how described and shown in the pics. So peaceful and beautiful and just a few steps from the beach. Walking distance to anything you need. The hammocks for our daily siestas were the cherry on top! Brenda was extremely kind and helpful! Loved it here. 10/10 recommend and would do it again

Tammy and Patrick were friendly (no WhatsApp), the location was amazing, and the hammock area out front was worth it. The cabin was very small, without the private living room they advertise, and with almost no kitchen equipment. They didn't even help us heat bread, nor did they provide a kitchen, which left something to be desired for a better stay.

This sweet, well maintained casita was the ideal landing spot for me and my daughter. Our hosts were friendly, welcoming, responsive, and perfectly interactive. Our casita was clean and comfortable and the surroundings were gorgeous and well tended. We loved the proximity of this property to the beach and the main shops and restaurants in Playa Samara. We have only positive things to say about our stay and hosts!

Tammy's place is probably one, if not the best place we have ever stayed at on a vacation. Cozy little Casita, gorgeous private pool and steps from the beach. Tammy has chairs and boogie boards available for your use and we had the Howler monkeys come by almost every afternoon for a visit. Tammy, her husband and her sister were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about things to see and do in the area. Samara is a gorgeous little town with a 5 km beach at your doorstep. (I know because we GPS it and walked it every day). Great swimming and surfing area. If going to Costa Rica, Samara is a must and if going to Samara, Tammy's place is the spot to stay.

Very beautiful setting, just steps from a gorgeous beach. Our casita was clean and comfortable. Air conditioning was much appreciated, as was the small swimming pool. The directions were not easy to follow; we could have used a bit more help there. Tammy and Pat were very friendly and gave us just the right amount of personal space. It’s a little noisy at times, being close to a busy restaurant and not far from a busy road, but the beach is heavenly. There are more secluded beaches just a short drive away. Lots of things to do locally or you can just relax in the hammocks provided. Highly recommend a horseback ride along Playa Buena Vista — that was one of my top vacation experiences ever.
