We absolutely loved Hikers hideaway. Our only regret was that we only stayed 2 nights. Rick is beyond organized and has every item you could possibly want or need for a great stay! He even went as far as to have staples on hand including eggs, granola, bread, butter, coffee, snacks and wine and beer!! We loved cooking on the outdoor BBQ and they had both wood and charcoal to use on hand. The gardens and wildlife make it an oasis to be truly relaxed and slow down. There is so much to do and we didn’t have enough time but we highly recommend doing the river tubing tour with Jhonny it was one of the absolute highlights of our trip so far. If you are travelling to Costa Rica don’t miss out on this gem, Hikers Hideway is AMAZING!!! We hope to be back soon 💕

Family of 4 had a wonderful stay at hikers hideaway! Rick was an exceptional host. He was friendly, responsive, and always quick to answer our questions even before I booked, so he sealed the deal. The Airbnb was comfortable and had everything we needed. Having access to the laundry was a huge bonus and made traveling much easier. We also appreciated the taxi driver that Rick recommended, who was reliable, punctual, and reasonably priced. The excursion recommendations were excellent and helped make our trip even more enjoyable with Jhonny. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone visiting the Río Celeste area. We loved the hike that led to the river.

We loved our stay at Pura Vida Ville. Definitely one of the best places we have stayed at. Everything is impeccable and you can see the affection and care they've put into every detail. We loved all the snacks and food they provide, the excellent recommendations and all the extras that make the stay much more comfortable, such as ponchos, umbrellas and much more. One of our favorite parts was being able to enjoy the private pool, an incredible touch! Also, we had a problem with our car and they were very kind to allow us to check out a little later. That gesture meant a lot to us. A beautiful place, designed with great care and where you can really feel the hospitality. We highly recommend it and definitely look forward to returning. Thank you for everything!

We had such a magical time staying at Rick‘s place. The surrounding countryside was absolutely stunning and the highlight of our time at Rio Celeste was the hike down to the swimming hole right next to the cabin. It was so good that my eight-year-old wanted to do it again the next day. Rick was kind enough to accommodate a late checkout so we were able to do it. We like to cook when we travel, and the kitchen was the best stocked Airbnb we have ever come across. The snacks for hiking and fresh fruit, breakfast materials, wine, beer and extensive tea selection was such a fantastic touch. We felt right at home Rick was a great and communicative host and had some great suggestions for places to buy groceries and even places to stop for a beer and watch the World Cup on the drive in. We’d love to be back. It rained like crazy but nothing stopped us having a great time and feeling cozy and well taken care of. 10/10, book it!

We would absolutely recommend this location and Airbnb to all travelers! So peaceful and serene! Rick gave fantastic recommendations and we loved everything we did in Rio Celeste! From our private guide hike to the waterfall, Local fruit stands, excellent restaurant recommendations, this place was a dream! We also had a bonus morning with Jhonny , who takes care of the grounds , on a sloth-wildlife tour & coffee and chocolate tour which was so authentic and we would have never found these places on our own. Overall 5 star stay! We enjoyed drinking coffee on our private patio with views of the jungle and horses, and enjoyed our hike to their river so our kids could swim as well (this is not an easy hike to get to the river but was well worth it!) fabulous stay! Thank you, Rick and Jhonny!

To say that Rick and Ashley are great hosts is an understatement. Communication, from booking to check out, has been perfect: timely, on point and helpful. The plot of land on which the house is built is beautiful, with colourful flower beds and views of the surrounding hills. There's a great little restaurant within walking distance (whose fried tilapia dish is delicious). The house itself was well furnished and we felt right at home. Rick and Ashley had the place ready with loads of useful stuff, including some food and beverages to get us started. Would recommend booking with them in a heartbeat! Thank you both again for a memorable stay!

The views from this home are gorgeous and surreal for those of us from the western US. :) We noticed and appreciated all the little things like doorstops, multiple ways for air circulation and cooling, dry bags and umbrellas provided, etc. We slept 5 there comfortably and would absolutely recommend this place.

Wow! Rick and Ashley’s place far exceeded our expectations! The house is well-built and the property is an absolutely gorgeous mix of old growth Costa Rican trees and beautifully landscaped flowers and plants. The location is fantastic, extremely close to multiple Blue River swimming opportunities and hikes. There are also some excellent restaurants very close to the house. Finally, the house is the best appointed Air BnB that I’ve ever stayed at (15 years and 100+ rentals). It’s hard to explain how much work Rick and Ashley have done making sure that you have everything you could ever need stocked in the house. They provided wine, beer, delicious coffee and fresh milk, cookies and nuts, bedtime chocolates, every bathroom amenity you could need. I wish that every host put the same effort into their home. We will stay here again and recommend it to all of our friends. Thank you, Rick and Ashley!

This home was perfect for us. We were 3 sisters traveling to Costa Rica. Rick & Ashley were great from my first inquiry months before right up until we left. The house was exactly as described and shown in the listing. The grounds were beautifully landscaped. They referred us to an amazing local guide, Jhonny, who took us on three tours in our short stay. We did a coffee and sloth tour - found a sloth very fast as well as a few poison frogs and an eyelash viper. We did a night walk and saw more frogs and a different type of snake - missed the tapir and then the following day did a daytime hike to Celeste Rio waterfall and saw a jaguarundi, a few guan (turkeys) and much more including a toucan. We would easily come back and stay at this home and use (and recommend) Jhonny again. Thank you for a great property and experience.
