Guest Access

The entire property is exclusively yours. There are two gated entrances:

• Main entrance on 2nd Street, used to enter the property
• Beach entrance on 1st Street, providing access to the beach

You will receive keys for the beach gate.

The caretakers live near the main entrance but respect your privacy. They welcome guests, clean the pool each morning, and are available when assistance is needed. Additional services, including cooking and cleaning, may be arranged in advance for an extra fee.

Good to Know

• Villa Mar Azul is a second-row beach house. It is not oceanfront, but the shore is only a short walk away.
• The villa has an open-air design with natural ventilation and fresh ocean breezes.
• As with any tropical beach home, mosquitoes and other harmless insects may occasionally appear, especially during the rainy season. The property is professionally treated, cleaned, and inspected before every stay. Mosquito traps and citronella are provided.
• Reservations are limited to registered guests. Visitors require advance approval, and an additional fee may apply.
• For efficient cooling, please keep the air conditioning set to 23°C (72°F) or higher. Lower settings may cause the system to overwork.
• Please consult the guidebooks for recommended restaurants and local attractions.

House Rules

Check-In and Check-Out

• Check-in: 3:00 p.m.
• Check-out: 12:00 p.m.

Check-out is at 12:00 p.m. to allow time for cleaning before the next guests arrive. Additional time may be purchased if there is no reservation for the following day.

Reporting Issues

To help provide the best experience, please report any cleanliness, maintenance, or pest concerns immediately through the Airbnb message thread. This gives us the opportunity to inspect and resolve issues during your stay.

Gates and Security

• Keep the beach gate locked at all times for maximum safety.
• Gate 1 on 2nd Street closes daily at 10:00 p.m.
• Gate 2 on 1st Street leads to the beach and should be used if you arrive after 10:00 p.m. On check-in day, we will wait for you if needed.
• You will receive a key for the beach gate.

Pool Safety

For health and safety reasons, glassware and food are not permitted in the pool.

Smoking

This is a completely smoke-free property. Smoking, vaping, and the use of electronic cigarettes are not permitted anywhere in the home. Guests who smoke indoors will be charged a minimum cleaning and deodorizing fee of $200.

Amenities and Service Interruptions

Every effort is made to keep all amenities available throughout your stay. However, mechanical, electrical, or weather-related issues may occasionally occur. We will work to resolve any problems as quickly as possible.

If an amenity becomes unavailable, reasonable compensation may be provided based on the length of the outage and its impact on your stay:

• Appliances: 10% refund per day
• Wi-Fi: 10% refund per day, depending on the number of hours without internet service

Internet outages are extremely rare and typically last no more than a few hours. Please report any issues immediately so they can be addressed promptly.

Power Outages and Water

The water supply throughout the house operates using electricity. If a power outage occurs, the caretaker will activate the emergency water tank. Water pressure will be low, but there will be enough water for essential needs. Drinking water is always available.

The stove operates with propane gas and will not be affected by a power outage. No refund is provided for water interruptions caused by a power outage.
