Casa Amparo

Casa Amparo is a spacious home designed for large groups, located on the edge of Oaxaca’s historic center, at the beginning of the emblematic Barrio de la Noria.

Location

• Approximately 15 minutes on foot from the Zócalo
• Approximately 22 minutes from the Church of Santo Domingo

Amenities

The house includes everything needed for a comfortable stay in Oaxaca:

• Fully equipped kitchen
• Bathroom amenities
• High-speed Wi-Fi
• Air conditioning in all bedrooms and the living room
• Private bathrooms in every bedroom
• Two internal parking spaces
• Additional half-bathroom in the garage

The Space

The house features colonial-style architecture. As is typical of historic buildings in the city center, natural lighting is limited and is concentrated mainly in the dining room. The bedrooms have skylights, but structural modifications to increase natural light are not permitted due to the building’s historical value and conservation regulations.

Please consider this if you are looking for a home with abundant natural light.

Kitchen

The large kitchen includes:

• Electric washer-dryer
• Induction cooktop
• Large refrigerator
• Microwave
• Utensils for preparing full meals
• Folding clothesline

The dryer cycle takes approximately two hours. Because Oaxaca has a dry climate, air-drying clothes is recommended.

Please note that the kitchen does not have a convection oven.

Bedrooms

The house has five bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own door and a small window facing the living and dining area.

Bedroom 1

• One queen-size bed
• One queen-size sofa bed, suitable for two slim adults or children
• Street-facing window with double glazing

Bedroom 2

• One queen-size bed

Bedroom 4

This bedroom is divided into two areas by a curtain:

• One area with a queen-size bed, private bathroom, Smart television, and air conditioning
• One area with a double sofa bed, suitable for two slim adults or children

Bedroom 5

• One queen-size bed
• Air conditioning
• Smart television
• Private bathroom

Each bathroom has a small window and an extractor fan. This helps prevent odors from entering the common areas or lingering inside the bathroom.

Living Room

The living room includes:

• One loveseat
• One cot
• Large television with extensive programming

Dining Room

The dining room seats up to 14 people and includes chairs for relaxing. It is the only area intended for guests to gather and socialize; there are no other common areas.

Keys

Each bedroom has its own key. The keys are kept in a key fob in the kitchen, inside the last drawer next to the microwave.

Please take care of the keys. Lost keys incur a replacement charge of $20 per key.

Guest Access

Guests have access to the entire property except the roof.

Parking is easy, and the neighborhood is very quiet.

Safety

The property has a night security guard who can assist guests with anything they need.

Noise

Oaxaca’s historic center is a multicultural area filled with traditions, celebrations, and local cuisine. Folklore and music are an important part of local customs and may occasionally create unexpected noise during celebrations.

Some neighbors also have dogs as guard animals, as well as farm animals such as roosters. These sounds may disturb your sleep, so earplugs are provided in the first-aid kit for guests who need them.

Weather

Before confirming your reservation, please check the weather forecast for Oaxaca during your planned dates. This will help you anticipate the expected temperature, rain, and other weather conditions and improve your experience.

The house has air conditioning in both the bedrooms and the living room.

Bed Measurements

The beds use the following standard sizes:

• Single bed: 100 × 190 centimeters
• Double bed: 135 × 190 centimeters
• Queen-size bed: 150 × 190 centimeters
• King-size bed: 200 × 190 centimeters

Linens

The linens are premium quality and selected for comfort and durability. As part of our commitment to environmental responsibility, they are carefully maintained throughout their life cycle, including discreet repairs such as seams or small reinforcements when needed.

This allows us to provide linens that are clean, functional, and comfortable while reducing environmental impact.

Traveling With a Pet

Pets are welcome. Please do not allow your pet to lie on the blankets or bedding.

If available, a cot can be provided for your pet. If blankets are left with excessive hair and require special cleaning, an additional charge may apply.
