Location
PuraVida is located on Langosta Beach, just south of Tamarindo. The property offers easy access to excursions while remaining close enough for a beach walk into town. At low tide, the beach is ideal for peaceful walks.
The Space
Bahia Langosta Condo is a secure, gated community with 24-hour security. It is associated with the famous Occidental Hotel, formerly known as Barcelo, although the condominium is a separate property.
The beachfront complex is next to an ocean-fed estuary, offering opportunities for:
- Kayaking
- Boogie boarding
- Surfing
- Swimming
- Fishing
- Sunbathing
This spacious, freshly cleaned ground-floor unit features:
- One bedroom with a California king bed
- Additional sleeping space in the living area
- Granite kitchen countertops
- Tile floors throughout
- Private patio opening directly onto the community pool and lounge area
The bedroom comfortably accommodates two guests. The living area can accommodate additional friends or family members in separate beds, but it is not well suited for another couple sharing a bed.
Guest Access
Guests must provide their check-in information in advance so it can be shared with the community guards and property management team. These security measures help maintain the safety of the gated community.
The unit is separate from the Occidental Hotel, even though both properties share the same grounds.
Nearby Dining and Activities
Guests may dine at the Occidental’s all-inclusive resort buffet, including food and drinks, for $30 USD.
Langosta Sports Bar is a fun local venue within walking distance and offers casual dining. The surrounding neighborhood is upscale, safe, and home to many owner-occupied properties.
Adventure tours can be arranged from the hotel directly next door. Typical excursions include:
- Zip-lining
- Rafting
- Horseback riding
- Hot springs
Interbus is a Costa Rican tourist transportation network. Information is available online or through the Tamarindo Shuttles offices.
Property Management
The property manager is available to answer questions and assist with vacation-related arrangements.
Additional Fees
As of 2020, Costa Rica’s 13% value-added tax is collected upon arrival by the on-site property manager.

I’ve been visiting Costa Rica since 2015. This is by far one of my favorite places to stay. I will definitely be going back. The location is perfect. About 100 yards to the beach another hundred yards to a surfable spot sunsets out of this world the restaurants especially Walters fish and cheeses is amazing. I really can’t say enough good things about this place. The host Jean very friendly very helpful. Thank you again.

unfortunately pool was under renovations so most of the time not usable and the noise factor was disruptive.

Perfect beachfront stay! The apartment was clean, cozy and easy beach access. Family-friendly and welcoming, it truly felt like a home away from home. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our stay!! At no fault of Gail Jean, the pool was under repair and she worked so hard to create other options for us so we could enjoy a pool. 100% recommend!

Great choice of accommodation due to its proximity to the beach and pool, you are literally meters away from reaching one of the best beaches in Costa Rica (Playa Langosta). The apartment has AA, which is ideal for the high temperatures in the area. The kitchen is an additional plus, this had all the elements to prepare breakfast & Cenas. Finally, the location of the apartment is in an area with very good options for Restaurants, and outdoors activities. I'd like to go back to this apartment.

Wonderful private community with fellow residents and guests. We were at first surprised that the resort next door has daily musical performances that carry over to this condo complex, but we took it all in stride as did everyone else there by doing the daily macarana performance. As one fellow guest said, "you always know it is 3:00 oclock when the macarana comes on next door".

We had a wonderful one month stay. The unit is great location with beautiful pool. It’s an easy walk to beach and estuary. The unit has a comfortable bed, great A/C and washer/ dryer. We can’t wait to return.
