The property is situated on a beautiful riverfront surrounded by nature. A short walk leads to the breathtaking Chirripo River, where guests can enjoy calm waters, sunshine, and warm river rocks. The gardens are a tropical haven filled with fruit trees, mountain flowers, and diverse tropical plants and wildlife.
Just steps from the house, raised vegetable garden beds are available for guests to harvest fresh greens. Typical weather includes warm, sunny mornings, mystical cloudy afternoons, and cool, starry nights. The location boasts stunning mountain views, numerous trails to waterfalls, and welcoming local residents.
A small pool and sundeck are also part of the property, providing additional relaxation options.
Location
The home is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, within walking distance to the nearby mountain villages of Canaan and San Gerardo de Rivas. Guests can stroll to local restaurants, a bakery, a cheese farm, and a butterfly dome.
The nearest town, San Isidro, is a 30-minute drive away. The house is approximately a 3.5-hour scenic drive from San Jose without stops or traffic. Since it gets dark around 6:00 pm year-round, driving in the dark, especially on mountain roads, is not recommended.
Guests should allow ample time for immigration, customs, car rental, and grocery shopping. It is advisable to spend the first night in San Jose if arriving in the afternoon and to drive to the property fresh in the morning.

Additional Information
The Rio Chirripo is a fast-flowing mountain river and may not be safe or suitable for swimming outside the summer months (January to July). Children must be supervised at all times near the river and on the property.
While the roads to the house are accessible, renting a 4x4 vehicle is recommended for ease of travel. When using navigation apps like Waze or Google Maps, avoid shortcuts on dirt roads until reaching Canaan de Rivas.
The nearest ATM is located 15 minutes away in Rivas, and the closest gas station is in San Isidro, approximately 30 minutes from the house.

Beautiful stay in a gorgeous garden with access to the mountain river and a small beach with golden flecked sand that our kids loved. Wonderful hosts and the space is magical with lots of common areas to hang out. Our family loved our stay and hope to be back soon!

Wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit mit viel Platz und Bewegungsmöglichkeiten. Vor allem der Zugang zum Fluss ist mit soviel Liebe gemacht. Die drei Hunde waren die Kirsche auf der Sahne. Vielen Dank für die tolle Zeit bei euch!!

We love this place so much! The absolute best river swimming spot in all of Los Angeles..Eric and Helen are wonderful hosts and are helpful and on the property but completely honor your space and privacy. The house is colorful and creative and the internet is great! We stay here a lot and feel at home here…highly recommend!

Eric was so friendly! He met us at the house to show us around the property including the amazing swimming hole at the river below the house. The house is beautifully decorated and the path down to the river is magical! Eric was a terrific host and communication was fantastic. Would definitely stay here again!

The house is in a quite street but still not far from the centre of La Fortuna. It has two bedrooms, bathroom and a living room with the kitchen. The terrace looks out onto the pool, which is large enough to have a proper swim. An outside covered table with barbecue is very comfortable when it rains, which it did every day while we were there. All kitchen tools were there, there is also a washing machine. It is all very clean. Every remote control is in a plastic cover which is good as it can be pretty humid. We can recommend the house!

Do yourself a favor, search no more and book this stay! Beautiful house on an extremely well maintained property with incredible hosts and magical path to the best part of the river! This was our home for Easter and is just a perfectly done and beautiful house!

What an incredible place. Eric and his family were wonderful hosts. Both the house and the property were gorgeous and well maintained. A lovely stone pathway through the gardens and down to a roaring river. Highly recommended.
