Live among the branches in a unique 2-bedroom treehouse for 4 in Cahuita. Enjoy three decks, jungle canopy views, a tropical pond, and Playa Negra just 100 meters away.
The Space
Tree houses carry a timeless message: climb up and connect with nature. You don’t need to be young to enjoy the experience—what matters is being among the branches. This unique stay offers living inside a giant ficus tree, surrounded by nature’s beauty. Drift off to the sounds of the jungle and wake up in comfort.
Topo's Tree House features two main decks plus a smaller third deck, perfect for savoring your morning coffee or evening cocktail while gazing over the jungle canopy. You might even spot a passing sloth!
The first floor includes a tropical wood deck with intricately carved posts and one wall made entirely from the giant tree’s roots, forming a natural mosaic of shapes and textures. Inside, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, bathroom, and a terrace overlooking a tropical pond adorned with orchids and lilies. Relax in the hammock as parrots, hummingbirds, and toucans fly by.
On the second deck, there is an open-air living room with breathtaking views over the treetops. Two bedrooms are adjacent to this space, each with windows opening into the tree branches. The main bedroom features a four-poster bed with a queen-sized orthopedic mattress, plenty of pillows, a mosquito net, bedside lamps, and a security safe. The second bedroom offers two twin beds, mosquito nets, and lamps.
The large bathroom includes two sinks, a full glass-door shower, elegant tiles, and beautiful hardwood cabinetry.
The third deck is a private terrace furnished with wrought iron chairs and a table, fully immersed in the living branches of the tree adorned with hanging orchids.
Outside, on the first floor, an outdoor shower is nestled among the tree roots.

Walking through this enchanting garden feels like exploring a miniature Garden of Eden.
Location
Just 100 meters down a sandy path is Playa Negra, a well-known beach popular with surfers. The area is lined with coconut trees and offers a lively atmosphere with surfers, swimmers, and the famous Reggae Bar. Relax on the open-air terrace of the Reggae Bar overlooking the beach, enjoy the ocean breeze, and try local favorites like Pina Colada, Coconut Chicken with Rice and Beans, or freshly grilled red snapper.

Holy cow. Dont have words to describe this place. Like staying in a Disney house and Topo is such a sweet guy. The house is built into a tree, a living tree with frogs and bats living in the tree. Saw bunch of wildlife including poisonous dart frogs. If you get the chance 100% stay here!!! Coolest place we have ever stayed!! Pura Vida Topo.

Topos treehouse is one of the most unique/coolest places I've ever stayed at. The open air concept brings you directly into the Costa Rica jungle wildlife. The views alone of all the foliage of different plants and trees surrounding the treehouse felt like you were dropped in the middle of the jungle. Everyday there were sloths up in the trees that are on topos property, another morning I seen howler monkeys passing through the property, multiple different kinds of birds and every night I walked around the pond and spotting the famous Green-red eyed Costa Rican frog along with multiple other dart frogs. The design of the tree house is hard to wrap your mind around how topo built this masterpiece from the coloring of the wood to the handcrafted posts stair case it's truly a piece of art work. 100/10 will stay here again! also the bedrooms are 100% sealed off from all wildlife/critters.

Topo's treehouse is awesome! An oasis of calm in the middle of our own little jungle. We had the most beautiful sloth sightings here! And frogs, agoutis, giant iguanas and monkeys. And Topo is a great host! After the long journey we were happy about cool water and beer and the great fruit bowl! Thank you! We highly recommend Topos Baumhaus!

I bookmarked this treehouse ten years ago with hopes of visiting one day. I'm so glad we did. If you dream about running away to a magical treehouse surrounded by lush vegetation and wildlife, Topo's treehouse is so much more than you could hope for. He's truly put his heart and soul into building a beautiful sanctuary. We stayed for 11 days in this paradise. Each morning, we checked from the balcony to see where the sloths were that day. We shared the beach shower with magnificent tiny red tree frogs. At night, we watched the bats feast on mosquitoes from the hammock. (Bats, you were the real MVPs.) If you're calm and conscious of your noise levels, the agoutis will come say hi. Walking around the property was an absolute delight. Topo provided fresh fruit, a bag of incredible coffee, and a pair of Imperials to welcome our arrival. The bedroom has a mini-split, so we slept in comfort. Treat the treehouse and nature with kindness, and you'll have an unforgettable experience.

We stayed there for four nights as a family and enjoyed the time very much, the house is unique. In walking distance to the nearest bars, restaurants and the beach but still in nature and private. From the house we saw sloths, various monkeys, agutis, tucans, iguanas, colored frogs and more! If you're looking for an exceptional place to stay, this is the place to be!

Special location of the upscale price category. We made this gift for the 25th wedding anniversary. Very clean without insects or other animals. My expectation was to sleep in the branches of the tree due to the photos. This is a lovingly designed lodge, with the tree as a side of the house. Still a lovely experience.

good reception with local fruits. The combination of tree and apartment is awesome . A bunch of sharp ideas/dream that slavco has realized there with a lot of detail work. un lugar unico.

Imagine staring at a painting of a lush jungle. You focus on a small bird on a distant tree, then you look down at your feet, and realize you are a part of the painting. The animals come to life and pass by right in front of you. That is what it is like to occupy this house. As you are observing nature you are also being observed by it. One side of this house is composed of a sprawling ficus tree, the other is open to the surrounding landscape. You are comfortably seated on the exotic wood frame that keeps that colorful vista as it’s focal point. Just as a painter gets a few drops of color on the studio floor or their clothes, nature will dribble into the living space in the form of a few leaves, insects, raindrops, and even a group of fruit bats. If you want a space that is sanitized and immaculate, this will likely not do., but if you can tolerate some slight dirt, or a cricket on your coffee mug, then it might be just the right mix of nature’s magic and comfort for you.

Probably our expectations were too high due to the pictures on the internet. Price/performance is not correct.

The tree house is really cool but outdated, we were supposed to stay for 5 nights but left after 1, we slept with about 15 bats, and when we woke up there was (bat) poop everywhere, the master bedroom light stopped working at night, the second bedroom mattresses are extremely old, stained and dirty, you can feel all the springs, even the sheets are broken, my kids woke up in the morning in a dirty mattress, the rooms are extremely hot, and have a moldy smell, the living room fan was broken, utensils were dirty, the entire house got wet while it was raining, we tried using the safe, we put the key in and it got stuck we couldn’t take it out, we couldn’t even use it, it was very old and rusty. The walkway deck to the tree house needs to be pressured wash, it’s moldy and slippery, my husband has bad knees and almost fell while walking. I immediately told the owner we were going to leave, his only response was "wow, i'm shocked" I wrote 3 emails asking for a refund for the 4 unused night, on the 3rd message he responded "sorry no refund". Really not cool how we got treated. I have videos of everything. The pictures on line are old and not accurate.
