Casa Citrina is a peaceful retreat filled with crystal energy and passion flowers, designed to soothe chronic fatigue and inspire positive energy. Located in one of the most dramatic and distinctive settings on the Costa Rican coast, the home overlooks the Whale's Tail from a 12-acre jungle estate.

Relax in the swimming pool, soak in the outdoor bathtubs, enjoy spectacular sunsets, and observe abundant wildlife while experiencing modern comforts throughout the property.

The Space

Upon entering the home, you will likely head straight to the patio to admire the breathtaking view of one of Costa Rica’s most iconic landmarks. Guests have compared the scenery to Italy’s Amalfi Coast and Kauai.

The property overlooks the breeding grounds of Antarctic and Alaskan whales, offering an exceptional setting for appreciating nature.

The home features high-quality furnishings, comfortable living spaces, and views of the surrounding jungle. Nearby toucans provide a lively natural soundtrack. Because the house sits at a high elevation, it benefits from fewer insects and light, cool breezes. Evenings may require a sweater, while the sound of waves crashing below can still be heard at night.

The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped for preparing meals. Online shopping contacts can arrange delivery and stocking before your arrival. Local chefs are also available to prepare meals, and wine and liquor selections can be arranged in advance for your enjoyment on the patio.

Evenings bring spectacular sunsets, each one different and memorable. Wildlife sightings are common at Casa Citrina, including parrots, toucans, monkeys, and sloths.

The surrounding neighborhood is ideal for bird-watching and leisurely walks. Because the home is located at the top of a ridge, guests can enjoy an easy morning walk along approximately two miles of road without steep hills.

Location and Transportation

Casa Citrina is approximately a three- to four-hour drive from San José International Airport, depending on traffic. Guests may rent a car at the airport, arrange a shuttle, or use a local car-rental service.

Two domestic airlines, Sansa and Costa Rica Green Air, offer flights to Quepos Airport. The airport is easily accessible from San José, and the drive from Quepos to the house takes approximately 40 minutes.

All guests are required to have a four-wheel-drive vehicle.

The property is located in the Costa Verde Estates neighborhood, considered one of the area’s most prestigious addresses. It is approximately a 20-minute drive from the coastal highway.

In September 2025, new management took over with the goal of further refining the guest experience. A professional team is available on-site, nearby, and remotely to provide assistance throughout your stay.

With more than 30 years of experience traveling in Costa Rica, the team can help arrange transportation, tours, and other services. Bookings can be handled on your behalf, with funds held until services are completed. US credit cards and cash apps are accepted for eligible arrangements.
