Nestled in the mountains of Uvita, this brand-new home offers stunning views of the Whale’s Tail and is surrounded by lush rainforest. Located less than 2 miles from town, you can wake up to the calls of toucans and enjoy breakfast at the open kitchen island. The living room features sliding doors that open to welcome ocean breezes and panoramic ocean vistas. The Space

We instantly fell in love with this location because of its breathtaking view. After searching properties throughout Costa Rica, this one stood out immediately. The Osa Peninsula’s natural beauty is unparalleled, offering a serene environment where you can gaze directly at the Whale’s Tail from your home, all while being immersed in the rainforest.

The house showcases a modern industrial design with concrete and locally sourced wood finishes. Two cedar trees removed to make space for the house were fully repurposed into closets, doors, and cabinets. Wood from smaller trees was also incorporated to minimize waste.

Designed with an open floor plan, the home features soaring ceilings and a living room that opens onto the terrace, creating a spacious indoor-outdoor living area that encourages airflow throughout. The ceiling design and strategically placed fans maintain a comfortable temperature, making air conditioning unnecessary, although it is available in the bedrooms.

This 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom home comfortably accommodates four guests (two per bedroom) but can sleep an additional 2 to 4 people using two sofa beds in the living room. Amenities include high-speed WiFi, a flat-screen TV, and a fully equipped kitchen with all necessary utensils. Linens, towels, shampoo, conditioner, and soap are provided.

Outdoor spaces include an infinity pool, a large terrace, and a lounging deck that can also be used for yoga.

Guest Access

Guests have full access to the entire house and pool. Access to the washer and dryer storage area is generally restricted to the cleaning staff but may be granted upon request.

Location and Additional Information

Please note that the property is accessed via a well-maintained dirt road, but a 4x4 vehicle is required due to a steep final stretch.

The area is experiencing increased development as more people are attracted to Uvita and surrounding regions, so some construction may be visible nearby. Construction activity is common from Escaleras through Uvita and south of Ojochal.

While Costa Rica’s infrastructure is impressive given the remote and rugged terrain, occasional power and water outages can occur due to fallen trees or damaged pipes. To mitigate this, the house is equipped with a battery backup that keeps the internet running for up to two hours and water tanks to provide supply during outages. However, please be aware that interruptions may happen beyond our control.
