Villa Ohana is a 4 bedroom oceanfront villa with a large infinity pool, expansive tropical gardens and short a short walk to Rancho Santana's restaurants and beaches. Perfect location for falling in love with Nicaragua!
Villa Ohana
Oceanfront living, a private pool, beautiful tropical gardens and the best of Rancho Santana just a short walk away.
In Hawaiian, ʻohana means family. And Villa Ohana is very much a house for being together.
Set directly on Nicaragua's Pacific coast, this four-bedroom villa welcomes up to eight guests, with the space and privacy to make everyone feel at home. Days have a way of unfolding naturally here: slow breakfasts overlooking the ocean, children spending hours in the pool, someone wandering down to check the surf, and everyone coming together again as the sun begins to set.
What makes Villa Ohana special is not simply its oceanfront position, but everything between the house and the sea. Ample multi layer soft grass lawn, mature tropical gardens with multiple nooks and areas to explore, a private infinity edge swimming pool and shaded outdoor living areas create a wonderful sense of space. There is always somewhere to gather, somewhere to escape, and usually a reason to stay outside just a little longer.
And while the villa is wonderfully private, Rancho Santana's restaurants and main resort area are only a short walk away.
The House
Four bedrooms, four private en-suite bathrooms and accommodation for up to eight guests.
Villa Ohana has all the character of a well-loved coastal home, with beautiful natural materials, generous living spaces and a strong connection to its gardens and ocean setting.
Three bedrooms are in the main house:
- Primary bedroom: King-size bed with ocean views.
- Second bedroom: Queen-size bed.
- Third bedroom: Two twin beds and an additional trundle bed.
The fourth bedroom is separate from the main house, beside the swimming pool and the closest to the ocean and affording incredible ocean views. It offers a little extra independence for another couple, older children or guests who appreciate their own space.
Every bedroom has air conditioning, a ceiling fan and a private en-suite bathroom, with doors opening towards the tropical gardens.
At the heart of the house is a beautiful living room beneath a distinctive red-brick vaulted ceiling. Full-height folding Nana doors open almost the entire room to the gardens and Pacific breeze. With the doors folded back, the house feels wonderfully connected to its surroundings, with fresh sea air and the sound of the surf drifting through.
A handcrafted hardwood dining table brings everyone together for meals, games and evenings.
There is also a spacious sumtiously furnished covered balcony, offering welcome shade through the heat of the day without sacrificing the ocean views or cooling breeze.
Pool, Gardens & Ocean
This is where you'll spend most of your time.
Villa Ohana's private infinity swimming pool sits between the house and the Pacific, overlooking the gardens, coastline and perfect barelling waves at Playa Santana (Jiquiliste) surf break literally right in front.
Swim, read in the shade, watch the waves or simply enjoy having nowhere in particular to be. The pool terrace and surrounding lawn give everyone room to settle into their own rhythm, while keeping the group naturally connected.
The gardens are a defining part of the property. Mature palms, flowering trees, established tropical planting and generous lawns surround the villa, creating privacy and a sense of peace that is difficult to reproduce in a newer home.
A private path winds through the grounds towards the coastline and nearby surf break. From the house and gardens, views stretch across the Pacific Ocean, breaking waves, coastal blowholes and distant volcanic mountains.
And then there are the sunsets.
As the afternoon heat softens, the pool catches the changing light and the garden becomes the perfect place to gather for the evening. Dinner outside, drinks by the pool, the sound of the ocean in the background.
At Villa Ohana, staying home is often the best plan of all.
Rancho Santana — Everything Close By
One of Villa Ohana's greatest advantages is its location within Rancho Santana, one of Nicaragua's most established coastal communities.
You enjoy the space, privacy and independence of your own oceanfront villa, but with the convenience of resort restaurants, beaches and activities nearby.
El Café is approximately a two-minute walk from the house, while Rancho Santana's main restaurant, beach and central facilities are also within easy walking distance.
Morning coffee without getting in the car. Lunch at the resort. An afternoon exploring the beaches. Then back to your own pool, gardens and uninterrupted ocean views.
Rancho Santana encompasses approximately 2,700 acres of gated Pacific coastline, with multiple beaches, restaurants, surfing, horseback riding, children's activities and other resort amenities.
Some resort facilities require an optional guest access pass, detailed below.
A Place to Come Together
There are newer villas and grander homes along this coast. What makes Ohana memorable is something less easily measured.
It's the children who don't want to get out of the pool. The quiet coffee in the garden before everyone else wakes up. Eight people around the dining table deciding what to do tomorrow. The freedom to spend a whole day doing very little, and feel you've had a wonderful day.
Enough private space to enjoy your own company. Enough shared space to enjoy everyone else's.
That's the spirit of Villa Ohana.
Optional Rancho Santana Resort Access Fee

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The home was spotless, comfortable, and had everything our family needed. It was especially great for our children, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy themselves. The hosts were accommodating and made the entire experience seamless from check-in to check-out. The biggest highlight was being located within Rancho Santana. Having easy access to the beautiful beaches, incredible restaurants, family-friendly activities, and the overall safety and security of the community made our vacation even more enjoyable. It truly was the cherry on top. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and would happily return. Highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing, family-friendly getaway!

Family of 5 from Westchester, NY had a terrific time! House is perfectly located. Private and on the ocean but almost next door to the main Rancho Santana Inn and Santana Beach. Kids were able to walk over to the Inn and we could all pop over for a meal. House is stunning, pictures may undersell it. We had 5 people and didn’t use the bedroom next to the pool at all (wished we brought another couple). Host was proactive and super responsive. Can’t find a better spot at RS. Housekeeper lives in separate building on the property and always available if needed (otherwise you don’t see him) and place just feels super safe. Would not stay anywhere else if we are fortunate enough to make it back.

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at Villa Ohana! We enjoyed the privacy of our villa, but also easily walkable to Rancho Santana restaurants, pools, and one of the beautiful resort beaches. Best of both worlds!!! Communication with the host was great! Everything was just as described, and always a quick response to our questions. The house staff- David and Gloria- work hard to make everything pristine. They were attentive without being in the way. David brought fresh mangos to us on the first day, and Gloria served them to us by the pool. We could not ask for better service or a better destination. I hugged Gloria when we left, and told her that we would be back!!!

Villa ohana is one of the best properties at rancho Santana. The master, pool room, and pool looks directly at first peak, the walk to the club house is less than a minute, and it’s classic rancho Santana style. Even though it’s pricier than some options, you get what you pay for. You can hear the ocean, see the ocean, and walk to the ocean. David is a fantastic gardener. He keeps the grounds immaculate and is always willing to help you with anything you need. He’ll even wash your truck without asking if it’s dirty. Maria keeps the kitchen spotless and all the bedrooms and bathrooms are cleaned daily. Both are wonderful people. The overlook upstairs has an even better view of the surf break and is a great place to look at the stars. I would definitely stay here again and plan on doing so. If this property is available—book it! You won’t regret it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Hidden Gem in the Perfect Location Villa Ohana is truly a dream: the location is unmatched, with a private walking pathway leading straight to the restaurant and clubhouse. It felt like our own slice of paradise. The home felt like a resort within a resort, surrounded by a beautifully maintained garden and absolutely breathtaking views. James and David were incredibly helpful, and Gloria kept everything clean. The area is peaceful, extremely secure, and full of charm. A true gem inside the luxurious gates of Rancho Santana. My family and I are so happy we found this home and can’t wait to return!

Villa Ohana provides a one of a kind vacation experience. We really enjoyed the location (close to Rancho Santana’s main hub, 3min walk to the beach, incredibly scenic views). Gloria and David who help meticulously maintain the property were very friendly and helpful. Gloria is an excellent cook so definitely inquire about her when staying. James was a very responsive host who helped out when we needed it. Definitely recommend getting the Rancho Santana resort passes so you can use their resort services on demand (rides to and from airport, great restaurants, tours/excursions, surf rentals, etc). Would (hopefully will) stay again!

We had a wonderful stay. James was amazing throughout from planning our arrival from the airport to helping with suggestions on where to go and what to do. David and Gloria were the greatest. Gloria cooked us fabulous meals and David helped if we had any questions with the home or the surrounding area. Villa Ohana was a great location, and very peaceful.

Villa Ohana is the hidden gem of the Rancho Santana property! We stayed there for a week for a friend's wedding at the resort and we were so pleased with our stay. The delightful walking path shortcut that leads directly to the resort for meals / massages was amazing. The wedding itself was right in the main grassy area at the resort, so we were able to sneak away and jump in Villa Ohana's pool in the middle of the wedding to cool off and get right back without being caught 😂. David and Gloria the caretakers of the property are amazing, always available to help with anything you might need. The rooms were all great and well kept. A/C's worked perfectly too! James the property manager was super responsive and helpful with any and all questions we had prior to the trip (I had A LOT 😬). 10/10, stay here. You're never gonna wanna leave the pool.

This place is great! James was exceedingly helpful in the weeks prior to our visit. Thank you James! The house is beautiful and the folks taking care of it are lovely. Everything worked well, with the exception of the WiFi which was slow and only really available in the kitchen — not a big deal for us though; we have phones for hot spots & it meant that we enjoyed the resort (and the cafe) for our early morning work calls. Being walkable to the resort’s main restaurant, cafe & tienda was great for us & our teenage kids. We paid the resort fee for use of the big pool, a few of the complimentary tours & the sand boarding. It was worth it for us to have the convenience (esp with teenagers…) but totally not necessary. The pool is beautiful and so well maintained. We spent HOURS in it, enjoying the gorgeous sunset & watching surfers. Quick tip: if you are a long boarder (or just getting started..) there’s a gorgeous chill surfing spot at Mag Rock. Taxi can get you to/from and you can rent longboards on site. They also do lessons; the same instructor I had for lessons at Rancho Santana was working there — if you do make it to Mag Rock, I recommend the less-fancy of the two rental spots; nice boards, people are chill and very knowledgeable.
