My group had a terrific 3 night stay at Nico’s place and loved the peaceful surroundings as well as the complimentary breakfast & coffee. A fantastic option for exploring the Matapalo area, would come right back.

We had an incredible stay at Ojo Del Mar, a little jungle paradise right on the ocean. The beach cabin is private and allows you to sleep with the sounds of the jungle and waves all around you. The staff is wonderful and the dinners made by Nico were delicious and healthy.

Absolutely incredible! I can’t recommend this place enough. Water front accommodation with the perfect mix of comfort and wilderness. The outdoor shower with hot water and lush green forest were the highlight, but the best of the best is the food. Five-star like delicious dishes. Nicolas and Mauro were amazing hosts and made our time at Ojo del Mar amazing!

The ecolodge is a magical property surrounded by the vegetation and fauna of Matapalo. There is a central structure, where breakfast is served and also used as a restaurant, very nice and cozy. There is a swimming pool with deck chairs and hammocks facing the beach. The room we stayed in is on the top floor of a very nice, all-wood and open structure. Downstairs, there are two more beds. The bathroom is located outdoors, with an outdoor shower and very fragrant products. The property is located near the beaches of Matapalo, from Playa Dulce to Backwash. Nearby, there is also a bar restaurant. We were greeted by very kind and helpful staff, with whom it was a pleasure to chat. Magical atmosphere!

We really loved our stay at the beach house of Ojo del Mar! The property is surrounded by a luscious jungly garden that provides lots of privacy. Right at our arrival we saw a family of spider monkeys and lapas playing in the trees and later some agoutis and a coatimundi walking around the beach house - what a magical place! We slept very well with the sound of the ocean and enjoyed the delicious breakfast the next morning. Thank you for having us!

We had a great time in Ojo de Mar, an oasis of nature and well-being, thanks also to the presence of Nicolas and his wonderful assistant in the kitchen! The road leading to Cabo Matapalo is not in good condition, however with a 4x4 and with time available you can arrive without major problems. We would like to return and spend more time on the Osa Peninsula, a real paradise on earth.

We loved staying at Nico's place! The actual property is beautiful, with lots of animals right outside our lodge. It was also really clean and had a surprising amount of amenities (a small pool and central house with books, games, etc.). The food was great - highly recommend you purchase the dinner in addition to getting the free breakfast. I recommend to anyone visiting Osa who wants a few days of peace and relaxation.

This is an amazing place and will forever be a special place in our hearts! The location is steps from the beach with an ocean view to wake up to. You can bird watch from the upper sofa! The food is also really delicious. Highly recommend and do not pass up on this spot!

We had a lovely stay at Nicos’ wildly creative, quiet and beautiful place. It was just what we needed after some days in a busy surf town. Food and drinks were remarkably tasty. Wilderness all around. A lovely spot for a secluded getaway.
