Experience a tropical retreat in our beautiful 2-bedroom condo located on the 12th floor of Punta Esmeralda in Punta Leona, Costa Rica. Enjoy stunning ocean views from every room and a private balcony designed for relaxation.

The condo features:

  • One with a bunk bed (queen-size lower bunk and twin-size upper bunk), perfect for families or friends

• Private balcony with seating to take in breathtaking sunsets and fresh ocean air

Additional amenities include air conditioning in all rooms, a quiet washer and dryer in the hallway, a dishwasher, high-speed Wi-Fi, cable TV, towels, and toiletries provided for your convenience.

Wildlife highlights include colorful macaws often seen resting on a large tree near the parking area. During mating and birthing seasons (January to March and September to December), you might also spot blue whales offshore.

Punta Esmeralda is part of the Punta Leona Complex, about 1.5 hours from San Jose International Airport. The pristine Playa Mantas beach is just a 3-minute walk away, offering soft golden sands and clear waters.

• Punta Leona Wildlife Refuge: Explore trails to see tropical birds, monkeys, and other wildlife.
• Mantas Beach: Ideal for sunbathing, swimming, and surfing.
• Snorkeling and scuba diving excursions to vibrant coral reefs with diverse marine life.

• Restaurants serving authentic Costa Rican cuisine, including fresh seafood and traditional dishes.

For groceries, local markets are available along the route from San Jose, especially near Quebrada Ganado before entering Punta Leona. A small shop near the pool area, accessible with your guest bracelet, offers basic supplies.

Recommended nearby restaurants include La Ostra and Los Guarumos.

Guest Access and Arrival Instructions

Check-in time is 3:00 PM, and check-out is at 11:00 AM.

To access the property:

1. Bring valid identification (driver’s license, passport, or cedula) for all guests aged 18 and over to receive an access code from building administration.
2. Enter Punta Leona through the right entrance as a visitor using the provided code.
3. Drive carefully along the narrow, winding road for 8-10 minutes, passing landmarks such as "El Bambu" and a cluster of houses.
4. Look for the Punta Esmeralda sign on the right about 0.25 miles past these landmarks.
5. At the Punta Esmeralda security gate, provide the access code again to obtain a green guest bracelet, which must be worn throughout your stay.
6. Park in any available spot in front of the building and take the elevator to the 12th floor.
7. Turn left on the 12th floor to find your unit and use the key box for entry.

For departure:

• Leave the green bracelet on the dining table.
• Clean the washer and dryer filters if used.
• Check for personal belongings.
• Turn off all appliances and lights.
• Return air conditioning remote controls to their pockets.
• Close all windows and balcony doors.
• Load dirty dishes into the dishwasher.
• Remove all food from the refrigerator.
• Leave the key in the outside key box and change the combination.

Transportation options to Punta Esmeralda include Interbus Shuttle, private drivers, Uber, or car rentals. Please coordinate transportation arrangements with the host in advance if needed.

Pool and Entertainment Area Guidelines

• No glass or sharp objects allowed in the pool area.
• Avoid loud music.
• Food and drinks are not permitted in the pool.
• Unauthorized parties, pets, smoking or vaping, late check-outs without notice, and loss of keys or bracelets will incur penalty fees.

Please note that guests do not have access to the Hotel Punta Leona premises but may enjoy nearby amenities such as a small market and ice cream store. Recently, guests have been allowed to purchase takeout from two of the hotel’s restaurants. The host will provide details on hours and contact information.
