Travel from San José International Airport (SJO) may take around 5 hours depending on traffic and peak season conditions.

The villas are beautiful and the security staff and housekeeping were very friendly and did great. The property was very well maintained and very quiet. Location is right next to the JW Marriott so you can access their amenities easily. The beach club is nice and very cheap daily rate for guest staying at the property.

This is a wonderful place and an amazing community to stay - this is our second time renting in the area and would highly recommend. Our lower rating is only bc of the particular condo we stayed in - explanation below. The staff is amazing and the place is incredibly safe! Our place had a few issues that can be fixed and then this will be a 5 star place again! Our dishwasher did not work which is a real nuisance to have to wash dishes for 10 people on vacation. The staff was aware and said they were waiting on parts. The curtains in the upstairs front bedroom are covered in mold and need to be changed. The other upstairs bedroom (not master) had a terrible smell coming from somewhere in the bathroom. Our guests kept the door continually shut with the bathroom window open to try and help with the smell. There are no fans in some of the bathrooms so I think bc of the high humidity it is very hard to air out. With all that being said - we still love this place and will return. Thank you

The main air conditioner did not work, the dishwasher did not work; we did not have soap to wash the dishes and cooking utensils

I booked two nights at Villa Aguamarina for my daughter's wedding. It is a beautiful rental. My daughter's wedding was at Las Palapas at Hacienda Pinilla and the Villa was less than a five-minute walk to the venue. It was the perfect location for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready for the wedding and take some photos. Mauricio was very helpful and answered all of my questions. The photos are an accurate representation of the Villa. The area around the Villa is beautiful and peaceful. We even saw a few deer.

The house is spectacular, beautiful view. Negative, the bathroom in the main room had no hot water. The ground floor room only had hot water. The worst part is that the Wi-Fi never worked throughout the stay.

Although it is true the place is like the photos and the beach is close. The internet didn't work for us which greatly affected the experience and considering that we were going to work, another issue that had never happened to me is that I had to move to check out 6 minutes from the house.

The house and property were great! The host was very helpful with the many questions we had. Security and housekeeping were also very friendly. The house was clean and housekeeping came everyday during the stay. The house was a little hard to find the first day so I wish instructions/signs were a little more helpful. The property is dark at night but we felt safe leaving and returning. I will also say the property is a little drive from Tamarindo.. about 25-30 minutes but it wasn’t terrible. The road leading to the resort is very bumpy so be careful driving.
