As a family of 5, we enjoyed 5 wonderful days at Casa de los Monos and really got to experience the Costa Rican beach lifestyle! We read the reviews of the property in advance & carefully checked Sarah's information. We were delighted with the superbly equipped kitchen, and the air conditioning allowed us to enjoy cool breaks inside the house. The kids enjoyed playing with different toys again. We were allowed to use the washing machine (Costa Rican style) and appreciated the convenient clothes drying rack. Fortunately, we were the only ones who used the courtyard, and we enjoyed our meals there. The whole family slept well and restfully. At Casa de los Monos, we really appreciated the proximity to the beach, the many restaurants, and everything you need in Samara within walking distance! Sarah, who is from Switzerland, was very attentive, helpful, and organized a great excursion for us.

This was our first really bad Airbnb experience - we tried to make the best of it but did not find this Airbnb to match the pictures - there is personal belongings and storage everywhere - the bedroom window in the casa is not even real - it just goes to a storage area. The lack of AC in bedrooms, difficulty with nowhere to sit, clutter, and loud and unsafe feeling street made for a difficult visit. We rented the casa de los monos and my parents rented the casita - they did not feel the lock was sufficient and left immediately. We ended up moving elsewhere also after trying to make it work. There was just nowhere to be and it is really hot midday. We were all wishing for more comfort, and less noise. Being close to the beach was nice, but you don't want to spend all day on Samara beach, especially at low tide.

Sarah was very kind and responsive, even though she was out of the country. The casita is just a block from the beach, which was very convenient, and also right in town, so it's easy to walk everywhere. The kitchen was nice. We did struggle to find a way to relax at the unit. There is no living room, no seats or couches or hammocks. The only place to relax is on the beds. Even the kitchen table is extremely small, and the chairs are such that you can't actually scoot yourself in. It is also the only workspace/surface in the unit. It would have been nice to have somewhere to chill in the AC during the heat of the day (which gets quite toasty!). (And note that the AC is only in the kitchen, and barely makes its way in to the bedrooms.)

Just a quick walk to a beautiful beach, restaurants, farmers market and shopping. If you are planning on sticking to Samara you don’t need a car from this location. The beach is perfect for little kids to get acclimated to the ocean

We really enjoyed our stay at Sarah's and Memo's house. The house is a 2-minute walk from the wonderful beach, restaurants and shopping are also very close without disturbing the peace. Now and then monkeys run across the roof or sleep in the surrounding trees. The kids were particularly happy about the many toys. The property is also very well equipped. Sarah and Memo were extremely friendly, gave us many tips and helped us with a car breakdown and various activities. We highly recommend the Casa de Monos and if we come back to Samara, we will definitely book with them. :-)

Perfect location!! At the beach in one minute walk and everywhere else very quick and easy yet felt like a secluded, quiet little retreat. Host was lovely and accommodating.

The house is exactly as pictured with working fans and air conditioning which was super helpful during the hot days. The location is what really stands out, you are steps away from the beach and a surf school that can provide days of enjoyment. Sarah was so helpful during our stay. I would highly recommend staying here!
