The Space

Welcome to Pura Vida Casas, a private estate consisting of three complete villas located on Costa Rica’s Central Pacific Coast. This 12-bedroom, 9-bathroom property spans 13,500 square feet and comfortably accommodates 24 to 32 guests. It is perfect for families and private events such as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, retreats, and reunions.

The three villas are adjacent to each other, providing both privacy and communal spaces. Notable gathering areas include:

• Covered outdoor party and yoga deck with a capacity of 100 people
• Rancho Grande area accommodating up to 35 people

Additional neighboring homes are available for larger groups upon request.

Each villa features its own kitchen, living and dining areas, and laundry room. There is also a separate professional chef kitchen reserved for catering services.

The estate includes three private pools, offers ocean and rainforest views, and has 24/7 gated security. Amenities include fiber optic internet with Wi-Fi, smart TVs, central air conditioning, ceiling fans in every room, and a ping pong table.

Concierge and Services

Chloe, your dedicated concierge with 12 years of experience living in Costa Rica, is available to assist with trip coordination before and during your stay. Services she can arrange include:

• Catering and chef services
• Massage therapy
• Surf lessons

Optional in-house services offered upon inquiry:

• Private chef services (using the separate chef kitchen)

Climate and Energy Use

The villas are equipped with central air conditioning and ceiling fans in every room. Guests typically use air conditioning primarily in the evenings when the breezes subside. During the day, natural ventilation is maintained by gentle hilltop breezes and a large stairwell design that creates a chimney effect to expel hot air. Nighttime temperatures can sometimes be cool.

To promote energy conservation, the rental rate includes an average daily electricity allowance of 60 kWh per villa (180 kWh total for all three homes). Any usage exceeding this allowance will be charged at $0.90 per kWh at checkout. Most guests do not exceed this limit due to the natural cooling features of the homes.

Location

The estate is situated on a 400-acre ranch in Esterillos Este on Costa Rica’s Central Pacific Coast. It is approximately 80 miles (1.5 hours) from San José International Airport (SJO) and just a 5-minute drive to the nearest beach.

The property lies between the popular tourist towns of Jacó and Quepos/Manuel Antonio, providing easy access to a wide range of local attractions and activities.

Convenience is enhanced by a grocery store and several restaurants located about half a mile from the ranch entrance, with additional dining options available in Jacó, roughly 15 miles north.

Guest Access and Parking

Guests have full access to all three villas, including the surrounding gardens and pools. The garages are reserved for owners. Parking is available on private driveways and on the street on the north side of the property.

House Rules

Please review the following rules before booking:

1. No smoking is allowed inside the homes. Smoking is permitted outdoors only if smoke and odors do not enter the house. Dispose of cigarette butts in ashtrays. Illegal drugs, including marijuana, are prohibited on the property. Violations may incur a $300 fee.

2. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Guests must respect neighbors by avoiding loud music or noise outside the homes and on terraces or ranchos during these hours. Complaints may result in forfeiture of the security deposit. Events held on the event deck are exempt from quiet hours as there are no nearby neighbors.

3. The rental rate includes an average daily electricity allowance of 180 kWh for all three homes combined (60 kWh per home). Guests are encouraged to conserve energy. Excess electricity usage will be charged at $0.90 per kWh at checkout.

4. Pets require prior approval before booking. Only well-behaved, house-trained, and non-threatening pets are allowed. Guests are responsible for any damage caused by their pets. The property is not fenced, so pets must be supervised and kept on a harness or leash. A $100 fee per pet is collected at check-in, with a maximum of three pets allowed across all three homes.

5. Safety disclaimer: Guests accept full responsibility for any incidents occurring on the premises, including the pool area. The owners and their agents are not liable for any loss, damage, or injury, including death, regardless of cause or negligence. Pools are not fenced, so extra caution is advised when traveling with young children.

6. No acts of prostitution, legal or illegal, are permitted on the property. Adult nudity is prohibited outside the homes. Violations will result in immediate eviction and loss of the security deposit.

7. Weekend and short stays (2-3 nights) can only be confirmed within 30 days prior to arrival.

8. Accessibility: While rooms are spacious and doorways large, some villas may not be fully wheelchair accessible. Please inquire before booking.

9. Events are allowed only with prior approval and may incur additional fees. Contact the host for event policies.
