A big thank you to Juan and Liseth for their warm welcome, the many moments of exchange and the excellent meals shared. Here, you should not expect a standard hotel: the accommodation is simple and you live in the heart of the farm, but that's precisely what makes it so rich. We come above all to live a real local experience, authentic and off the beaten track. We particularly enjoyed the fully homemade cooking, prepared with products from the garden and surroundings. We enjoyed the little getaway just a ten-minute walk away, we saw howler monkeys and enjoyed a beautiful sunset. An ideal place for those looking for a sincere, human and natural immersion.

This visit was very special and inspiring for us. The stay made us forget time, a pure real life experience on a finca. Lisseth and Juan Carlos, but also the rest of the family, are warm and sweet people with a lot of attention to nature, people and animals. They are very hospitable and give you a glimpse into their lives. Lisseth is a caring hostess and a fantastic cook and Juan Carlos is a hugely enthusiastic and social host. Thanks for this wonderful experience!

JC and Lisseth were warm, helpful and informative hosts you made us feel very welcome at their amazing place. The food was delicious and healthy, the treatments we received from Lisseth’s sister were excellent - we slept like logs and awoke revived and ready for our subsequent volcano hike. I loved spending time listening to the sounds of the farm and wildlife around me, especially the scratching of the chickens and chicks and plethora of amusing voices/vocalisations used by Rocky the parrot (who is very much free to do his own thing). The experience felt very authentic, a taste of Nicaraguan life with a wonderful family. JC helped us with arrangements for our pick up from the port (and early morning return), scooter hire and arranging a guide (the lovely Lester) for our volcano hike. Our stay at Finca Don Mincho has been the highlight of our travels through Central America and will stay with us for a long time. We hope to return one day with much improved Spanish!

We had an exceptionally nice time at JC and Lisseth's. The property was located away from the well-known tourist places in a small village. JC organized a taxi for us from the harbor. Upon arrival, we received a warm welcome from man and beast. Our cabin was simple, but we had everything we needed. JC and Lisseth provided us daily with the best fresh vegan food from their own cultivation. The family also accommodated us for the organization of different activities - they organized a scooter for us as well as a tour on the Conception; JC's tour through the garden was also super interesting and we learned a lot. We can also especially recommend Jariella's offer. We had the best and most relaxing treatment with her, which consisted of a soothing massage, acupuncture and cupping. Dear Lisseth, dear JC, dear Luis and dear Jariella, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the wonderful days and the unforgettable time! ❤️

This is a gem of a place and I absolutely loved my time here. The hosts were so interactive and they put in a lot of effort to make sure you feel comfortable, but understand this is a unique stay and it’s not for everyone. If you’re curious what it’s like, think of it like camping. You have a little bamboo/ wood shack with a bathroom, outdoor shower, bed, fan, and small lamp. The property is a beautiful farm with chickens and dogs running around. The hosts serve wonderful fresh breakfast at any time you want. And they went above and beyond to make sure I was able to hike Concepcion (something that was really important to me). This stay is about an hour motorbike ride to the part of the island with all the hostels - which is about halfway across the island. If you are a budget traveler considering this place vs hostels, my recommendation is to spend a few nights here and a few nights on the other end of the island.

The best experience I've had so far, on my travels, it's often called "feel at home," it was the first time I really felt that way. I very much enjoyed the conversations with JC and learned a lot about Nicaragua. With Luis the guide, I climbed the volcano and it was a great experience, which I recommend to anyone who has the leg muscles for it. The food was great, there is authentic Nivaraguan food, which always tasted good, almost everything grown on the farm or organized from the village. I would like to advise anyone interested in the culture and people of this country to visit this Airbnb and for me that is the reason to travel at all, so it was/is the perfect place for me and what I needed to arrive here in Nicaragua. I hope I have the opportunity to come back many times.

A wonderful escape into the jungle even if it was only for one night. JC and Lisseth are exceptional hosts that make you feel instantly at home. The cabin is rustic but has everything you need. All of JC’s recommendations were well thought out and he always made sure I was well taken care of. The dinner they made was excellent, fresh, and healthy. I would definitely recommend staying here and hope to come back one day.

This stay was truly special. The place felt like a peaceful escape into nature. The family was incredibly kind, cooked me delicious homemade breakfast and dinner, and went out of their way to help with transportation and local recommendations. They even introduced me to a lovely local who showed me around the island—I felt so welcomed and cared for the entire time. I’ll never forget their hospitality. I Really recommend!

An incredible place where you can feel comfortable in nature and the real experience of the daily life of Nicaragua Juan and his wife have made us feel at home with delicious meals and also great for organizing tours of the volcano. We also took advantage of the massages and various treatments that have regenerated us. Juan is a person of great culture and kindness. It was a long chat ... what to say thank you for the beautiful experience you gave us!!!
