The Space
El Mirador, also known as "Castle Tower," is a peaceful retreat offering stunning views of Potrero Bay and Flamingo Beach. This charming 388 square foot studio is thoughtfully designed to provide all the essentials for cooking, bathing, sleeping, and internet access, making it ideal for remote work or working from home.
Situated 35 meters above sea level, El Mirador provides a unique vantage point to observe aquatic birds as they glide along thermal currents between the two bays throughout the day. Access to this elevated studio involves climbing 60 steps from the main house, rewarding guests with spectacular panoramic views.
The studio features air conditioning, ceiling fans, and a compact kitchen equipped with a stove, microwave, and refrigerator. The property’s pool is located at the front and is shared with the main house and two additional units.
Guest Access
Guests have access to:
- The shared pool (open from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM)
- A washer located in the garage
- Parking for up to four cars
Pool rules include no glass containers or pets allowed in the pool area. If leaves accumulate in the pool, cleaning tools are available in the garage; please return them after use.
Location and Parking
The property entrance is steep. Most vehicles can navigate the driveway, but space is limited to three spots. If the driveway is full or your vehicle cannot make the ascent, additional parking is available 10 meters from the house at the bottom of the driveway on the main road to the right.
The grocery store is conveniently located 400 meters away along a paved road on the north ridge of Flamingo. Nearby beaches and secluded coves suitable for swimming and snorkeling are all within walking distance.

If you need peace with a beautiful view, this is the place! Going to the beach is not hard with many golf cart rentals, parking, or walking ( I like the challenge of walking up and down the hill. not for everyone). also, I would read and watch the sunrise while listen to the ocean. This stay brought me a lot of peace and grounding. I was very gratitude to have this present moment to reflect and relax.

The views make this place worth it. It’s definitely a cottage stay vibe. It was clean but be aware the red ants and geckos are common in all of Costa Rica I’ve found the front doors are never a tight seal. The neighbourhood was worrisome on first arrival with some graffiti on neighbouring properties and no gate or security on Yarinas property but we didn’t run into any trouble and felt safe. It is very close to the new Marina with fancier restaurants. We ate at JB’s bar which was good. The two close by beaches are nice - Playa Flamingo for morning or sunset walks are a must. 5 mins to Playa Carrillo - more private with no restaurants or people trying to sell you stuff so pack a lunch and drinks! The AirBnB provided camping chairs came in handy for our beach days. We also enjoyed coming home to the cat on the property everyday. Overall our stay was cute and rustic and would recommend for couples that don’t mind the more rustic stay.

Dumpy neighbourhood, garbage, graffiti, abandoned buildings. Algae in pool. Air conditioner needs maintenance cannot lower less than 22c and smells moldy. Cannot cook if AC does not cool space down. Host does not respond for days!

Easy drive up the hill to the Airbnb with good parking options downstairs or just outside the property. Strong AC + fan combo considering it was in mid 90s our entire trip. We stayed for 7 days and it’s a wonderful location, has everything you need to make coffee or cook if you’d like. Spectacular views - definitely true about the flight of stairs you have to take to go earn it!
