We had a wonderful stay here with my husband and our two children (ages 10 and 9). The home was very clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. The property itself was beautiful. The only issue we encountered was some trash, debris, and seasonal sargassum on the beach, which made us uncomfortable letting our kids play there. We let the property management team know, and they were incredibly responsive, kind, and quick to resolve the issue. We really appreciated how seriously they took our concerns. The surrounding area was wonderful, the locals were so friendly, and the food was absolutely amazing. One thing to note for families with younger children is that the upstairs bedrooms aren’t connected to the main living area from inside, but the door at the bottom of the stairs locks securely, and it worked well for us. We’d definitely stay here again!

What a wonderful place to stay for our vacation. The location was unbeatable with ocean views from every room of the house. The beach next to the house almost felt private too as there was hardly anyone but us out there as far as we could see. We stayed with two families and two young kids and it was ideal for everyone! We hope to come back someday.

The Slow Loris was even better than we expected. The location is perfect. Secluded but close to everything. We loved being on the beach. The pool was a great addition. We rented a van and we were close enough to drive to jungle and mountain adventures. When we came back we hopped on golf carts to ride to the village in 10 minutes for all the local food and activities. The host met us at check-in and everything was explained to us. It couldn’t have been a better experience.

This was the first Airbnb that made us reconsider hotels. There were definitely positives: the beach setting is beautiful, the pool is lovely, and the caretaker next door was kind and helpful. At check-in, your ID is scanned and you are handed six separate keys, which made us chuckle. We were told during the walkthrough about a persistent beeping sound and a fan/light in the living room that could not be turned off. Other issues added up: a nonworking oven and oven hood, flat pillows with stained pillowcases, and a sliding door that became too difficult to use. Seating was limited aside from the 3 pool loungers, and security cameras overlooking the pool and upper deck made it hard to relax. The separate-building layout felt awkward, especially with kids. Be prepared for gecko droppings throughout the house, including on bedding, plus mouse droppings around the outdoor grill. The lower room so smelled musty that we did not use it. Unannounced visits from contractors felt intrusive.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. Exactly what we wanted… away from the crowds, right in the beach and plenty of space for the kids to play. We were 6 adults and 2 small kids and it was nice to have our own space.

We love staying at the Slow Loris! Great location to rest and unwind while being close enough to all the town has to offer. This year we flew into Placencia and rented a golf cart for the duration of our trip - worked out perfectly. You can be to groceries/restaurants/shopping in 10 minutes. The layout of the house works well for people to have their own space, while having a central area to hang out and eat. We also love having the option of both the pool and a private beach area. I would recommend this house for families or a group of friends!

Beautiful location. The house layout was great with the bedrooms separate from the main living area. Beautiful pool and beautiful beach. Would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful place right on the beach! Could use some more places to sit/lounge (there’s 3 pool chairs for a house that sleeps 6+ and could use some comfortable/lounge seating in the outdoor living space & rooftop deck or beach). Super responsive team was very kind!
