The Space
Bring your family or group of friends to Casa Hacienda, a spacious retreat designed for sharing, celebrating, relaxing, and enjoying nature.
Casa Hacienda is the largest remodeled house at the former Posada de Santiago. It features:
- A large garden
- A balcony with beautiful lake views
The lakeside facilities are approximately 100 meters from Casa Hacienda and are shared by around 10 cottages. They include:
- Swimming pool
- Jacuzzi
- Sauna
- Dock
- Kayaks
- Barbecue area
- Fire pit
- Yoga hut
This property is intended for guests who want to relax and enjoy nature. It is not suitable for parties.
Quiet Hours and Community Rules
Parties are not permitted at Posada de Santiago or in any of its houses.
Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. The community does not allow:
- Amplified music
- Shouting
- Excessive drinking, even before quiet hours begin
These rules help preserve the experience of other guests and prevent neighbors from being disturbed.
If you would like to continue talking outdoors, please use the dock or the palapa by the lakeside. If noise from other guests bothers you, please inform us and, preferably, the guardian.
Although we do our best to control noise at Posada de Santiago, we have limited control over sounds from nearby houses, the village, or the street. During holidays and local festivals, you may especially hear noise and fireworks.
Nature and Subtropical Environment
Casa Hacienda is located in a natural, subtropical environment. As with many homes around the lake, you may occasionally see local wildlife, including insects or other small creatures.
Our cleaning staff does their best to remove them, but small creatures may sometimes enter without permission. We appreciate your understanding and ask that you let us know if you see anything unexpected so we can take care of it.
Access to the Lake
The lakeshore is approximately 80–100 meters from Casa Hacienda. Reaching the shore requires crossing a road.

We had a lovely weekend! The house had everything we needed. We enjoyed slow dinners on the porch, sunset in the jacuzzi by the lake and morning kayak paddles. It was extremely peaceful and all 8 of us felt at home. Perfect weekend.

Santiago is a different experience than many other places on Lake Atitlan, and honestly, the frenetic pace of the city itself can be a little overwhelming. Posada de Santiago offers welcome respite. This was a lovely home and we LOVED the restaurant!

This Airbnb was a little gem in Lake Atitlan. Hosts were very responsive, and the neighbor Chris (who lives on the property) was super helpful with recommendations and assistance when we needed extra fans. The home looks exactly like the pictures and all the extra info was very accurate. Expect to find ants and spiders- that's just part of the environment where this property is. They provided insect repellent as well. We just checked all windows and walls/bedding prior to going to bed. Our stay was in August, so during the day if you're away, the home gets hot from having everything closed up. It did cool down once we got back, opened windows and with the fans on. We booked massages in the palapa by the pool- which was amazing, and the restaurant which is down the walkway was AMAZING! The staff was exceptional and accommodating. They even had recommendations for us and called a private lancha to take us around the lake. Overall, a great stay and the views were great.

A fabulous house for the family. Very clean, with spaces to relax and socialize, a view of the lake, and comfortable. Access to the lake is phenomenal and the hosts are attentive.

This place was perfect for our stay in Antigua. It’s in a beautiful setting - our window overlooked the ruins of Santa Rosa and the volcanos- and it’s a quick walk to restaurants and the center of town. The grounds were beautiful and well cared for. You are in a gated complex and can enter from either side depending on where you want to go. The house had everything we needed including cooking essentials and some spices and Gustavo helped with anything else. There was AC if needed. Everything was clean and cozy. The space actually looks even nicer than the pictures show. There’s a beautiful view from the second floor balcony which is off the office off the bedroom. The kids enjoyed playing outside in the yard and meeting some other kids staying nearby. You will have neighbors as there are about 4 units in each building (separate entrances)- and 4 buildings in the complex but everyone we met was very friendly. We are already planning our next trip to stay here again.
