Casa Tranquila was a mixed bag for our family for four. We read many reviews before our stay so we were aware of what we were getting into.
Pros: It's RIGHT on the beach. The location is incredible. It's a funky and rustic little cabin. You literally step off the back porch into the sand. The Bus Bar next door was adorable, and we loved Café Mediterráneo for breakfast and smoothies. Great for walking on the beach and exploring. It honestly felt a little bit like camping, which is something we love to do.
Cons: Response times from the host very slow, and the house was not ready when we arrived. The kitchen had no pots/pans so it wasn't really usable. There was an AC unit on the upper level, but it was not functional. Coming from a colder climate, it was an uncomfortably hot night of sleep. We were not expecting a 5-star resort, but some small changes could make this place very special and enjoyable.

TLDR: the place provides more of a glamping expereince than anything else.
The location is amazing! Right on the beach and next to a few great bars and cafes. We couldn't have asked for a better local and vibe.
That said it is VERY RUSTIC - more than the listing alludes to. There are many amazing ways to describe Fyfe's beach-side hut but clean is not one of them. A little bit of TLC, some fresh linens, pillows, and decent fans would go a long way. Overall it was a blast for a group of mid-twenties guys with the goal of surfing and hanging out on the beach.
Additionally we only had running water and power every other day. This wasn't the hosts fault - it was a town-wide thing while we were there due to local construction - but this was never commuincated to us before or after booking and something we would have liked to know ahead of time. Outside of that communication was relatively quick and Emilio was a great resource.

This place was surreal! We had the most calmest and prettiest days here! Beach front and right next to our new favorite bar!! There are stray dogs and cats on the property that are super sweet and will come in the house lol! Over all the places we visited in nicaragua this place was our favorite!

The chalet is dreamy, practically on the beach. But the real gem is Emilio, a true fisherman, who also gave me the joy of going out with him and his friends on the boat to fish. An unforgettable experience.

A magical place to be in front of the ocean and you can walk to Popoyo Main... the wave is very good! Emilio helped us find a good contact to go by boat to other spots in the area. He welcomed us very well and was always very friendly and helpful. The little house is beautiful, there is a kitchen with several useful things and the wifi works very well.

The place is perfect if you are looking for a rustic cabin right on the beach.
It’s a very typical experience, living so close to the fisherman and housekeeper Emilio’s family was the highlight! Our kids played together and we had access to the freshest fish. Emilio and his family are amazing people, helpful and open-hearted. I would come back just for them.
About the staircase: I trusted my kids with the staircase but it’s more of a ladder, very steep.
Also note that some of the pictures are outdated, the outside has changed, there is a cute bus bar next door which added to the atmosphere, music wasn’t loud at all and stopped at around 9pm. It’s very charming. The cabin itself has also changed a bit, some repairs on the roof make it look a bit patched up and ran down but to be fair I think it added to the charm, again it’s adorable and very rustic.

The location is absolutely amazing, very central and convenient. However, the house itself could have been cleaner, and one of the beds had no bedsheets on arrival. Communication with the host was slower than expected — when the light and water went off, it took nearly half a day to have them reinstated. Overall still a great location, though a bit on the pricey side for the experience

We had a truly wonderful time in casa tranquila. Emilio, who takes care of the place, is a really nice guy - he helps out with everything needed. It surely is not a luxurious place, so don't expect that! But if you are up for some puristic time close to the ocean, then it is perfect. Thanks for the great stay!

The location of this property is truly unbeatable—right in front of the ocean, with stunning views that were by far the highlight of our stay. However, we were very surprised to discover that the house is located directly next to a bar, wall to wall, which is not mentioned in the listing or shown in the photos. This isn’t new; the bar has clearly been there for a long time.
We chose this property because it appeared to be private, so this was quite a shock. While the bar owner was genuinely kind—he even came over to check on us and offered to lower the music—the reality is that there’s noise and very little privacy, with people often walking through the porch area.
The house itself could benefit from some maintenance and a deeper clean, but Emilio, who looks after the place, is friendly and willing to help however he can.
So if you're mainly there for the unbeatable beachfront setting and don’t mind the buzz of activity next door, it could work for you.

Beautiful beach house on frontline viewing the ocean
Emilio was super helpfull and kind to us
A bit noisy and until late because of the bus bar just next to it
People just go All day and night ou your private retrace ..
Stairs are really hard do climb so not made for Kids or old people
Beside that best sunset of holidays and best lobster thanks to Emilio and los amores
Wonderfull to sleep with loud noise of waves and admire this view when you wake up

The place is exceptional and Emilio was proactive and friendly. Unfortunately, the accommodation is not clean as the bathroom, the sheets, the sofa, it looks like there is no maintenance between the guests. Too bad for such a nice place.

Our stay in Casa Tranquila was absolutely wonderful! The view was breathtaking, and we had such a peaceful and relaxing time. The sound of the waves at night can be quite loud (nature’s own soundtrack, haha!), but it just adds to the experience. The remoteness of the place is part of its charm, but I’d definitely recommend doing your grocery shopping beforehand, as the local shops are quite small and pricey. We loved every minute of our stay—watching stunning sunsets from our window, taking long walks on the beach, and just soaking in the beauty of this place. Highly recommend!

You can not beat this location! It is breathtaking. An amazing place to swing in the hammock and listen to the waves or sit and watch the sunset. Some things to be aware of are that it is small (so good for 2 or maybe 3 people, if you can all sleep in one room). It is also very rustic, which is part of its charm. It has all the basics you need though. Emilio the property manager is wonderful and will help you with anything you need.
