The Space

This spacious, rustic two-bedroom apartment is located on the second floor. It includes three beds, one bathroom, a large kitchen area, and a living room. The apartment is equipped with three air conditioning units, ceiling fans, and standing fans to help manage the heat. Please note, there is no pool on the property. Quietness is expected to maintain a peaceful environment.

Location

The apartment is situated about a 10-minute walk from the beach and approximately 15 minutes on foot to the town center, where you will find restaurants and shops. It offers a perfect setting for relaxation.

Property Description

Welcome to The California, a two-story building nestled in a safe and quiet neighborhood with simple, rustic charm. Located south of Jaco Beach, the property is roughly a 10-minute walk from the ocean.

The studios are designed with artistic touches and come with clean bed linens and two fresh towels. Each room features windows fitted with mosquito screens to keep bugs out. While this is not a beachfront property, it is set in a peaceful residential area.

From the nearby beach, you can enjoy surf lessons, swimming, sunsets, and horseback riding tours. The town is a 15-minute walk away, offering access to various tours, supermarkets, retail shops, dining options, banks, and ATMs.

Guest Access

The California is located on Calle Santana.

• From the North: On Avenida Pastor Diaz, you will pass the Municipalidad building, a church, and a small bridge/overpass. The Beach Break Hotel will be on your right, and Calle Santana on your left. Turn left onto Calle Santana and look for Hotel Perico Azul, which is directly across from the main gate entrance.

• From the South: On Avenida Pastor Diaz, pass Club del Cielo, and Calle Santana will be on your right. Turn right here and look for Hotel Perico Azul opposite the main gate.

• From the Local Bus Stop: If you get off at the Beach Break Hotel, Calle Santana will be right in front of you. If you stop at the Municipalidad building, follow the directions from the North.

• From the Main Bus Station: Located in the town center, it is about a 30-minute walk. A taxi or Uber is recommended (approximately $4-6 USD). Ask for Hotel Perico Azul on Calle Santana and then follow the directions from the North.

Entrance and Security

The main entrance features a large black iron gate directly opposite Hotel Perico Azul. There is no private parking; street parking is available. The building does not have a visible sign for The California.

Check-in is self-service, and access details will be provided via Airbnb messaging. Arrival times must be scheduled between 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Please ensure the gate is securely closed behind you to prevent it from slamming open again. While the area is safe, guests are responsible for their own security and that of others by not allowing unauthorized access.

Management is not liable for any loss, damage, or theft of personal belongings inside or outside the property.

Rules and Additional Information

• No extra guests, loudspeakers, or parties are permitted.
• Smoking is prohibited inside the rooms and common areas.
• This is an economy lodging with no reception desk, room service, or daily housekeeping.
• Airbnb contacts are available for messaging between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM for questions, transfers, and transportation assistance.
• Housekeeping visits every five days; weekly service is provided for long-term guests.
• Guests are responsible for keeping the kitchen clean and washing dishes; this is not part of housekeeping duties.
• For essentials like toilet paper, plastic bags, or maintenance issues, contact your Airbnb host between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
• Please dispose of toilet paper in the trash to avoid plumbing blockages.
• There is no guest access to the washer and dryer; these are for staff and housekeeping only.
• Use the outdoor shower to rinse off sand before entering your studio to prevent pipe blockages.
• Be cautious with your key to avoid locking yourself out. After 8:00 PM, no guest assistance is available.
