The Space
This beautiful beachfront house accommodates up to 10 guests and sits just 30 meters from a white-sand beach, surrounded by lush tropical nature. The property includes a private swimming pool and is located directly in front of coral reefs.
Puerto Viejo, with its amenities and nightlife, is approximately 7 minutes away by car. A small grocery store and several restaurants are within walking distance.
The garden is rich in tropical flora and fauna, where guests may see monkeys, toucans, and other wildlife. The sea is generally calm, clear, and safe for swimming and snorkeling.
The two-level house is set on a 3,500-square-meter lot. Housekeepers live in a small house behind the main residence and assist with property safety, garden care, and house maintenance.
The home includes:
- Three bedrooms, each with air conditioning and a private bathroom with hot water
- A fully equipped open-air kitchen
- Dining table
- Porch with a sofa and armchairs
- Upper terrace with a sofa, work table, and hammock
- Private swimming pool
The area is very quiet during the week. On weekends, the beach becomes livelier because it is one of the area’s most popular beaches.
Smoking is permitted only in outdoor areas. Pets are not allowed.

A great snorkeling reef is located directly in front of the house. Beautiful walks along Punta Uva and the wild Playa Grande beach begin right outside the property.

Guest Access
The housekeepers, a young couple, live just behind the main house. They will welcome you upon arrival, provide the keys, and offer any assistance you may need.

Juan’s beach house is a truly unique and magical experience. While we enjoyed venturing off the property to visit other beaches and nature reserves, we quickly realized that so much of what we had come to Costa Rica to experience was right there: abundant wildlife -resident sloths, iguanas, monkeys, SO many birds and a beautiful swimmable beach steps from the house! If you are looking to be immersed in nature, this is a truly amazing place to land. The house itself invites outdoor living with its upper deck, lower living/ kitchen areas and pool deck. Juan was a wonderful host, we appreciated how proactive and communicative he was. We are so grateful to have spent time here!

We had a great stay at Juan's place. Excellent location--right across from the beach, we felt like we were on the beach. Walking distance to some cool restaurants. Right when we arrived there was a group of howler monkeys in the big tree on the property. About 5 females with brand new babies! The kid's loved the new pool which we weren't expecting because we booked his place before the pool was built. It really helped with cooling off when we weren't at the beach. The bedrooms/bathrooms are very nice and closed off with AC. We enjoyed the rustic open air kitchen/living room. However, if you are someone that doesn't like bugs or critters, be warned that you are in the jungle and they will come in since the living/kitchen area does not have walls. We had a crab scuttle into the living room (which we thought was awesome) and lots of different types of big Costa Rican insects! If you drop any food, clean it up immediately or there will be a colony of ants on it in minutes :)

Our family of 6 had a great time at Juan’s place. Beautiful beach right in front of house, busy on the weekend but not too bad during the week. A/C’s worked great in the rooms and always had hot water when we showered. The caretakers that live on the property were great and answered all of our questions. We had a wonderful stay.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at a beach house listed on Airbnb, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! The location couldn't have been better—just a short walk from the beach, with stunning views and easy access to local attractions. The caretakers were incredibly welcoming and attentive, always ready to assist with any questions or needs we had during our stay. Their hospitality really made us feel at home. We also appreciated the complimentary laundry service, which made our trip even more convenient. Overall, I highly recommend this beach house for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. We had such a great time that we’re already planning our return visit!

We absolutely loved our stay here — it truly felt like our own private oasis surrounded by beautiful landscaping and wildlife. The indoor/outdoor living spaces just steps from the beach were a highlight. Juan was an excellent and attentive host, and Sujey and Alvaro were incredibly kind and hospitable. The home had everything we needed for a wonderful stay — comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. We especially enjoyed cooking and having breakfast on the patio each morning. Our family also loved exploring the area, with fantastic restaurants like Arrecife, Indigo Café (walking distance), and La Ruedita, just to name a few. During our trip, we visited the Jaguar Rescue Center, went swimming with horses with Riding the Rainforest, spent the day with a BriBri Tribe learning about plants, chocolate, customs, and history (thanks to Anitatours), and discovered so much more in Puerto Viejo. Amazing stay — we’ll definitely be back!

Esta casa nuestra favorita en el Caribe, ya no es la primera vez que elegimos para disfrutar varios días en la zona. La casa es muy cómoda, espaciosa y segura con un hermoso jardín lo que da mucha privacidad y lo mejor es que la playa esta como 20 metros. Sin duda queremos volver lo mas pronto. Muchas gracias Juan!

We spent 10 nights with our 11 year old twins at this incredible sanctuary. We spotted tons of animals, swam, snorkeled, kayaked, ate at a dozen different restaurants, went to the Jaguar Rescue Center, Cahuita National Park, Manzanillo, and did a chocolate/waterfall tour. Plenty of things to experience, as well as days to just relax on the most beautiful beach in the area, play games, and take walks. Juan was an excellent host, very responsive. His home is clean, has all the amenities, and we loved the showers. You are right at the beach. We ran back and forth from the house to the beach all day. The home is private, blends beautifully right into the landscape, and if you get good enough at wildlife spotting, you can see it all right in your yard. My kids loved their time here. We had a hard time leaving our home away from home but taking back so many wonderful memories.

Awesome place! Sujey and Alvaro were very welcoming and kind caretakers. Just a few steps away from a lovely beach. Tons of animals including monkeys, macaws, lizards and plenty others. Juan’s place was everything we were looking for and more.
