The Space

"Casa Atrapasueños" features a modern design with expansive ocean and white water views visible from nearly every part of the house. This 1,800 square foot home includes four bedrooms and three bathrooms, thoughtfully designed to highlight the stunning ocean vistas and sunsets.

The property is nestled within the El Bosque area of the Mar-A-Mar gated community, centrally located in Santa Teresa just above La Lora beach, known for its consistent surf break. Surrounded by Pochote trees, the house offers opportunities to observe wildlife such as howler monkeys, iguanas, and raccoons right from the balcony. During the dry season, when the Pochote trees shed their leaves, the views become even more impressive.

The lower level of the home includes:

• A fully equipped kitchen
• Dining area
• L-shaped couch and sitting area
• One bedroom with a queen-sized bed
• Expansive balcony ideal for enjoying sunsets
• Private infinity-edge pool with two lounge chairs
• Additional full bathroom near the pool area

A few steps up on custom Guanacaste wood stairs lead to three bedrooms, each furnished with custom-made furniture, ceiling fans, and air conditioning. The master bedroom features:

• King-sized bed
• Private bathroom
• Balcony with exceptional views, perfect for watching surfers before deciding to paddle out or rest

The adjacent guest room also has a king-sized bed with broad northern views. The third bedroom contains a queen-sized bed, and the two guest bedrooms share a bathroom.

Location

Casa Atrapasueños is situated within the secure Mar-A-Mar gated community. Upon arrival, guests pass through a guarded gate and proceed approximately 300 meters uphill (with some steep sections) to a parking lot. The home has a reserved parking spot, with additional guest parking available nearby. The house itself is about 30 meters from the parking area, offering privacy and seclusion from neighboring homes.

A 4x4 vehicle is recommended for accessing the property due to the steep and occasionally slippery hill, especially during the rainy season. While the beach is reachable by foot downhill, it is a strenuous walk, so using a car or ATV to get around town is advised.

Guest Access

Given the home's hillside location and the spectacular views it provides, renting a vehicle such as an ATV, Rhino, or 4x4 car is recommended. During the dry season, a standard car may suffice, but a 4x4 vehicle is ideal for exploring Santa Teresa’s natural attractions fully.

Amenities and Features

• Fiber optic internet service with two providers for backup reliability
• Wildlife sightings including howler and white-faced monkeys, iguanas, and raccoons
• Tropical insects such as ants, cockroaches, and geckos may be present, especially in the rainy season; this is normal and not related to cleanliness
• Power outages are common in Santa Teresa and may occur during your stay
• The area experiences high humidity, averaging 74% annually, with peaks up to 87% in October and lows around 71% in February, which can affect drying times for clothing

Additional Notes

The natural environment and local conditions are part of the authentic Costa Rican experience. Guests should be prepared for occasional power interruptions and the presence of local wildlife and insects. The high humidity typical of the region may also influence daily activities such as laundry drying.
