Laura's villa is absolutely fabulous. The pictures are 100% accurate and easily accommodated our group of 6. Rene was our local contact and I cannot speak more highly of him. The detail provided, arranging our transport to and from the villa, the instant replies to any questions and the proactive messages with all information we could have needed is by far some of the best communication I've received staying at any air bnb. A great tip, and in all honesty an absolute must, is renting a golf cart. While we did tackle the hill on occasions, it is not something you want to be doing regularly in the heat. However, do not let the hill have you question if you should visit or not, you absolutely should, and we will be back to stay in the future! Thank you for your incredible hospitality Laura and Rene!

Laura and Rene, the house manager were amazing to work with! Very responsive and very helpful and quick to respond! We have never had a house manager drop by with fresh baking to sample! The house was clean and a very nice space for our family. This had to be one of the best homes we have rented on holidays as they provided the drinking water, had awesome frying pans to cook eggs for breakfast, and had a very organized kitchen. Lots of rental homes have such poor cooking pots and pans to use. Everything was so perfect! Absolutely lovely big bedrooms with comfy beds! The bathrooms were super with such nice large tile showers! I would highly recommend this beautiful home to rent! The large decks made staying there a pleasure!

Laura’s house is gorgeous , and very peaceful. If you like nature , adventure and being outside of the noice and action you will love it . The master bedroom and main living space are stunning . René was an incredible house manager , so sweet and responsive ! He really made our stay better . There are two things I would mention , that as an Airbnb user I would like to know myself : 1) the drive up is a bit crazy, skip the golf cart and get a better 4x4 . If you go to the town to grab one the price is much cheaper. 2) keep all valuables and cash in the safes . Lock all doors and windows . We were robbed , but they only took our cash — no passports , jewelry or computers etc . Just cash , and it happened when we were not at home . The area is known for petty theft . René and Laura secured the house by adding bolt locks on ground floor sliding doors, we felt very safe afterwards . We were unlucky , but this incident world not deter me from renting here again ! Great place and hosts !

We truly enjoyed our 10 day stay at Casa Ocaso. Lovely large home perched high in the north end (quiet part of Sayulita) surrounded by jungle and birds of all sorts. Many steep hills, you’ll need one of those 4x4 carts for access into town, all part of the adventure. Rene was a great host and responded to everything we needed. House was clean, fully stocked kitchen, laundry room. Beautiful landscape surrounding the house. Lovely ocean breezes. A memorable trip ❤️ thank you

The home is beautiful and hits our “Big 4” for ‘critical’ criteria: comfortable beds, clean and well appointed bathrooms, excellent kitchen and terrific views and pool. Spacious, well equipped, and secluded / relatively quiet, plus lovely jungle atmosphere and wild birds, etc. A perfect place to “step off the ride” and just get back to yourself. Laura was an excellent ‘remote host’, but the kicker was having Rene, her locally-based host who took great care of us while we were there. Very responsive, friendly and helpful — thanks Laura and Rene! Highly recommend renting a golf cart, Razor (we loved our Razor) or car as an add-on, as the hills up from town are steep and a ‘grind’ in the heat, but if you’re fit and don’t mind some hiking / hill-climbing, it’s only 15-20 min walk down to town, and (I budgeted) 30-40 mins back up, so I could pace myself. :) Great exercise for those that want it; otherwise, you’ll want one of those vehicles.

Great home in a quiet location up a hill. The home was everything I hoped for and pool really good for family. I recommend you get a golf cart to go to and from town, the hill would be a strenuous walk, even for a very fit indevidual. Of particular note was the excelent service and almost immediate friendly response from Rene the manager in Sayulita when ever i had a question

Thank you for allowing us to stay at this wonderful place. Directions given were so clear that we arrived at night time and had no problems. Rene and Laura were very quick to respond to any concerns/questions we had. The place was very clean to include the pool. The furniture and beds were very comfortable. The place is spacious with the rooms on different floors and not on top of each other. The kitchen had everything you need to make meals there with a wonderful dining room table. The location was very quiet in which you could listen to the birds and the sounds of the waves from the beach.

5 stars… 11 out of 10! We cannot say enough positive things about our stay and experience. The home and property are absolutely stunning, pictures do not do it justice. Before you even enter, the beautiful, massive front door lets you know something special awaits. From the moment we opened the door, we were taken aback by the stunning view and aesthetic of the home. Every detail is thought of and the amenities are perfect. We felt like we had our own boutique resort without having to leave the property. It was such a great having the grill and kitchen so we could cook our own meals. One of the most surprising things was being able to actually hear the ocean waves from the pool and primary bedroom. Rene was incredibly helpful from the moment we booked through to checkout. From arranging airport transfer and golf cart to a few local recos, it helped make our trip even more relaxing. We can’t wait to come back and bring family and friends to experience this gem. Highly recommend!

When we first started up the hill to the house, we chuckled, thankful we hadn’t rented a full-sized car for the week. Other guests weren’t exaggerating—it’s a steep climb. I can’t imagine doing it with little kids daily without the use of a golf cart. The house is spacious: three bedrooms on separate levels and insane views. The levels are spread out due to the steep hillside into which the home is built. If you’re traveling with small kids, know they may be three stories below you. Also, the pool deck, where we spent most of our time, was great with our older kids, but with younger ones, the railing height and pool would’ve made me a little nervous. We had a few animal visitors on the main deck—specifically a large family of coati, one even coming by for a dip in the pool one morning. Otherwise, the bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and living area were spacious, modern, and clean, and we enjoyed our trip. Great spot. Make sure to hit the grocery stores on your way into town!

Things to note-The master bedroom is on the top floor separated by the kitchen and living space. The other two bedrooms are down 2 levels which is hard when you have kids. PROS: Beautiful view and handcrafted details. The pictures don’t even do it justice, the front door, traditional ceilings and indoor/outdoor living are amazing. It has a well stocked kitchen. The master bathroom shower overlooks the ocean at sunset and is open air- magical. Rene the property manager was quick to respond and easy to communicate with. CONS: The reason we booked this house was for the heated pool and jacuzzi. Our entire stay we were not able to heat the pool because it was broken which made it unusable as it was in the low 70s. The jacuzzi is in a very awkward location by a road. The air conditioning on the main level was broken when we arrived was then ‘fixed’ but after 2 days it started leaking all over the couch and TV. Broke the TV and couch was wet. Overall our stay was below expectations
