This breezy and spacious custom home is set on 1.5 acres of tropical garden, providing a unique and luxurious environment. The 1,640 square foot top-floor house is perfect for couples seeking relaxation.
Inspired by Thai architecture and constructed entirely from Mountain Almendro—a beautiful dark wood native to Costa Rica—the house features an open-air layout with screened windows. Two large balconies surround the home, offering plenty of space to lounge in hammocks while observing birds, sloths, and butterflies in the well-maintained garden.
The master bedroom includes a king-sized bed, a walk-in closet, and a large safe that also serves as a dry storage area for electronics. The bathroom is equipped with both a bathtub and a shower with hot water.
The kitchen comes fully stocked with a coffee maker, blender, stove, oven, and all necessary utensils to prepare your meals.

Location
The property is located just off the main road south of Puerto Viejo. It is a brief two-minute walk to the beach and within easy walking or biking distance to restaurants, bars, beaches, and other amenities.
Wildlife and Surroundings
The tropical gardens attract a variety of birds such as toucans, parrots, and oropendulas, which frequent the area during mornings and evenings. Sloths can often be seen resting in the trees above the pool, enhancing the tranquil jungle atmosphere.
Guest Access
Guests have full access to the gardens, saltwater pool (please rinse off before entering), and the meditation and yoga studio at the end of the elevated walkway.

- Parties and large gatherings are strictly prohibited.

Absolute heaven on earth! My husband and I enjoyed sitting on the gorgeous wooden porch and were fascinated by the exotic birds, iguanas and sloths.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this magical stay!!! Our host was so amazing and made us immediately feel right at home after a long day of travel. The property is a magical jungle garden that I had a hard time saying good bye to!! Even though you feel completely secluded in the jungle oasis walkability to the beach and town was perfect!! I could go on and on but essentially if you're looking for a beautiful homey stay in Peurto Vejo this is the place for you!! Pura vida💕🤙🌊

Melanie and Dawn were great hosts! So responsive and helpful. The place is like your own private oasis but still walkable to town that’s full of restaurants and shopping. It’s an ideal location with tons to do in the area. Definitely recommend staying here!

The home and garden are so peaceful and private I can’t wait to go back and visit again. The highlight of everyday was preparing fruit for the birds and watching them come to eat thought the day.

This is a magical home and jungle-garden sanctuary. It is a destination in and of itself. We felt so fortunate -- the owner, Dawn, accommodated us rather last minute (thank you!) and made us feel at home. Everything is well appointed and thoughtfully chosen, the gardens are gorgeous and healthy, and they surround the home and incredible lanai so you can see all of the wildlife (birds, lizards, butterflies, etc.) up close. It is <10 min walk to/from Puerto Viejo. If you find yourself reading this review, I highly recommend you book this place.

This place was absolutely amazing. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay in Costa Rica. Dawn stayed up late and checked us in at 11pm. And she was a plethora of amazing local! Everything from exactly where to find sloths to local farmers market. The property might as well be labeled a botanical garden of which Dawn cultivated here self. A full tour of the garden the next morning included unlimited star fruit and coconuts, and bananas all for our taking! And did I mention ruin the best sleep I’ve had in months!! Waking up to the jungle rain was a dream! Will definitely come back.

Absolutely perfect! Dawn was so friendly and her property was beautiful and pristine. Waking up to birds chirping and seeing all of the vibrant colors in this setting is about as good as life gets. Ready to return!

Beautiful home. Dawn, the host and owner, lives downstairs and she was incredibly kind and helpful. Pictures don’t do the home justice - it’s stunning - with an incredible yard. Used the pool and meditation deck daily, both of which were amazing.

The house itself is beautiful, with a stunning garden that truly stands out. However, a few things to consider. The location is right in the heart of town, which means it can be quite noisy. The host is quite hands-on and lives on-site, which I hadn’t realised beforehand. While some may appreciate the attentiveness, we found it a little less private compared to our previous Airbnb experiences. Additionally, if you’re sensitive to smoke, it’s worth noting that the host smokes frequently, and the smell can linger at times.
