Discover Vista de Oro, a six-bedroom ocean-view villa in Ocotal, Costa Rica, accommodating up to 15 guests. Set on a private peninsula, the villa features panoramic Pacific Ocean views, memorable sunsets, expansive outdoor living areas, and exceptional privacy. Five bedrooms offer ocean views.
A neighboring property is under construction near the entrance through December 2026. The views remain completely unaffected, although occasional daytime construction noise may be heard.

Construction Notice
An extensive construction project is taking place next to Vista de Oro and is expected to continue through December 2026. On working days, guests may hear construction noise. The view is not obstructed, but the activity may cause minor inconveniences during the stay. The nightly rate has already been adjusted to reflect this potential inconvenience.
House Rules
- Outside vendors are not permitted without approval from and a contract with Elysium.
- No pets.
- No smoking indoors. Please use the outdoor ashtrays and dispose of cigarette butts properly to avoid an additional cleaning fee.
- No confetti. An additional cleaning fee will apply if confetti is found at the property.
- Dispose of toilet paper in the receptacles provided in each bathroom. Do not flush anything down the toilets.

A vehicle is recommended for enjoying the villa and surrounding area. Our team can help you save money on rentals by booking directly with us and avoiding hidden fees and scams. Private shuttles and drivers are also available.
Wildlife and Pest Control
All properties are professionally treated monthly for pest control. However, Vista de Oro is located in the lush Costa Rican tropics, where guests may occasionally encounter local wildlife, including ants, geckos and their small droppings, centipedes, cockroaches, or, rarely, a scorpion.
Scorpion stings are generally similar to bee stings unless the person is highly allergic. These encounters are a natural part of staying in the jungle and the animals’ natural habitat.

Positives: -Absolutely Epic view. The house is perched on a hill with 180 degrees of pacific blue. I have never seen a view like this! -house was very clean. Rooms were big. -John and the management team were great. They are extremely responsive even at odd hours. He gave us recommendations for activities and booked them for us. All of there recs were top notch. -It’s the last house on the hill so it felt very safe. -incredible outdoor sound system surrounding the entire pool area that projects at the house like an amphitheater. -definitely get the private chef Marco. Excellent food and overall experience for a decent price. Negatives: -out of their control but they were doing construction on a building next door that started at 6am which was a wake up call. -Not walkable, you will definitely need a rental car. -WiFi only worked in the outside living area, however John mentioned that they are upgrading this now to extend to the bedrooms. Overall it exceeded expectations.

We were amazed by the view we had from this beautiful property. The road up to it is somewhat steep and winding but well worth the trip. We loved the outdoor common area and the swimming pool. Juan Carlos was an excellent host. Our son’s family arrived well after dark. Juan Carlos met them in town and guided them up to the house so that they wouldn’t have to find us in the dark. He was very good about answering our endless supply of questions. The house is close to the town of Coco, many restaurants, two beaches, and several grocery stores. We would definitely recommend this place for a Costa Rican vacation.

We had three families, 11 people, and the house gave us plenty of space. Everyone had a comfortable place to sleep and there were plenty of bathrooms for all. The views in person were beyond amazing, even better than the photos, and the in-door/out-door living space allowed us to enjoy them all day long. The pool was clean and the patio area provided many relaxing lounging areas with shade. We watched the sunsets each night before enjoying a wonderful meal prepared by Chef Marco. I would highly recommend taking advantage of the chef and bartender services. Everything we ate was delicious from the predinner snacks, to the drinks prepared by Manuel, to the beautifully presented dinners. There was enough food to enjoy the leftovers for lunch. Juan Carlos was very responsive and greeted us upon arrival. He helped us navigate anything we needed including excursions, trips to town, and massages with a masseuse that came to the house. We would definitely stay here again!

Our stay at the Villa was perfect. The pictures don’t do justice to the view. It’s even more beautiful in person. We were a group of 11 and had more than enough space. Kitchen needs a little update, however it’s still very good and totally worth the small compromise of having a this view and a reasonable price. Juan Carlos is a fabulous host. He was always responsive and available if we needed him. Henri, the pool cleaner was also very kind. We would definitely come back again.

The villa was really beautiful with a gorgeous view. It was very private and quiet. The 10 of us were very comfortable there. You do need a car, but it’s only a 15 minute drive to El Coco. It was relatively easy to get US cash out of the ATM’s in town. Juan Carlos was really a great help in setting up excursions around the area.

Private location with amazing views. Juan Carlos was extremely responsive and supportive whenever we needed anything, and he helped us suggest and book a few of our daytrips. The kitchen is pretty basic and could use some upgrades (believed to be in progress), but it worked out for our group, as we ate out most nights.
