Casa Nube is a stylish boutique mountain villa just 5 minutes, or 2.8 kilometers, from the vibrant beach town of Samara, known for its cafés, restaurants, surfing, and sunsets.
This spacious 350-square-meter tropical retreat combines jungle living with comfort, thoughtful design, and privacy. Guests enjoy exclusive use of the villa, private saltwater pool, and outdoor dining areas—a peaceful setting to relax, reconnect, and experience Costa Rica.
The Space
Casa Nube is a boutique tropical villa set in the peaceful hills above Samara. Although it is only minutes from beaches, cafés, restaurants, and surf, the property is surrounded by jungle, wildlife, and cooling mountain breezes. Located within one of the world’s rare Blue Zones, the villa offers a distinctive balance of nature, comfort, and style.
The villa sits on 1.5 acres of private tropical landscape and was designed to immerse guests in Costa Rica’s natural beauty. Wake to howler monkeys and tropical birds, watch mist move through the hills during the green season, and enjoy spectacular rainbow sunsets during the dry season from nearly every bedroom and living area.

The open design creates a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors open onto spacious social areas designed for families and friends to relax, dine, and spend time together.
At the center of the home is a large open-plan kitchen, dining area, and lounge. A handcrafted teak dining table seats up to 12 guests, making it ideal for long dinners, game nights, or meals prepared by one of the recommended private chefs.
Casa Nube accommodates up to 10 guests across five beautifully designed bedrooms and three full bathrooms. The layout is well suited to extended families, groups of friends, and multigenerational stays.
The upstairs bedrooms feature breathtaking mountain and jungle views and are connected by a striking external staircase that has become one of the villa’s signature features.

Family-Friendly Features
Families traveling with young children are welcome. A complimentary Pack ’n Play and high chair are available for your convenience.
Guest Access
Parking for up to three vehicles is available on the private driveway beside the pool area. From the driveway, approximately 25 steps lead up a gentle incline to the villa entrance. Please refer to the exterior photos.
Guests with limited mobility may require assistance navigating the steps. We are happy to help with luggage upon arrival where possible. If you are traveling with particularly heavy luggage or numerous bags, please let us know in advance so we can help arrange a porter service.
The walk to the villa is rewarded with elevated jungle views and cooling mountain breezes, which are part of what makes Casa Nube special.
Location and Transportation
Samara has everything you need nearby, and many guests enjoy packing light and embracing the relaxed Costa Rican lifestyle.
For maximum comfort while exploring the surrounding area, we recommend renting a four-wheel-drive vehicle.

Casa Nube is designed for guests seeking relaxation, connection, nature, and comfort. To preserve the peaceful atmosphere of the villa and surrounding neighborhood:
- Parties and loud events are not permitted.
- Excessively loud music is not permitted.
- Adult-only group stays are welcome with prior approval.
- Please message before booking an adult-only group stay to ensure the villa is suitable for your plans.
Staircase and Upstairs Bathroom
Access to the upstairs bedrooms is via Casa Nube’s beautiful external sweeping staircase, designed to showcase the surrounding mountain and jungle views.
The upstairs bathroom has a privacy screen rather than a traditional door. This allows guests to enjoy the breathtaking tropical mountain views while maintaining privacy—a distinctive feature that many guests appreciate.
At night, we recommend turning off the staircase lights when they are not in use, as tropical wildlife and insects are naturally attracted to light.
As with any property immersed in nature, insects and wildlife are part of the authentic Costa Rican experience. Guests are visitors in their habitat.

We were two families with young children and loved our stay. We were able to enjoy the pool and large kitchen. We heard howler monkeys several mornings. The accommodation is located in an area a few minutes by car from Samara. Our check-in and communication with Léonie were completely hassle-free. We recommend it without hesitation!

We stayed 3 nights at Casa Nube and wished it had been longer! The house was amazing, interesting architecture on top of a hill in a very private and safe neighborhood. The pool was good size and surrounded by wildlife - monkeys, birds etc. The short drive to the town and beach was not an issue at all. As everywhere in the area, 4WD is recommended. The property manager was super responsive and helpful. Would definitely recommend!

We had an amazing family vacation at Casa Nube! The drive from Liberia was beautiful. We were welcomed with a basket of fresh fruit which was perfect! The house was comfortable, well-equipped, and perfect for our large family group. We loved relaxing on the outdoor patios each morning listening to birds, monkeys, and other wildlife. The kids loved swimming in the pool everyday. Sámara was a wonderful town to explore. Some of our favorites included a sunset catamaran cruise, a private chef who cooked a delicious Costa Rican dinner at the house, browsing the Sámara Market, and spotting howler monkeys on the nearby walking trails. We also enjoyed great meals at La Boca, Chaki Café, Sámara Brewing Company, Las Olas, and Restaurant Bahía. Carrillo Beach was another favorite for peaceful walks and shell hunting. The hosts were fantastic—friendly, responsive, and always available. They made us feel welcome. We made so many wonderful memories here and would absolutely stay at Casa Nube again!

The place is in a beautiful location, super quiet, the area in general is beautiful, and the host is very friendly. The place has limited infrastructure; it is underdeveloped, but the beaches are beautiful…

Beautiful house, great location. The pool is cleaned every day. Host is very responsive and available. The only thing I didn't know was that the two bedrooms upstairs we had to go through the stairs that are outside to access and the bathroom didn't have a door just a screen. We had a visit from some big insects. Finally, we don't use the bathrooms. Suggestions a door should be added. Otherwise, everything was great!

The house manager Leonie was a gem! Always prompt responses to our queries. The house was well equipped and situated. The beds were so comfortable. Only thing maybe thicker comforters because with the a/c it can get chilly at night! Close to everything, we definitely would recommend!
