Montecristo is an exclusive gated community situated on the mountainside in Los Cabos, Mexico. It offers breathtaking ocean views overlooking the entire Quivira Los Cabos area, which features a prestigious Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course. The community is meticulously landscaped and maintained, providing access to a beautiful clubhouse. Located at the tip of the Baja Peninsula in Cabo San Lucas, this private enclave offers a peaceful retreat with stunning surroundings.
The Space
Montecristo Villas are designed to meet your needs, ensuring a memorable and comfortable stay in this unique setting. Each villa features luxurious amenities, including:

- Central family room
- Reading areas
- Walk-in closets
Please note:
- Our listings are not linked to a specific villa, but all villas share the same amenities and layouts.
- Each villa has a private pool and Jacuzzi on the terrace.
- Views vary by villa; while photos represent typical views, exact views cannot be guaranteed.
- Villa locations cannot be requested; we manage villas in both Phase I and Phase II of Montecristo.
Booking and Guest Policies
- Prices depend on the number of guests. Please book for the correct number of occupants.
- Extra guest fees apply if additional guests arrive beyond the original booking:
- $50 USD per night per extra guest if added before arrival.
- $100 USD per night per extra guest if added during or after check-in.
- All guests must be registered, and applicable fees paid.
- Housekeeping is not included but can be added for $80 USD per day.
- Salt, pepper, condiments, oils, foil, plastic wrap, coffee, sugar, and similar items are not provided.
- Early check-in cannot be guaranteed; villas are ready by 4:00 p.m. Guests may use clubhouse facilities and store luggage until the villa is available.
Environmental Sanitation Tax
The municipality of Los Cabos has introduced an Environmental Sanitation Tax to support local community improvements. This tax applies to all reservations made from September 8, 2022, onward and is charged at check-out.
- Amount: 33.68 Mexican Pesos per room per night (approximately $1.70 USD, depending on exchange rates)
- Applies regardless of occupancy
- Funds support environmental infrastructure, sustainability, safety, and security projects
COVID-19 Safety Protocols
Quivira Vacation Rentals follows strict hygiene and social distancing measures based on global hotel consulting recommendations to ensure guest and staff safety.
Cleanliness and Sanitization
- Hand sanitizing stations at key locations (front desk, restaurant entrances, public areas)
- Certified disinfectants used for cleaning high-touch surfaces
- Periodic deep sanitization by certified third parties
Arrival Procedures
- External suitcase sanitization via steam cabin or sanitizing devices
- Guest sanitization cabin and infrared temperature checks (guests with temperatures above 38°C/100.4°F may be denied access)
- Mobile pre-check-in available
Room Amenities
- Hand sanitizer and sanitizing spray provided
- Masks and gloves available upon request
- Paper amenities, pens, and magazines removed unless requested
Social Distancing and Health Measures
- Elevator capacity limited to two people, except family members
- Public furniture arranged to maintain at least 1.8 meters (6 feet) distance

- Pool loungers grouped in twos or fours, spaced 1.8 meters apart
- Equipment sanitized after each use
- Reduced maximum capacities for fitness center and spa
Food and Beverage
- Restaurant and bar seating arranged for social distancing with capacity limits
- Staff wear masks
- Contactless room service available
- Menus accessible via mobile devices; physical menus removed
Golf Club Protocols
- Sanitization of golf carts and balls before and after use
- Capacity limits at reception and practice areas
- Tee times spaced 15 minutes apart
- One golf cart per person unless family members request otherwise
- Rules to minimize touchpoints during play (e.g., flagsticks remain in holes, bunker rakes removed)
COVID-19 Response
- On-site detection team including medical and management staff coordinates with health authorities
- Protocols established for handling potential COVID-19 cases
- 24/7 medical service available
Destination Measures
- Enhanced procedures at SJD International Airport, including thermal cameras and travel background checks
- Certification program by the Ministry of Health for restaurants, hotels, water sports, and tourism activities
- Ongoing monitoring and updates to safety protocols

Important Notes
- Outside services such as private chefs, external catering, grocery shopping, and maid services are not permitted within the Quivira Los Cabos Community. Only services provided by Pueblo Bonito Resorts are allowed.
- Villa assignments are confirmed only at check-in based on arrivals and departures; advance confirmation or guarantees are not possible.
- This rental is a vacation rental experience, distinct from timeshare or hotel bookings through the resorts. Some resort amenities may not be included with vacation rentals, aligning with industry standards and Airbnb recommendations for essential amenities.

We were the victims of a home robbery during our stay at the Villa. We were in the upstairs portion of the home and they came in from the lower level and stole Phones, Wallets, Bags, Clothes, Sunglasses, etc. we filed a report with security at the resort and they basically did nothing. We contacted the Host and they did nothing to support us or follow up. We paid to extended our stay two days to see if we could retrieve our things by working with security staff but to no avail. We’ve rented in this community many times before and never had an issue during our stays. The Villa is slightly outdated and could use a facelift. That said, it’s in a beautiful location and the host did a good job describing the home. In the end, we left without retrieving our stolen items. Scary part is they came in while we were in the home. It’s was most certainly a staff member….So be warned you cannot leave your sliding doors open in a tropical gated environment even when your home! Scary!

My family of 4, wife, 2 15 yr olds, ventured here on a friend's recommendation. Takes a while to get here from where we live, so when we arrived, tired and at the end of a long day, and saw the place, we decided to add 2 more days. The villas are all very spacious, and the room to move around is large. The views are serene and dramatic of the Sea of Cortez. The shuttle service, vans going up and down the roads to the villas day and night, is prompt and easy to use. The infinity pool, as others have noted, is relaxing and offers dramatic views. The restaurants and vibe at the Market at Quivira is lively, and nice. Good selection of many types of food and treats there. It is crowded, but we never felt overwhelmed or burdened by this. The steak house at the golf course is great food, top notch service. As for the main clubhouse where you check in, there is a nice restaurant there with amenable hosts. This is a worthwhile trip for your family.

What a great villa! Spectacular views for the private infinity pool! This place was incredible and tucked away on a huge piece of property. The bedrooms are very large and plenty of closet space. We used the kitchen ,which had everything you need . Quivira golf course, on site, is one of the top courses in Mexico. Definitely worth playing plus a members discount for staying on the property. Saul was a great host as well. We had a small communication error on his availability but outside of that, he was a pleasure to work with and I'd definitely stay there again!

We always enjoy Quivira and Montecristo. As others have stated the villas could use some refurbishing but are still very clean and worth the price. You can’t beat a private infinity pool overlooking the ocean.

Beautiful property and ability to use all the pueblo bonito facilities and pools (loved skypool) was a bonus. Checkin process is a little cumbersome and they called us the day before we were supposed to check out claiming it was our last day (I had to send screenshot proof that it wasnt). Beds were comfortable and enough amenities in kitchen that we could make a few meals. Definitely have to buy everything though (even laundry detergent). House pool was great, but wish there were pool lights. Felt very safe and overall service was excellent. Nice to be 15 minutes from marina... but having a rentalcar was key. Would definitely recommend Montecristo!

Very beautiful villa. Amazing views from the terrace and the pool. Very comfortable inside as well. Service was slightly subpar-only got our place cleaned once during our 4 night stay. Also, the ac started to leak and it took a full day for it to get fixed. Otherwise, transportation and everything was very convenient.

First, the best thing about the Montecristo Villas at Quivira - the view. It's magnificent. From our terrace overlooking the Quivira resort and the ocean, sunsets provided entertainment by themselves. So beautiful. Each villa has a small infinity pool that's also worth the price of the unit. The villa is quite large, with three sizable bedrooms, each with its own full bathroom. The decor is typically Mexican with heavy furniture, designed to be indestructible more than stylish. The villas were built in the late 1990s and show their 25+ years. The beds are fine, but the couches are less comfortable. It's time for a Montecristo update. That said, the staff was lovely and quick to respond to our needs. The kitchen is fine. If you're planning on cooking in the unit, buy all your food before arriving at Quivira. Everything at Quivira is beyond expensive, it's price gouging, e.g. - a double-scoop ice cream cone was $14 and a golf shirt at the pro shop ran anywhere from $150 to $250.
