The Space

Canyon Casa is a bespoke contemporary and rustic villa set in the breathtaking mountainous terrain beside the grand Rio Virilla, in the delightful municipality of Ciudad Colón.

At dawn, sunlight streams through the open windows while the powerful sound of the river echoes throughout the property. Canyon Casa offers a remarkably peaceful setting surrounded by nature.

The open floor plan and expansive wall of windows fill the home with natural light throughout the day. From inside, you can enjoy lush green mountains and magnificent views of the Rio Virilla.

Relax on either of the two covered decks with a cup of Costa Rican coffee while watching toucans, macaws, and monkeys in the trees. When it is time to dine, the Japanese garden provides a beautiful setting for meals prepared in the fully stocked modern kitchen. Depending on the season, guests can also pick fresh fruit from the farm.

For outdoor activities, hiking and mountain biking trails begin right outside the driveway. The property is also conveniently located just minutes from Ciudad Colón, Santa Ana, Escazú, and San José International Airport. Jaco is approximately one hour away for a beach getaway.

Canyon Casa accommodates up to six guests:

• One king bedroom in the loft
• One queen bedroom downstairs
• A separate downstairs sleeping area with another queen bed

The home is well suited for couples, families, or groups of friends.

Guest Access

Guests are welcome to use the entire property. Excellent hiking and mountain biking are available directly from the driveway. The road is very private and receives little traffic.

Amenities and Important Information

• The curtains operate with an electric mechanism and can only be controlled with the remote. Please do not attempt to open or close them manually.
• The air-conditioning controllers for both units are mounted on the wall to the left of each television.
• If you would like to use the waterfall and river feature in the garden and need assistance, please send us a quick message.
• The office includes a spacious desk with all necessary supplies and a comfortable leather office chair.
• Exceptional fiber-optic internet supports seamless video conferencing and live trading activities.

Nature and Wildlife

Canyon Casa is located in a natural mountain environment surrounded by forest and wildlife. Although a professional pest-control company services the property regularly, insects and other small creatures are a normal part of life in tropical mountain settings.

Guests may occasionally encounter insects, butterflies, spiders, lizards, birds, or other wildlife during their stay. This is a natural aspect of being immersed in the environment and does not indicate a lack of cleanliness or maintenance.

Guests seeking a completely urban or insect-free setting may not find a tropical mountain home to be the best fit. For those looking for privacy, nature, and beautiful surroundings, Canyon Casa offers a special experience.

Utilities and Local Conditions

Costa Rica may occasionally experience power and water outages. Guests may also encounter scorpions, snakes, mosquitoes, flies, bees, and other creatures that are part of the local ecosystem.

Long-Term Reservations

For all long-term reservations, a mandatory cleaning by our maid service is required every 15 days. We take the cleaning and maintenance of our homes seriously and have found this to be the best way to maintain the property.

• Cleaning fee: $120 USD
• The fee can be paid directly through the Airbnb platform.

Check-Out

Check-out is at 10:00 a.m. A late check-out fee of $50 per hour applies after 10:00 a.m.
