3BR Villa in Playa Grande

We stayed 10 days at Shawnas home in Playa Ventanas. The house is new the beds were really comfortable for us and the kids. The first minute we walked into the backyard we were greeted by a family of Howler monkeys, quite surprising for the first minute we got to the house. The location is extremely close to the beach, if your renting this house you clearly have a car and the beach is basically 3-5 minutes from Playa Grande. Great beach with soft sand and nice waves for boogie boarding. We were able to use Shawnas chairs at the beach which certainly helps. We used Shawnas house as if it was our home away from home and it met our expectations. I even cooked a beautiful Tomahawk on the gas bbq it came out great. If your looking for a new house close to the beach for up to 4 people I think Shawnas house will be a perfect location. Thank you letting us enjoy this paradise at your house Shawna!

Great safe location less than 7 minutes to Playa Grande for surfing and 30 minutes from Tamarindo for food options. Waking up with the noise of monkeys in the backyard was magical. Very peaceful and lovely place. Comfortable for 3 couples with 3 full rooms.

We had the most wonderful stay at Shanna’s beautiful home! The home was even more beautiful than the pictures, we especially loved the pool and chaises with an outdoor eating area. The house was spotless and the directions were perfectly clear. Shawna was so kind as to recommend some activities for our kids in the area, including surfing lessons and an estuary tour. We were treated to monkeys in the backyard one morning, and the birds were truly a joy.

General location - This was the first time we stayed in Playa Grande (we’ve been all over Costa Rica). Easy access (15-30 minutes) to many unique beaches with a car. House location - The location was amazing for seeing nature. Everyday we had monkeys right in the backyard. We had perfect viewing from the lounges and perfect camera opportunities standing under the trees. We saw large families of coatis. And beautiful birds, dragonflies, butterflies. Beautiful surroundings. Noise level - While the outdoor space was extremely zen in the afternoons, it was very busy early morning with cars and motorcycles driving and construction noise and conversation. Comfort and convenience - Beds were very comfortable, everything in the house is new and in great shape, the kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies, provided beach chairs and plenty of high quality beach/house towels, and the A/C worked well and didn’t cycle in and off like some other places. Lovely managers. Will return.

The villa is an amazing place to stay. It's very spacious and has everything you need for a great holiday. The pool was very welcome for the hot days. Being in a gated community was a new thing for us but the guards were really friendly and it was interesting to experience. We had to leave the property early as our very young children were too hot in the heat (we visited in May) and Shawna was great and kindly refunded a portion of our stay. We also had a problem with the utility room door (it somehow got locked from the inside?!) and Jorge came out as soon as he could and opened it for us. This was great service. Overall, we were really happy with the villa and glad we stayed there. Thank you Shawna and Jorge!

The place was great. We really enjoyed our time. We had howler monkeys in the back yard which was really entertaining. We loved the pool. The place was further from the beach than it appeared in the map, but an easy drive to the beach 2 miles away. We had a great time there.
