Guests can enjoy more than 20 miles of mountain biking and running trails, three miles of coastline with multiple surf breaks, tennis and pickleball courts, horseback riding, and access to the nearby JW Marriott resort.

As guests of Entroterra Casa 8, you receive complimentary access to the Hacienda Pinilla Beach Club. Facilities include:

Golf Course
Designed by Mike Young, the par-72 golf course extends up to 7,200 yards and blends naturally into Hacienda Pinilla’s landscape. The course winds through tropical forests and along the Pacific shoreline, with views of the blue water.
- Twilight rates apply after 1:00 PM.
- Super Twilight rates apply after 3:00 PM.
Tennis and Pickleball
Hacienda Pinilla has three hard tennis courts with on-site instructors. Guests can book tennis and pickleball clinics, private lessons, and court rentals.

Horse Stables
Explore 16 kilometers of scenic trails through dry forests and along the pristine sands of Playa Langosta. Guided horseback tours can be customized from 30 minutes to two hours and may include lush forests, secluded beaches, and peaceful river mouths within Hacienda Pinilla.
Mountain Bike Trails
The ranch offers 30 kilometers of professional trails and 15 kilometers of amateur trails, suitable for biking, hiking, and exploring the expansive 4,500-acre property.
Surfing
Hacienda Pinilla is an excellent base for a Costa Rican surf trip. Guests can access six breaks at Playa Avellanas and private beach breaks at Playa Langosta without leaving the ranch.
For additional surf options:
- Playa Negra’s renowned reef breaks are 10 minutes south.
- Tamarindo’s river mouth and beach breaks are 10 minutes north.
Important Information
Entroterra Casa 8 is located within the private, gated community of Hacienda Pinilla, specifically in the smaller, exclusive Entroterra neighborhood.
The community includes full-time residents and families. A strict noise policy is in effect from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
This home is intended for respectful families and groups of adults. Parties, events, large gatherings, and excessive noise are not permitted. Guests who violate the community rules may be asked to leave without a refund.

Additional Notes
A rental car is highly recommended because neighborhood amenities and local restaurants are not within easy walking distance.
Because Hacienda Pinilla is extensive, it is recommended that guests purchase groceries before arrival, particularly after a long travel day.
If you expect visitors during your stay, notify the host in advance so they can be added to the entry list at the main gate.

We had a wonderful stay at Mary’s Casa 8 at Entroterra. The house is beautiful, spacious, very clean, and peaceful, with a large garden and a lovely saltwater pool. We enjoyed having a BBQ and relaxing in the beautiful weather. The furniture and appliances are all high-quality. Mary was very kind, friendly, and welcoming. We’d love to come back!

Our family has gone to CR once a year since 2022. We absolutely love it there. This was the first time we tried the Hacienda Panilla area. I would not suggest for your first trip to CR because it’s very remote and it’s almost like off-roading to get there, but if you want to be “off the grid” and just relax with your family without worrying about site seeing etc., it’s absolutely perfect. We saw monkeys and wild macaws from the backyard. We also highly recommend getting your own rental car. The home itself was gorgeous and very well maintained. We were so comfortable and made memories we won’t forget. We hope to go back!

Highly recommended. The house is exactly as shown in the photos! DIVINE!!! The rooms are super spacious, and the common area is very comfortable! Everything is like new! Mary's service was amazing. Mary was a terrific host and the house was gorgeous. She was extremely responsive, everything was super clean, they had everything you needed, including beach chairs, an umbrella, and a cooler to make the day at the beach wonderful. The pool at the house was a modest size but super clean and lovely for cooling off. Every room being an en-suite with its own bathroom was great. The house is about a 12 minute drive to Playa Avellanas, which is great for surf lessons, and swimming when the tide is low. It’s 35 min to Tamarindo, where you’ll find more action. The only downside is the roads leading to the house are basically dirt roads and it’s a 15-30 min drive to get to most anything. Lovely stay!!!
