Catalina's house was a beautiful and authentic place to stay that is really close to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve. The property was spotless and had a unique feel to it. Inside the double height living area and generous landing gave the cabin a spacious feel and their was a perfect balance of books, ornaments etc to complement the wood cabin feel without the place feeling cluttered. Outside, although you are quite close to the road, you feel like you are in the middle of the forest. Surrounded by trees and the sounds of bird song. It was as if we had our own little cloud forest! It was a lovely place to stay whilst visiting Monteverde and I highly recommend it.

A very nice house in the mountains of Monteverde. The kitchen is well equipped, and there is a very homey atmosphere. We did not use it, but there was also an opportunity to wash and dry. Lots of nature in the area. Furthermore, we very much enjoyed the area and the flora and fauna around the house. We didn't see any monkeys, but we did see a coati, butterflies, and birds.

Beautiful older home in the middle of the rainforest on top of the mountains. I was a little afraid at night with no ac and the windows open, but everything was amazing!

I agree with other reviewers that this place is beautiful. There’s a patio and balcony that we enjoyed (surrounded by trees). A road and neighbors are nearby but it feels somewhat secluded. You’ll need a car to get around. The cabin itself is very unique; it was clean, had hot water, and the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need (including coffee and cooking oil). The owners are also very responsive and helpful (they recommended a tour guide). The only heads up that I would give is that in July, we found several scorpions inside (on the stairs and downstairs). The cabin is in a wooded area so bugs are expected but we were pretty nervous about scorpions. The owners quickly sent over someone to spray (and had sprayed before we arrived). Just keep your eyes open. We found it helpful to use flashlights inside at night as the floors are dark wood and it can be difficult to see critters. Overall a wonderful place!

This home was absolutely magical! We were proximate to local restaurants and just a stone's throw from Monteverde reserve, but it felt so private and peaceful. It was super comfortable and well-appointed. The host was lovely and immediately communicative. There was some road construction during our stay (now finished!) that presented a minor inconvenience and Catalina was very proactive about making sure we knew how to navigate the problem. It was the perfect stay for our family of four!

My family and I had an incredible stay in Monteverde. The six of us enjoyed staying in a very comfortable house that seemed to be in the middle of the jungle. Yet we were very close to shops and restaurants and could even walk to our zip line adventure. We cooked several meals in the well stocked kitchen and ate together on the large dining room table. The bathrooms were spacious with plenty of soft towels. We played games together and had plenty of places to sit and talk. Monteverde was a great experience for us. You should stay here as well.

When we were looking for a place to stay, we felt that this place was a good representation of Monteverde. It is a very cozy cabin in the middle of the forest. It is fairly close to downtown Monteverde. We really liked it for a stay with several people. We recommend it and would book again.
