Overview

Casa Ballena is a modern ocean-view retreat accommodating up to 14 guests, making it ideal for multiple couples or families. Enjoy panoramic Pacific Ocean views, morning visits from toucans in the nearby trees, and unforgettable sunsets from the private infinity pool.

The property is located seven minutes from the coastal highway within a gated community. A true four-wheel-drive vehicle is required for access. Guests also enjoy concierge services and convenient access to beaches, restaurants, and tours.

The Space

Perched above Costa Rica’s breathtaking Southern Pacific coastline, Casa Ballena Pacifica combines panoramic ocean views, tropical wildlife, and modern comfort in a private luxury retreat.

Wake to the calls of toucans and scarlet macaws as the sun rises over the Pacific, while monkeys move through the jungle canopy. Spend your days exploring waterfalls, relaxing on pristine beaches, whale watching, surfing, or enjoying the many adventures Costa Rica has to offer. Afterward, return to your private sanctuary for a refreshing swim in the ocean-view pool.

During whale season, you may even see humpback whales breaching in the waters of Marino Ballena National Park below. As evening arrives, grill freshly caught local seafood on the barbecue and enjoy sunset cocktails overlooking the Pacific. Alternatively, our concierge can arrange for a private chef to prepare a farm-to-table gourmet dinner in the comfort of the villa.

Designed for multiple families, couples, retreats, and groups of friends, Casa Ballena comfortably accommodates up to 14 guests. The home offers spacious gathering areas alongside private retreats. Expansive bi-fold glass doors connect the great room, chef’s kitchen, and covered pool terrace, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor living space.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

At the end of the day, retreat to one of four spacious king suites. Each suite includes:

The Octopus Suite features an ADA-accessible bathroom.

Three suites also include lofts with two twin beds, suitable for children aged 10 and older or agile adults. The lofts are accessed by ladder and have lower ceilings.

Rates and Guest Services

The discounted base nightly rate includes up to four guests. An additional guest fee applies to larger groups to help cover the increased costs of housekeeping, laundry, linens, utilities, and guest amenities while maintaining the same high-quality experience for everyone.

Guest Access

Guests have exclusive use of the entire home and property.

Upon arrival in town, we will personally escort you to the home, provide the keys, and answer any questions. Before arrival, each guest receives a house information video explaining the main amenities and how everything works.

• Early check-in: Available upon request, when possible
• Late check-in after 8:00 PM: Escorted service available through a trusted associate for a $35 fee, payable at the time of service
• Check-out: 10:00 AM
• Late check-out: Available upon request, when possible

Additional Information

Four-Wheel-Drive Vehicle Required

A true four-wheel-drive vehicle is necessary to access the property. All-wheel drive is not sufficient for the local terrain. We are happy to recommend trusted rental car providers upon booking, including partners offering exclusive corporate discounts.

Interim Cleaning

A mid-stay light cleaning can be arranged upon request. Please let us know in advance so we can schedule the service. The housekeeping team charges $100, payable in cash directly at the time of service.
